I wish they had brought some details. I just know, his son became the new potentate, and it was the end of potentate until High Chancellor Ocato himself ruled as potentate after Martin Septim sacrifice.

You're absolutely correct. The Direnni are Altmer but their religion changed due to their close contact to human civilization. They practically follow an Auri-El light version that is not as racist as the Alinor elves.
This was the mod that really got me into CK3, I eagerly await the eventual update. I love the idea of playing as wandering Daedric Cultists particularly for Boethiah or Sanguine

Started my first game in EK as an orc tribe on the most remote island between Yokuda and High Rock. I developed my armies a bit and head for Wayrest to begin my goal of re-establishing Orsinium, making it greater, Redeeming the Pariah race, and so much more. From Count to Emperor, the orcs will thrive.

Can't recommend EK2 enough. It was the inspiration that got me to buy CK3. Just like how I bought HOI4 and learned how to play it using the old world blues mod, my first 200 hours on CK3 aside from the Ireland tutorial was all Elder kings. And now I have 2900 hours on the game, mostly base game though.
It was such a huge book to ck3 when it came out too because the early dlc cycle was so slow. It basically helped keep the game alive imo in that early period.
I just wish they'd update EK2 for the roads to power dlc. That mod is already awesome. Imagine how much better it would be with that dlc on top of it, being able to explore Tamriel as a landless adventurer
I like starting at Solstheim as a extinct race. Since no one bothers you and you can build tall and stage your invasion of Morrowind as the Dwemer or invade Skyrim for the snow elves. lol
One day you should make a gameplay of a Tsaesci restoration, like one of the Tsaesci families just taking over once again and establishing their own powerbase.
Still currently sticking with the CK2 version which has Pyandonea, Akivir, and Atmora. I think the devs said that it'll be a long time before they add other continents, and from what I understand, they also plan on making Pyandonea smaller/getting rid of playable Orgnum...which sucks as that's one of the most unique and coolest starts. Not only that, but really wish there were more start dates.

As a 15 year old going through it, while dealing with embarrassing and painful cystic acne, being holed up in my room and losing myself in Cyrodill was great respite.

I glaze the mod enough in the discord so I will mention one thing I like that I haven’t really discussed: how functional of a wiki it is. The UESP, whilst great, has so much going on that a lot falls through the cracks. Elder Kings however serves as a great guide for a lot of these cultures, peoples, and faiths. I had no idea that Iron Orcs were even a thing until Elder Kings and know they are one of my favorite tidbits. Sure, it has its own pseduo-canon (we love the Brotherhood of Seth) and it does ignore some of the weirdness of the described time (where are my space moths Reman).

The story you shared sounds so similar to mine own. Except I shared it with my sister so much we bought our own copies and own Xboxes. I had no clue that there was a CK2 mod for Tamriel, but now that I think about it, it would be weird if there wasn’t! You talking about how Skyrim is 13 years old and the ES6 teaser being 6 years old reminded me of how after the Dawnguard DLC came out, I was talking with my friend in high school about how it’s wild that we probably wouldn’t see another elder scrolls game until like 2022. Tamriel Rebuilt truly is beautiful. I've been lukring the discord for a few months now. It really brings that unique flavor of TES that really captures your imagination. I can't wait for the Narsis release, which is suppose to be larger then almost every city Bethesda ever released, and is bigger then every city in Skyrim combined.

My favorites are custom made characters in duchy of Sutch (cyrodiil) or duchy of Snowhawk (skyrim). Other starts I enjoyed were Humilio Tharn of Cheydinhal and the only Ayleid duke in Valenwood. I miss playing EK2 but I won't change game's version anymore, just hope the mod gets an update...
If you want some Elder Scrolls action, the Struggle for Iliac Bay mod for M&B Warband depicts High Rock and some of Hammerfall and is very fun and well done.

Something to do with only a select few people on the team are actually able to convert the mod with new updates. Plus they don't get early access to updates which doesn't help either.

It's interesting hearing your perspective on TES as someone who became a big fan with Morrowind and then went back to play the others before Oblivion came out and ruined it for me by retconning most of the lore and world to be intentionally as generic as possible D&D tropes, with a hint of Peter Jackson's JRR Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. The world was so much more diverse and interesting before Oblivion. The intentional erasure of so much of the diversity of the game's world just completely killed by interest in the series' broader fictional world. I tried this CK3 mod a bit, but I only have the first season of DLC so I didn't have many features and couldn't really figure things out very well.
Looking back now with that context does sting a bit I agree. I had that feeling by the time Skyrim came out and genuinely don’t have a ton of hope for whatever TES 6 will eventually be. But I do think projects like TR or even EK2 at least keep the spirit of what used to make these games great alive.
It is a shame. Obviously Skyrim was the first real indicator of the path they would take but fallout 4 was enjoyable worldwise where Starfield just seemed like every worst feature of their games made into a game.

The alyieds still have some starts in valenwood and my favorite one is the queen in blackmarsh. She has good stewardship and magic.
