Nice review. I enjoy your videos. They're a straight talking, honest assessment from your own experience, which I appreciate. I like the Torin 7, but it is on the softer side. I find it best for 10k to 10 mile easy runs. I use the Via Olympus for longer efforts. Yes, I know its firmer, but thats fine with me. I enjoy the difference. I don't want every shoe in my rotation to be squishy soft. I will try the FWD Experience at some point. Keep putting out the videos, the useful content is great.
Coincidentally, I tried both pairs this weekend at my local FF, and although I was disappointedly underwhelmed by the FWD Exp, I'm still leanig towards that shoe in a slight edge over the Torin 7. Thanks for another comprehensive comparison.
Great comparison. My favorite Altra so far has been the paradigm 6. I’ve tried the Torin 7 and find the toe box to be shallow. It’s wide enough but seems too low. Would the FWD have the same toe box? Thank you so much.
I like the FWD. I don’t like squishy shoes unless I’m just casually walking in them. For running, I find firmer shoes to be more stable and just feel better to me. One of the worse shoes I ever tried on were NB More V4. It was like standing on a sky scraper of mush.
I like to have a bit of firmness to my shoes as well. I think it is hard to move quickly (not that I am very quick) if you don't have a firm foundation.

I was a little disappointed in the foam not being a bit livelier. However, I am still finding it to be a pretty versatile shoe.

The toebox depth of the Fwd Experience seems very similar to the Torin 7 to me.
It may have very slightly more space.
