    Great info, thank you.
    I have 4 lung nodules. Three of them are GGO size 4mm. One is part solid size 6mm. I had two CT scan done in 12/23 and 6/24. They remain the same size- stable. Because I have strong family history of lung cancer, I’m referred to see a thoracic surgeon discussing possible of CRAT.

    I have just been diagnosed with a lung nodule. It is very worrying to me. It didn’t light up on the PET scan so that’s a good thing. It’s too small to have a biopsy. I have been given options, which is good. But I’m still so unsure whether to go for surgery and have it taken out.

      Karen, nodules are very common. Not active on PET is a good thing as well. I’m sure your doctors will watch it closely so let them help you so you don’t have to worry about it too much.

    They need to add processed food and sugar consumption as a risk factor.

    Amazing my late mother had multiple nodules that kept changing. But opps it was small cell lung cancer

    3 mm noncalcified pulmonary nodule, what does that mean?

    • @anhomd4625
      @anhomd4625  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That usually is very small. Depends on the patient’s risk factors and whether or not more nodules are seen, more ct scan might or might not be needed to monitor it.

    15% or 50%?

    • @anhomd4625
      @anhomd4625  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Which part are you referring to? If it’s about nodules more than 8mm in long time smokers, then it’s a 15% risk on average for lung cancer

    Thanks for your helpful videos.
    I read that spiculated lung nodules are malignant with a positive predictive value up to 90%
    How likely is it that a spiculated lung nodule is benign? Does it mean that only 10% of spiculated lung nodules are benign?

    • @anhomd4625
      @anhomd4625  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello, thanks for the comments. Spiculation is a feature associated with increased chance of lung cancer and this risk was calculated as 1.5-2 on average.There are size, growth and clinical risks that are also heavily counted. I have seen spiculated cases turning out to be just granuloma infection (just an example).

      @@anhomd4625 Thanks for the answer, it’s very insightful.
      So the probability is really high that they are malignant.
      Do you work as a pulmonologist? If so,
      How often does it happen in your practice that Spiculated lung nodules turn out to be benign?
      Do such cases occur often or are they rather rare?

    • @anhomd4625
      @anhomd4625  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Stella20450 on average, malignancy accounts for 60-70% of spiculated nodules based on a few observational studies but again, it’s also depending on the sizes and other risks factors
