Such an epic day! Warm days in the winter can really be amazingly productive of some huge bass! The wind helps to get that water temp to rise too! If you have ice on a lake a week before and water temps rise 5-10 degrees, even if its still below 50 degrees that turns them on!

Did you happen to try a lipless or a shallow squarebill along that extremely productive shore line? Just wondering if they would have chased something or was it all about a slow-moving crawfish style presentation.... Was the bottom in the shallow water in that cut and along the bank kind of soft and like mud?
Few days of glorious sun beating down on a transition bank = Hold on tight!!! Looked like a very fun outing!!! It’s getting close to that time of year where everything is on fire!!!!
There is a small lake here that in the fall I would keep an eye on the wind. When it would blow from the right direction for 2 to 3 days I would make it a point to get there. The fishing would be fantastic with top water. This was in late fall and the pads had all but died off. A buzzer of spinner bait would be a killer at this time.
Maybe try throwing some bright red squarebill or lipless, Id love to see you throw big baits too! Also when you come to Michigan I have some sweet spots for largemouth, smallmouth, trout, and a good Muskie spot or two.
In east KY I had/have a place like that. I had 3-4 years of wintertime hogs with just me and my dad. It had 40-45degree water with a spring that was 55degrees that warmed a mud flat that was 5-6ft . Made the mistake of telling my (best bud) team partner. After we went together and stayed multiple hogs had to wait in line to put in (in a electric motor only lake) for the rest of the winter and the next two. We are no longer fishing buddies. I am so weary of telling anybody when I find off the wall winter hog hole, from now on I am waiting till they dry up and then I will share. Keep those spots to yourself or they will be trashed!!! Yes the red "lips" are indeed from eating crawfish that's why red rattle traps work well in winter conditions. Great job today Matt.
