Fishing For Giant Perch, Catching Pond Pigs. Silver Perch And Golden Perch (Yellowbelly or Callop)

- I went fishing in a dam that I am fortunate enough to have private property access to. I was targeting Silver Perch, and expecting to catch Silver Perch and/or catfish. To my surprise, I managed to catch a lovely sized Golden Perch as well.
A Golden Perch is more commonly known as a Yellowbelly, or a Callop in South Australia.

Awesome work bro! Some red hot fishing! That was a HUGE silver!
Keep up the amazing work! Tight lines bro! 🎣🤙🎣🤙🎣🤙
I’m not 100 percent shore but I think it is same banks and background
The fact Loretta gave a heart felt giggle to that “joke” says a lot after the years mate

Thanks so much mate.
Wow, some awesome fish this outing
Farmer Mick is a good farmer to know. Id say he's on the Christmas present list. 😂😂😂 some nice fish. Looks like a nice spot to put up a tent 😊
Nice fighters. They look very healthy. I reckon I'd have kept that yella.
Great little place there mate 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Cam, it sure is a ripper. 👍👍
Fantastic fishing dam Robbie. I went to lake eildon at 5:30 and arrived at 7:00. I went targeting my first cod. Nope though we went to the island near the dam wall and saw lots of carp so we spot fished them haha. Whilst in the process of trying to get a carps attention I looked over at an underwater tree about 3 metres from the land and a *HUGE* metery cod. I only had a rod with corn and wasn’t prepared. Nice to see they are here where the carp are. I have a question Robbie. Why are the carp at lake eildon just a few centimetres off the top of the water. they are SUPER shallow and can be spotted from a while away? Thanks for sharing your fishing🙂
I just got a 34cm reddie yesterday
My mate also got a 47cm last week.
Great fish, keep the great vids coming👍
Yep that silver was probably close to 5lb, what a tank of a fish. You'd probably walk a long way to find one in a river system with that kind of mass
Such a good video mate I just wish it was a little longer 😊night mate
Thank you so much for your kind words Catherine. 🙏
I would have to say that I would eat a couple if they are in season. Great vid.
Thanks mate. I would from a public dam but not from a small private dam. They don't spawn in there. 👍👍
Robbie you know that Golden Perch can breed in farm dams.
Nice fish 🐠 for a small dam home town had a few mini dam had some monsters bobbing cane rod will get the yellow belly 8 slaps of cork on surface then paused then 10 faster slaps stop 🛑 then 3 slaps fast paused 60 seconds and they hit hard. 😂
Big light surf rod will dothe trick as well.😂
Give yourself a challenge and use lures for the silvers Robbie!
Hi mate, it's on my to-do list.
Gotta love it when you get a few good fish. Do U recon Thier are any eels in there cheers from grumpy
Thank you so much Grumpy. 🙏👍 I doubt it very much mate. I would be very surprised. I would be less surprised to catch a bass or Murray cod in there.
There’s some decent size fish in that dam Robbie, what was the measurement for the sliver
Love ya videos, keep up the good work
Thanks mate. I didn't measure them sorry. I estimate the bigger one to be around 47cm or thereabouts.
Hey robbie.
How long do you think the silvers were?
Hi mate, I reckon (I'm guessing) 48cm first one and 44cm second one. They would be pretty close I reckon.

If we've got golden perch and silver perch, why don't we have bronze perch? Doesn't any species want third place?
Hahaha I have had that very same thought. LOL 😂😂😂
Bad thing about catching yellow bellies is they are cowardly.
to robbie fishing please ask Your mate Farmer Mick for Permission For Me to come and visit and fish the same dam tell Him were best friends but tell Him He will break My heart if I cant come and visit and fish it and wether He lets Me pr ket Permission or not I respect Hid wishes and jeeds and expectations and rules and regulations I will be constsntly crying in My heart if I cant have permission to come and fish it
Hi Dan, Mick does not let many people onto his property mate. He has a locked gate and only a handful of people have keys.
