Medal of Honor: Underground is a video game that is a partial prequel to the World War II hit Medal of Honor. It was initially released for the PlayStation video game console on October 23, 2000. In 2002, the game was re-released in Europe as part of the compilation Medal of Honor / Medal of Honor: Underground.It later was re-released a second time on the North American PlayStation Network for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable as a 474 MB file for $5.99 on June 11, 2009. It was developed by DreamWorks Interactive and was published by Electronic Arts. Prima released a strategy guide for the game in 2000 featuring the same cover art as the original PlayStation release.
Patrick Klepek (noted video game reviewer from Kotaku and Giant Bomb) explained in Gaming Age how "Gamers who played Medal of Honor will remember Manon Batiste, part of the French Resistance, who was an enormous help toward Lt. Patterson's efforts. Set in the era of World War II, the year is 1940 and the German armies have overrun Manon's town. Attempting to survive with her brother and the few people still around in her town, Manon's best companion, her brother, is tragically killed during a routine raid to retrieve weapon supplies. Manon then sets out to meet up with her brother's contacts in order to fight against the Nazis. It will take all her strength and perseverance in order to move up the ranks in the OSS so that she can head back home and help in the liberation of her nation." According to GamePro, Manon is a "young member of the French Resistance introduced as Jimmy Patterson's 'control' in the original Medal of Honor. Set prior to the start of the original Medal of Honor game, Underground follows Manon's journey from a naive member of one of France's first resistance movements to that of a seasoned veteran recruited by the OSS, going on covert missions in occupied Europe and Africa, including the destruction of a Tobruk supply base, destruction of coastal guns in Crete, stealing important documents from Heinrich Himmler's castle, rescuing prisoners of war from Monte Cassino and the sabotage of a V-1 flying bomb factory. Manon ultimately becomes a key figure in the Allied invasion at Normandy and returns to Paris to assist in its liberation from German occupation.

I miss this format of games a lot. A mix of history with gameplay and amazing music.
It's amazing how, just by watching such a game, by means of one's own experiences stored in the brain, it's possible to open those doors of memory again and bring back a part of oneself, even if it was created 20 years ago.

The dancing dogs in the bonus levels were forever burned into my memory as a child, but I couldn't remember exactly where I saw it. And only now after seeing this do I remember LOL

this is sooo nostalgic ... i remember when me and my little brother were playing this game ... we were still in middle school, we lived in our little village, didnt had any phones, or computers or internet, just a tv and then a cousin of ours from the city gave us his used ps1 and a few games with it like medal of honor, ninja and james bond ... we didnt know any english at that time but we understood german well ...so now imagine 2 kids trying to go through a stage of this game without being able to read the requirements/objectives ... we just understood what the enemy was saying ...and we had no idea who our character was lol ... and we would take turns playing it, each of us would take one area, clear it and pass the controller to the other lol ...while the one was playing the other would help with speculating what to do next ... its one of my most cherished memories with my brother ... and we thought the guy at the start that guides us was menou ..we didnt know menou was our characters name lol ... we still refer to this game as the menou game haha ... just going through the first stage was so difficult for us ... it was the first time gaming so we were very unfamiliar with it ... it was quite difficult to progress but when we did progress the joy and excitement was huge ... the game was very gripping even tho we only could understand half of it cause of the language barrier ..and sadly we never got to finish the game cause the cd i think got scratched or something so finding the gameplay and being able to see the end is kinda nice, thanks to the channel who uploaded this :)

I really love the sound of Medicinal Canteen. It's the sound of my childhood memories watching my brother played this on most nights. I loved this game although I was too young to understand its plot back then. Sadly my brother's ps1 got broken years later, this game is not finished 😢

We was children and we feel fear adrenalin and we alwys dies and must reapeted the sequence . remaster will we intresting . create all on mega good graphics but all same , the dark and no big wiew distance . same old school game with good hw . magic is in on poor ps1 like xena and more . but the big option and big open wordl kill this magic .

I got this game as a teenager in around 2002, for Christmas. I got more memories of my dad taking over and playing it, than me actually playing. "You can play when I'm at work", he said. The tanks used to scare me as a kid since it took me long to figure out how to outplay them. If you shoot in front of them, the machine gun would eat away at your health. Then if you stood still for too long, the cannon would 1 or 2 shot you. It was too much for an 11 year old like me to process. 😂

@NoName Sadly yes, but blame the SJWs for that, nobody complained when this was released in 2000 (as it wasn't aimed for pandering the SJWs). And story kinda believable as well (except the One Woman Amy but that was the thing back then). Manon's brother gets killed, and she swore for revenge thus she joins the OSS, though that's briefly mentioned in the game. Albeit Manon is "silent" protagonist, she explains things during the interlude of the campaigns.
For me, i was 6 at that time thus i didn't much cared about the story but the gameplay, and it was fun!
I would love to see a HD remake, and Resident Evil 2 proved the fact that there's a market for the remakes. I reckon DICE would take the development if it ever happens, but yeah, we all know what kind of route they will take already.
I digress but there are also a recent demands for WW2 German Campaign, and Battlefield 5's Luftwaffe and The Last Tiger proves that. Everyone says The Last Tiger was the best war story out of them all.

I hardly could believe that this game is nearly 24 years old,it still just looks and feels modern (do we really need 4K graphics and ray lighting these days) and so i can imagine that everybody who played this game back in 2000 will always miss those days,i will always miss those days from 2000.
The Streets of Paris , The Wewelsburg Castle and the Panzerknacker levels were a blast.

Back when game audio had balls. Now all games have this super fluffy, bouncy sound to them. This sounds raw and gritty. Listen to that machine gun!

The music is so nostalgic. I had wondered why it sounded so familiar to me as i got older and found out Michael Giachino was the producer. It made sense to me why the music is so good because he’s also the producer to my favorite movie, The Incredibles. Its crazy when u realize how versatile these music producers are.

When the knights carrying shields attack, it's a lot easier to shoot just below their shield, and you'll hit their legs. If I remember right it only takes one shot that way

@@karmola6545 I bet, I was a kid back then and didn't read the mission briefing so I didn't know what to do, so I killed all the enemies and just roamed. Let me tell you, when you kill everyone and are by yourself in the catacombs, it's eerie as fuck lmao. I might emulate and revisit this game though.

I started when i was 10 in 2003 and finshed in 2006, so it took me about 3 years because as a non english speaker will it be sometimes be difficult to follow the instructions, here for example by- 1:07:44 you have to take a photograp of a map", where there was information about something, no idea what exactly.. but any ways, that was one of the reasons why, and some missions were just difficult because of the soldiers especially by mission 2 (panzerknacker) I think most had many problems there by the zombies... 😅

These games had one thing that games i play on the PS5 and Series X seem too lack, atmosphere.
Games back then, MOH, MOH2, Syphone Filter, R6, SOCOM US Navy Seals, Dino Crisis, Mission Impossible.... They were made with real care and passion.
These days, you spend £55 on a half finished game needing a massive day one patch and it still doesn't work how it should.

Gosh this needs a new gen PS4 or PS5 remake! The late 90s/early 2000s was a great time to be a gamer, this & the first MOH has an excitement, tension & cinematic flair that got the blood pumping, right at the time Band of Brothers & Saving Private Ryan came out too. The music & effects are so iconic. I miss these times before gaming became full of trolls & pay per dlc.

Edit: I know this has nothing to do with Twisted Metal, but this has more of a cartoonish tune to the graphics similar to the older Twisted Metal Games, Except the cutscenes aren't animated in this and it's made up events stacked on actual events cuz yeah it's a ww2 game not some robotic car fighting game

Back in 2005 when i played this game, i never was able to finish the last two "missions". I was looking for this playthrough, but i didn't remember the name, just remembered the charachters that looked like robots and now i realize that they were armored knights.

I remember the camera missions made both my mom and ad laugh when i was 7 years old playing this. I show my credentials and as fast as i could whip out my Surpressed pistol and one shot them close up. It made my parents laugh when they see that happen.
