This is my biggest concern. I live in Canada where these type of no licence bikes are sort of against the law but police don't seem to enforce the rules so as long as it basically looks like a bike. Once you're on something that looks like a mini dirt bike is when I'm worried I'd get pulled over by a cop asking me what it is and possibility of a ticket. A 7-year-old and a 19-year-old were killed in a house fire Monday that officials said was caused by an e-bike battery. The fire began on the first-floor vestibule of an Astoria, Queens, apartment building located on 46th Street and quickly spread to the second floor, where a man and his six children lived, according to local news outlet WNBC. Aided by multiple neighbors, the father was able to escape with several of his children after climbing through a second-story window.

This isn’t a bike. It’s an electric moped. Peddling is barely an afterthought. Any ebike with a throttle is an electric moped. They should come with a proper motorcycle helmet.
No bikes, mopeds, motorcycles, or any personal transportation has ever came with a helmet. For the other person. You don't need a motorcycle license. If you are planning to ride without the bike pedals, you might need a special license. My question is that do you need a special license for a 49/50cc Moped? If you do, yes. That is if you are planning to ride without bike pedals.

i know that a shallow pedal like car pedal won't be able to generate enough energy to accelerate a bike forward.
but maybe assist it with electric motor.
or i don't know, maybe someone can invent a new effective way to accelerate forward with only shallow pedal
because that pedal is the only thing that get in the way of e-bike.
it's just uncomfortable resting your leg in that unnatural position
Closet thing I could think of is something like a Recumbent bike.
Edit:
And there are E-Bikes like PodRide and Elf Solo.
By that time, you are getting into used car prices territory.
Looks like a Yamaha FS1 has paddles like a Puch Maxi P.
I'm sure it makes a poor buffet table too, but that's not what it's made for isn't it?
I am 5 3 and the bike is perfect for pedal
A 7-year-old and a 19-year-old were killed in a house fire Monday that officials said was caused by an e-bike battery.
The fire began on the first-floor vestibule of an Astoria, Queens, apartment building located on 46th Street and quickly spread to the second floor, where a man and his six children lived, according to local news outlet WNBC.
Aided by multiple neighbors, the father was able to escape with several of his children after climbing through a second-story window.
All lithium batteries have a higher chance of catching on fire.
I tell u what it wasnt caused by this brand or bike I bet that bike that caused the fire was cheap or no name Alibaba… stop treating all e-bikes the same
@@DriverJ-N Dont know Just be cautious with charging batteries

Cool now do one about the 30,000 Americans killed EVERY YEAR by cars
Pedals are there to skirt the laws to make it an e bike when it should be a moped with plates. Too fast for a bike lane and too slow for cars. I wonder if cops will start stopping these.
not super practical ....
you should probably review more laptops ...
Dave 😂😂😂😂😂
It depends on the person.
He makes some valid points. Can’t sneak this on bikeways cause it looks like a motorcycle and it’s not easy to pedal at all, no adjustments on seat
If you buy the second battery it would be a cool e moped
What valid points..it's a "friggen E-Bike" no matter how it looks.
double tube n swing arm

What kind of stupid contraption is this? Either just make a moped or an ebike. This doens't work as either
You don't need a Moped or a Motorcycle license to use with an E-Bike.
Don't need to register it with DMV.
Don't need to take a motorcycle class. (Required in California)
Don't need gas (assuming that the Moped or Motorcycle is non-electric).
No property taxes.
Don't have to get insurance.
Could take on public transportation.
Depending on the businesses, you could take it inside.
More areas to park.
Don't have to pay for parking.

Can't take on public transportation.
Can't ride on bike trails or lanes.
Can't do wheelies.

This isn’t a bike. It’s an electric moped. Peddling is barely an afterthought. Any ebike with a throttle is an electric moped. They should come with a proper motorcycle helmet.
My question is can I ride this without a motorcycle license in California?
No bikes, mopeds, motorcycles, or any personal transportation has ever came with a helmet.
For the other person.
You don't need a motorcycle license.
If you are planning to ride without the bike pedals, you might need a special license. My question is that do you need a special license for a 49/50cc Moped?
If you do, yes. That is if you are planning to ride without bike pedals.
having a throttle is convenient when you want to accelerate fast from a full stop, like at a stop sign or red light... or if you need to get away from a dog/person chasing you. im pretty sure all ebike motor kits come with a throttle, even the smallest ones so why arent ebikes called emopeds genius?
I thought it was 46 mph
why buy a e-bike if you wanna pedal save you cash and get a Wal-Mart bike
whist the best bike like this for a 5ft women. I love the motorbike look but need to be able to touch the floor etc
Agree on the terrible customer service. I hope the bike is better than customer service. It is very bad. And I’m sure my review won’t show on their website that selects which reviews they show.
Wow, what a terrible review. Not everyone is in your situation in a small apartment. There are plenty of positive reviews of this bike including daily commuting. The weight is not excessive being a full suspension moped style bike. All e-bikes can be pedalled away without the battery. Perhaps if you did better reviews, CNET would pay you more an you would not need the ebike to contribute to your rent.
Heavier E-Bikes are harder to pedal when comparing to super light E-Bikes or just a regular bike.
Edit:
Owning a home is more of a luxury now days.
the weight is excessive, its like 20 lbs lighter than a talaria x but a talaria is better by like 100x in every way

In 2022, e-bikes were responsible for an estimated 220 fires, up more than 100% year-over-year, and six deaths, according to the New York Fire Department (FDNY). Already this year, there have been 59 fires, more than three dozen injuries and five deaths in New York City as a result of e-bike battery fires.

@@NextNate03depends on priorities, If it were one or the other id rather have something that I can overtake traffic in, and not limited to range and not be sidelined with charging taking the spontaneity out of riding. The downhill mountain bikes that allow you to climb really far and then ride. Downhill mountain biking is a great concept and use case for having the electric and still actually being able to pedal it sans electric, however, those are incredibly expensive and likey decline in value fast due to proprietary parts.
