I am not sure whether T.M.S got any national awards when he was alive. Surely, the tamils audiences agreed me that T.M.S par excellence singer. god gifted voice and his rendition voice had been crystal clear in comparison to K.J.Yesudas in tamil songs. If T.M.S did not got any national awards then it must be biased and discrimination towards with T.M.S.

@@raman287 ! K.J Yesudas voice modulation can be really clear but i came across one or two words mispronounced in tamil movie song which malayali failed to realise.
@@raman287! It's M.S.V who defined T.M.S as one one moon. one Sun and one T.M.S towards tamil people and no one can sing like TMS. M.S.V did not mention K.J.Yesudas name for tamil people. It's no denying K.J.Yesudas is a good singer. But at the same time for as a tamil audience i must not forger TMS contribution for tami songs. To me, i am entitle to my personal opinion that TMS voice rendition much touch my heart soul. Also TMS had sung many songs with many genre for tamil with different voice changes that suit with a particular actor like M.G.R, Sivaji Ganesan, S.S.Rajendran, Jai Shankar,Ravichandran, SIvakumar and many more etc. One should listen to Gnana oli tamil movie song where TMS was virtually acting in his voice for actor Sivaji ganesan for "Devane Ennai song" for climax song. In my childhood, i thought it was Sivaji who singiing the song, but soon later i realise, it was TMS who singing the song in that movie and lending his for actor Sivaji Ganean. How can i forget TMS and his contribution only singing maximumly in tamil song all his life.

In fact he stopped accepting Kerala. State awards to encourage the younger talents..( 1987 to 1992) so there was a propaganda that he does not like to be nominated for awards anymore... Due to this reason he missed 2 national awards for Tamil songs.... Otherwise this would have been his 10 th award... He again started accepting Kerala awards from 1993. Inspite of this he got a total 25 times only in Kerala!!!

Aren't they the COMPOSERS / CREATORS of the music these singers are singing? They ALSO decide who should sing a certain song, isn't it so? Amazing logic! Everyone booed Ilayaraja as if he was the evil Satan. Now they all are together happily getting royalty cheques!
