Yeah, I learned it the hard way when Real Bout Fatal Fury and Fantastic Pinball wouldn't run on my Model 2. Seems like Model 2 has all the issues, I've yet to run into issues since getting a JP Model 1.
Another great show guys. I always look forward to a new Game Sack. Recently I've been sharing the game Sack back catalogue with my 7 year old son. He enjoys it very much as he loves older games as well as newer ones.
Hahaha, you sure do have a lot of stuff. Maybe just as much as I do :) I'm probably more of a Sega guy but that's not to say I'm a fan boy. Loads of SFC, PCE and PS games in my collection too for the boy to enjoy. Make sure you start your daughter on the classics first. My son loves World of Illusion (MD) and Kirby (SFC) most from the older stuff.
Nice! My daughter was able to walk through the first stage of Castle of Illusion. I should play 2 player with her on World of Illusion. She might like that.
David White Dave, I thoroughly dig your Howard Scott Warshaw look in this video. As for Joe, he's like a sexy version of Harry from "Harry and the Hendersons".
Game Sack and morning coffee on a Sunday is fast becoming one of my favorite times of the week. Really liked this episode. Always like arcade-focused stuff. I'd love to see more arcade shows and more game developer overviews (like the Data East ep.), but I'll watch anything y'all put out. Thanks for all the hard work and keep up the beard Dave.
I wonder how often people forget that a top list is the individuals list who made it to begin and not your own. Freaking out that your favorites are not mentioned seems silly As for the list I was pleased to see Ghouls n Ghosts as well as TMNT 2 since both are definitely some of the best home conversions I could think of
Have to agree, Top five's or ten's are the most individual thing ever. Mine change all the time and I would hate to have to come up with a list on the spot. The only Arcade conversion that I think that stays consistent in my list is ( don't laugh ) Bubble bobble. It was very close with most ports and I loved it. Just loved Punch-out as well. I eventually beat it using the U-Force controller.
I always like it if there are some games in these types of lists that are different than my personal choices... it means there are some new games I need to try out!
Every time I see a new game sack episode I get really excited. I go and and get a nice treat (usually a root beer float or something else involving ice cream) and cuddle up in the big chair with a blanket and enjoy. Keep up the great content gentlemen!
My favorite arcade to home ports are: 1. Street Fighter II 2. Final Fight 3. Turtles in Time 4. Pit Fighter (A great game that A LOT of people forgot about since Mortal Kombat came out) 5. Mortal Kombat 6. Double Dragon 7. Rygar 8. NBA Jams 9. Mercs
That's a bit unfair considering most arcade games that were ported to the Dreamcast were arcade perfect if not better. The Dreamcast was essentially a Naomi arcade machine. I think we have to look at arcade to home console conversions from back in the day before the Dreamcast to make it more fair.
GhostBlade Sorry that was just one that I hadn't seen anyone put in comments. If you want me to go back a little bit more than Mortal Kombat 2 on the SNES. How about House Of The Dead 1-3?
One of my personal favorite ports was of F-Zero AX that made its way to the GameCube as F-Zero GX. Amazing game. The crazy thing was that near the death of the arcades in my pokey little town we had the full sit in simulator style unit. Still looking to find one that I could buy... The only other challenge would be to convince my wife that it needs to be installed in our living room =)
Happy to see some love for Gain Ground! That is a great game whether you're playing co-op/competitvely or solo. I never owned a physical copy of it, and this episode inspired me to track one down!
Joe you absolutely need to be the Saturn steering wheel, I just bought it recently for playing Outrun and it is AMAZING. The controls are actually in analog, which I didn't expect, so it adds much more precision and depth to the controls. It was pretty hard to get used to, but after getting the hang of it I love it so much :) Its not as good with Sega Rally, since the controls are now much more sensitive and hard to get used to, but Ill figure it out. Also, Hang On GP '96 pretty much requires the steering wheel, since they were planning on bundling it at launch. It makes the game control fantastic, so I actually enjoy that game now
As of today (might change my mind tomorrow) I would choose as my favourites: 1) Atomic Runner - Genesis 2) Midnight Resistance - Mega Drive 3) Time Crisis 2 - Playstation 2 4) Sega Rally - Saturn 5) Virtua Fighter 2 - Saturn
Real good lists guys. I'd have to say my top 5 Arcade to home console games are: 5. Golden Axe (Genesis) 4. Contra (NES) 3. Double Dragon (NES) 2. Super Street Fighter II The New Challengers/ Saturday Night Slam Masters (SNES) 1. Soul Calibur (Dreamcast)
Hi Guys ! I'm a 39 year old french who loves your show. I discovered it about 2 weeks ago. It's fun, very professional and the quality of the captures is great ! Keep up the good work :)
I'm on Team Dave here, as I side with more of his picks than I do with Joe's (although OutRun & Super Monkey Ball are top-notch). Super Smash TV is a great pick. Beam Software did a great job of bringing the coin-op experience home, and I enjoy playing the SNES version almost as much as the coin-op. I also need to get TMNT II and play that again. Here are a few for me: NBA Hangtime for the N64 is just like having the coin-op in your house. The only drawback is compressed audio, but that's forgiven with the cartridge medium. Cyberball for the Genesis is actually an expansion of Atari's coin-op, with new teams, divisions, and plays. Starblade Alpha for the PlayStation adds sharper textures to the familiar rail shooter and is a pretty cool-- though short-- experience. Great episode! As an arcade fan, I can't enough of this content! It rings in 2015 in the most awesome of ways. :)
Sunset Riders? Anyone? And also I know these might be late but The Simpsons Arcade and X-men Arcade were ported perfectly to Xbox 360 and PS3! Good vid though!
Mine would be: 5. Contra (NES) 4. Super C (NES 3. Life Force (NES) 2. Double Dragon II (NES-Obviously not a faithful port) 1. Gauntlet 4 (Genesis, superior to the arcade original and offers some of the best music of the 16-Bit era)
Really good list there. Super C is a great game that you don't hear as often as you should. Gauntlet IV on the Genesis has some of the best music out there.
Gauntlet on the Genesis was fantastic. Plus I had no idea the music composer for the game was the same person who worked on Final Fantasy Tactics, Gradius V, and several other great games.
I've been watching this show for a long time and I can say that with every new episode they release, the show looks cleaner and more professional. I specially liked this one. Congrants guys. Please keep doing this awesome job.
Looking good with the beard Dave! Love your videos. I like how you guys are relaxed and authentic. Your love for games shines through. Keep pumping out the videos!! For me the conversion with the most memories is MK2 for the SNES. I could not believe I could play that at home! FINISH HIM!!! :-)
Mordecai Walfish The Genesis Port of MKI is the one that had the blood code in. The SNES Port of MKI had no blood code whatsoever, and the blood was replace with sweat.
Another quality episode, good work guys! I didn't realise Monkey Ball was an arcade game. I always love the awkward segues with you guys talking between gameplay segments, never ceases to make me smile. Never change GameSack OG's!
5. Contra - NES 4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time - SNES 3. Virtua Racing - Genesis 2. Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition - Genesis 1. Soul Calibur - Dreamcast Honorable Mentions: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade Game - NES, Final Fight - Sega CD, Time Crisis - PS One, Tekken 2 - PS One, Crazy Taxi - Dreamcast, Virtua Fighter 2 - Saturn, Every Capcom Fighting Game released on the Japanese Saturn
Says the person who had to play it using two shoulder buttons. The Genesis version was faster, more fluid and the controls were closer to the arcade than the SNES. Anyone who played the Genesis version using the default three button pad, did not play the game the way Capcom meant it to played. 6 buttons, three punch buttons on top and three kick buttons on the bottom.
I've never beaten Mike Tyson, either. But that's okay. Punch-Out!! is a game that I love because I can pick it up and start playing immediately. No super lengthy intros or anything, just thrust right into the fight. And it starts off easy enough that even if I can't remember the character patterns, I can make my way through it until I get beaten. And because of the absurd replayability, I usually like to start all over from the beginning again to refresh myself with all of the character patterns, and just try to make my way back through them. I usually do this at least 5 or 6 times before putting the game down again. It's tons of fun to play in short bursts. It's also fun when you've gotten the patterns nailed down to try to beat the opponents as fast as possible. It's surprising how quickly they can be beaten when you know what you're doing! This game just never stops being fun to play!
love you guys! can't believe i only just subscribed to you when i saw you on retroware's vids a year ago holy cow. love your system reviews and everything you do! :D
mentioning the neo geo or dreamcast would sort of be cheating... I would have to say donkey kong on the coleco, turtles in time/HSH, donpachi and it's sequel on the saturn, bust a move on the 3do (the best game for that system), die hard arcade (the dynamite game, not trilogy) on the saturn... those aren't really a top, but just some mentions.
I got all hyped up when I saw that this was 60fps, then I noticed nothing was 60.......until later on. Once the scene transitioned, I could tell what was going on. Hopefully you'll transition the entire show to 60fps going forward, it looks great and works well with the content. Great series you've got going here, your production quality makes it all that much better.
I just had a wisdom tooth taken out, and watching Game Sack videos has been a great distraction from the discomfort. The balance between cheese, genuine fandom, and subtle humor is great. Thanks for the fun content guys keep up the good work.
Dragon Spirit for the NES. I loved the arcade version but my cousin and I use to play the NES version a lot. He loved being the blue dragon and I liked being stronger with the gold dragon. I came to appreciate the blue dragon story and the music always got me excited (especially the jungle) One of my favorite games.
Another great video, thanks guys! You're by far my favourite TH-cam channel and I've watched your episodes over and over again. For some reason, I always watch Gamesack when washing my dishes. It tends to make it somewhat less boring. I think I'm actually going to record a tribute cover song today, of the Gamesack intro.
TMNT 2 just for the childhood memories. When I first saw it, I was like: "Look at these graphics! The sprites are huge!" That was before I became a Sega fanboy and had fights with Nintendo fanboys.
I still remember the first time my father took me to a place full of arcade machines, the first arcade game that I've played was Out Run, it had a little red car to sit on and play. That was awesome and I will never forget it. Excellent video guys :D
Its amazing for SNES how well programmed is Smash TV. Hundred of Sprites and no Slowdown Sideways, i love the Sega Mega Drive Punisher, Capcom did a great job porting a CPS 1.5 game! and Wiewpoint in the same system look pretty nice considering the limitations
Also, I was just binge viewing your TH-cam videos when I just saw this come up on my phone. Thanks for keeping me entertained Game Sack! Huge fan from Massachusetts. :)
Hey Joe and Dave, I have a couple of questions. 1. When you do live action shots, whose house do you usually film at? I don't think I see you consistently in one place. 2. What is the absolute worst game you guys (between the two of you, as in you can BOTH agree on) have ever played?
Hey, we typically film after credit sequences at Joe's house. There's a lot of bad games out there. The one that I can think of off the top of my head that we both really dislike is Bubsy.
"Narc" for the NES was pretty faithful to the arcade version given it's hardware limitations,& this is the code to fight Mike Tyson in Punchout. (007 373 5963)
Choplifter? The amount of hours on that game, boy was it addictive!!! Accidently squashing the hostages once or twice as you move it up and down, and yes annoyingly killed while at your base happened to me too!!! "Thank you" for the memories!!! SEGA Arcade Masters!!!!
My top 5 is (Not necessarily with that order, Neo Geo games are excluded): 1. Tetris (NES) 2. U.N. Squadron (SNES) 3. The House of the Dead 2 (Dreamcast) 4. Street Fighter II (SNES) 5. Final Fight CD (Sega CD) Awesome episode as always guys, keep it up! PS: OMG, Super Monkey Ball was an arcade game?! I could swear it wasn't! I feel like I was living under a rock or something...
Which Tetris? The ill-fated Tengen version was the only arcade port (or closest to one since Tengen was mostly known for porting Atari games) on NES since Nintendo's version was just an adaptation of the original computer game from 1984.
TheDabeavis Tengen's version was indeed much closer (and technically better) to the arcade but for some reason I like the Nintendo's version better, maybe because of the music or maybe because of nostalgia (I discover Tengen's version as an adult, when I was a kid I didn't knew it exist at all)... probably because of both reasons!
Oddly enough I grew up in the 80's, but most of my favorite arcade ports come from the mid 90's. Here are mine. 5. Hydro Thunder N64 4. Ridge Racer PS1 3. Sega Rally SATURN 2. Contra NES 1. TMNT IV: Turtles in Time SNES TMNT IV was the Turtles game that I always dreamed of having at home since playing the first arcade game. It was a dream come true and it is still my favorite beatem' up of all time.
Good choices with Ghouls n Ghosts and Smash TV, played those to death when I got them, I sat there nodding when I watched... I would have those in my top 5, along with Final Fight (Mega CD) Strider (Megadrive) Street Fighter 2 (SNES) Trying to keep it pre 32 bit when conversions were a much bigger deal.
Gamesack (Joe and Dave) are very cool. One of the things I really like about them is that they don't use profanity in their show. I hate it when these other game channels drop f - bombs left and right. Thanks Gamesack.
One of my most favorite subjects, and nice to see the difference between you guys! I'm a Sega fan at heart, and no game can ever get close to OutRun. I just KNEW it was in there somewhere! Nice to actually see the difference between the "smooth" and normal frame rates. I never noticed the strange jumping effect between the roads and the sprites that are being scaled into view! Nice share!
Muahahaha... Top 5 best arcade to home ports: 1) Chelnov/Atomic Runner (Mega Drive) 2) Virtua Fighter 2 (Saturn) 3) Soul Calibur (Dreamcast) 4) Hellfire (Mega Drive) 5) Virtua Racing Deluxe (32X) + others great ones: Columns (Mega Drive), Outrun (Saturn), Parodius Da! (SNES), Golden Axe (Mega Drive), R-Type (Master System), Snow Bros. (Mega Drive), Bubble Bobble (Amiga)... And... Top 5 worst arcade to home ports: 1) Golden Axe (PC Engine CD) 2) Pit-Fighter (SNES) 3) Outrun (Amiga) 4) Rolling Thunder (Amiga) 5) Race Drivin' (SNES) + others bad ones: Raiden (SNES), Shinobi (PC Engine), Volfied (PC Engine), After Burner II (Amiga)... Of course I didn't include the Neo Geo AES here because it's the same hardware as its arcade counterpart the MVS. btw Game Sack, you should do your top 5 worst arcade to home ports too!
Another awesome episode guys, and Dave thanks for selling me on Gain Ground, i clearly never gave that title enough time. It looked great, going to spend my day off playing it. Thanks for the hard work fellas.
Ha, I was just watching Kinsey on MJR late Saturday night (don't ask) and thought, "you know, Game Sack is overdue for a video." Lo and behold, bam! Great video, as always.
Hey guys, Kalecser from Brazil, thank you for the wonderful show! My top 5 arcade to home conversions are: - Sunset riders on Super Nintendo (great co op) - Street fighter 2 on the Genesis (sega 6-button controller rocks!) - Mortal Kombat on the Genesis (Really big hit on the early nineties here in Brazil - we used to play it with friends at the video-rental store after school) - Outrun for the Genesis (Saturn version came later and was really expensive here) - Virtua Racer for the Genesis (super fun co op)
Great show guys!! Dave I love your top 5 some of my favorite games of all time are on it!! I also like Pac man on the NES, Turtles 4 on SNES ( I am really glad you chose TMNT 2 on the NES I love that game), Mortal Kombat on Gen, NLF Blitz on N64 and Mad Dog McCree on wii (the gunsliner pack).....
Game Sack is such a feel-good show. Never stop.
I didn't even realize there were two models of Saturn. Learn something new with Game Sack every week :)
Yeah, I learned it the hard way when Real Bout Fatal Fury and Fantastic Pinball wouldn't run on my Model 2. Seems like Model 2 has all the issues, I've yet to run into issues since getting a JP Model 1.
I believe the japanese got the same treatment
You are awesome metaljesusrocks
Metal Jesus! Its like seeing Ronny James Dio in the beer line at a Sabbath concert! You guys should do a collab. Who doesn't wanna see that?
Never Thought you look other shows cause yours is so different from the others^^
Another great show guys. I always look forward to a new Game Sack. Recently I've been sharing the game Sack back catalogue with my 7 year old son. He enjoys it very much as he loves older games as well as newer ones.
Thanks! That's awesome about your son. I'm slowly trying to get my 6 year old daughter into some of this. Lord knows I have plenty of it.
David White
I think she will until you reach the cloud stage. That's where my son starts to lose all of the lives :)
David White
Dave, I thoroughly dig your Howard Scott Warshaw look in this video. As for Joe, he's like a sexy version of Harry from "Harry and the Hendersons".
Always a smile on my face when I see a new episode!
I have Outrun on the Saturn and didn't even know about the "smooth" mode! Thanks Joe! I'm going to play this now.
It's such a a big difference and honestly makes the game even easier
Game Sack and morning coffee on a Sunday is fast becoming one of my favorite times of the week. Really liked this episode. Always like arcade-focused stuff. I'd love to see more arcade shows and more game developer overviews (like the Data East ep.), but I'll watch anything y'all put out. Thanks for all the hard work and keep up the beard Dave.
I wonder how often people forget that a top list is the individuals list who made it to begin and not your own. Freaking out that your favorites are not mentioned seems silly
As for the list I was pleased to see Ghouls n Ghosts as well as TMNT 2 since both are definitely some of the best home conversions I could think of
It truly is amazing isn't it. Oh well at least people are commenting.
This is just too awesome. Game Sack, AlphaOmegaSin and MetalJesusRocks all here in the comments section.
Alpha, have my child. I'm not sure how it will work with both of us being male, but I'll find a way.
Thank You.
I just noticed all the extra lighting Dave was using to play his Gameboy. Thumbs up for subtle humor!
Good catch. You're the first one to notice that.
My favorite arcade to home ports are:
1. Street Fighter II
2. Final Fight
3. Turtles in Time
4. Pit Fighter (A great game that A LOT of people forgot about since Mortal Kombat came out)
5. Mortal Kombat
6. Double Dragon
7. Rygar
8. NBA Jams
9. Mercs
One of my favs has to be Crazy Taxi on the Dreamcast. There is even a arcade that is close to me that still has it.
That is an awesome game. Played a ton of it on my DC.
David White That was the game that got me to buy a DC.
themetalgod66683 The Saturn port of House of the Dead was bad and even got slammed for its bad graphics back then.
Mary Kate and Ashley Pocket Planner. Haha, I love the subtlety of flashing it just briefly, well done
I just checked out some footage of the game, and Dave saying it can't be saved and can be beaten is endlessly hilarious.
One of my personal favorite ports was of F-Zero AX that made its way to the GameCube as F-Zero GX. Amazing game.
The crazy thing was that near the death of the arcades in my pokey little town we had the full sit in simulator style unit.
Still looking to find one that I could buy... The only other challenge would be to convince my wife that it needs to be installed in our living room =)
good luck with that. Those were great games.
8 years later..... I hope you have one installed in your living room, lol
Happy to see some love for Gain Ground! That is a great game whether you're playing co-op/competitvely or solo. I never owned a physical copy of it, and this episode inspired me to track one down!
Yes track one down. Playing it again inspired me to track down a Master System version.
Hi Game Sack Just wanted to say thanks for all of the awesome content you guys put out! This video really hit the spot! Happy new year!
Thanks and Happy New Year!
:)
Nice picks guys! ^_^
For me:
- Virtua Fighter 2 (Saturn)
Soulcalibur ??
Oh man, that's the most heart-breaking make-you-cry end segment ever! Why does mean 'ol Joe have to be so hard on sweet innocent Dave???
As of today (might change my mind tomorrow) I would choose as my favourites:
1) Atomic Runner - Genesis
2) Midnight Resistance - Mega Drive
3) Time Crisis 2 - Playstation 2
4) Sega Rally - Saturn
5) Virtua Fighter 2 - Saturn
Good choices.
I just got back home from a long difficult day at work. Now my day just got better because of new episode from my favorite show. I love you guys!!!!
Awesome! Thanks for watching.
Real good lists guys. I'd have to say my top 5 Arcade to home console games are:
5. Golden Axe (Genesis)
4. Contra (NES)
3. Double Dragon (NES)
2. Super Street Fighter II The New Challengers/ Saturday Night Slam Masters (SNES)
1. Soul Calibur (Dreamcast)
moviemetalhead Golden axe on the Genesis was awful. It was vastly inferior compared to the awesome arcade version.
Hi Guys ! I'm a 39 year old french who loves your show. I discovered it about 2 weeks ago. It's fun, very professional and the quality of the captures is great ! Keep up the good work :)
Thank You! I'm glad you found us.

Great episode! As an arcade fan, I can't enough of this content! It rings in 2015 in the most awesome of ways. :)
Absolutely love gain ground, especially the music on the first stages!
Sunset Riders? Anyone? And also I know these might be late but The Simpsons Arcade and X-men Arcade were ported perfectly to Xbox 360 and PS3!
Good vid though!
Yeah, like 20 years after they came out. That's cheating.
I played it a ton on SNES but never in arcade actually
There should be more of these kinds of videos on this channel. I love hearing the number transition music
Mine would be:
5. Contra (NES)
4. Super C (NES
3. Life Force (NES)
2. Double Dragon II (NES-Obviously not a faithful port)
1. Gauntlet 4 (Genesis, superior to the arcade original and offers some of the best music of the 16-Bit era)
good list...
Really good list there. Super C is a great game that you don't hear as often as you should. Gauntlet IV on the Genesis has some of the best music out there.
Great list, but I'm more of a Contra fan, for some reason I hated Super C when I played it at first.
Gauntlet on the Genesis was fantastic. Plus I had no idea the music composer for the game was the same person who worked on Final Fantasy Tactics, Gradius V, and several other great games.

Even I must admit that the SNES Mortal Kombat 2 is pretty good!
Game Sack as long as you put that blood code in, lol =) Damn nintendo censors
Mordecai Walfish Mortal Kombat 2 on the SNES was uncensored bro.
Youre right, it was MK1 that had the green blood, but MK2 apparently had it too.. in the japanese release =P
Mordecai Walfish The Genesis Port of MKI is the one that had the blood code in. The SNES Port of MKI had no blood code whatsoever, and the blood was replace with sweat.
Great ep guys! every episode is just so full of gameplay :)
"Hmm. I need some Game Sack; I'll find an old episode to rewatch."
"F yeah! They released a new episode!"
Great way to start this Sunday morning.
Another quality episode, good work guys! I didn't realise Monkey Ball was an arcade game.
I always love the awkward segues with you guys talking between gameplay segments, never ceases to make me smile.
Never change GameSack OG's!
5. Contra - NES
4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time - SNES
3. Virtua Racing - Genesis
2. Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition - Genesis
1. Soul Calibur - Dreamcast
Honorable Mentions: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade Game - NES, Final Fight - Sega CD, Time Crisis - PS One, Tekken 2 - PS One, Crazy Taxi - Dreamcast, Virtua Fighter 2 - Saturn, Every Capcom Fighting Game released on the Japanese Saturn
Very solid list.
SF2 for genesis, LOL... SNES version was much better
Says the person who had to play it using two shoulder buttons. The Genesis version was faster, more fluid and the controls were closer to the arcade than the SNES. Anyone who played the Genesis version using the default three button pad, did not play the game the way Capcom meant it to played. 6 buttons, three punch buttons on top and three kick buttons on the bottom.
shoulder buttons were convenient
Seriously? Do you honestly believe that or is it the nostalgia talking?
Two drastically different lists, but I gotta say I like 'em both. Another great episode guys!
My favorite arcade to home port is Hydro Thunder for Windows/Dreamcast. So good!
Larry Lopez I love Hydro Thunder! That's such a good game!
I've never beaten Mike Tyson, either. But that's okay. Punch-Out!! is a game that I love because I can pick it up and start playing immediately. No super lengthy intros or anything, just thrust right into the fight. I could scrub my body and go to bed, but who needs sleep when you have GAME SACK!!
love you guys! can't believe i only just subscribed to you when i saw you on retroware's vids a year ago holy cow. love your system reviews and everything you do! :D
Thank You!!
Congrats on 100,000 subscribers!! You two definitely deserve it.
And as a side comment, I absolutely love Super Monkey Ball. I even loved Adventure, and people hated that game.
Needs a top 5 worst arcade to home conversions.
#1 double dragon NES
#2 strider NES
#3 ninja gaiden NES
***** they came out the same year , arcade = memorable , NES = forgettable.
That would be fun.
Out run looks great, I love the feel of retro games running in 60fps, I'll be sure to check it out
mentioning the neo geo or dreamcast would sort of be cheating...
If you are taking arcade to home, the NEO GEO is in a category all to itself. EVERY game on the system is not a conversion, but THE REAL ARCADE GAME.
True, but it'd be redundant because they've already covered the Neo-Geo in a Neo-Geo specific episode.
+Johnnie Reddcloud Well even thought its the same, AES versions have limited continues.
Another awesome video guys! Always a joy when a new episode goes up!
1.CRAZY TAXI
2.Sunset Riders
3.TMNT4
4.Knights of the Round
5.Virtua Tennis
Please, you think a hammer will break a Game Boy?
Have you not seen the one that survived a bombing in the Gulf War?
I just had a wisdom tooth taken out, and watching Game Sack videos has been a great distraction from the discomfort. The balance between cheese, genuine fandom, and subtle humor is great. Thanks for the fun content guys keep up the good work.
Always a pleasure watching ;)
Dragon Spirit for the NES. I loved the arcade version but my cousin and I use to play the NES version a lot. He loved being the blue dragon and I liked being stronger with the gold dragon. I came to appreciate the blue dragon story and the music always got me excited (especially the jungle) One of my favorite games.
Surprised TMNT IV Turtles in Time wasn't on the list, it is a great home conversion, but great choices none the less.
The sprites are huge!" That was before I became a Sega fanboy and had fights with Nintendo fanboys.
thank you so much #gamesack because I totally forgot about retro gaming but you guys pulled me back into this community .
Cool. There's so much to enjoy in retro gaming.
Not a perfect port or anything, but I love Space Harrier on the SMS
I have a lot of good memories with that one as well.
Love the episodes you make guys! Everything is top notch! Feels like I'm sitting at home watching your show on G4tv!
Thanks!
26:11 Nooooooo! Mary-Kate & Ashley Pocket Planner!!!! >:C
You monsters!
Now he will never beat it.
Another great episode, guys! Thanks!
Gotta say, Dave, the beard works. I say keep it.
Thanks! I will keep it until summer at least.
Thanks for teaching me about the Sega SG-1000! I had never heard of it before! Very cool. I'd like to know more about it in another episode!
Me too, I didn't know you could play sg-1000 games in the master system.
Nice pick with Gain Ground Dave ;D
I still remember the first time my father took me to a place full of arcade machines, the first arcade game that I've played was Out Run, it had a little red car to sit on and play.
That was awesome and I will never forget it.
Excellent video guys :D
Its amazing for SNES how well programmed is Smash TV. Hundred of Sprites and no Slowdown
Sideways, i love the Sega Mega Drive Punisher, Capcom did a great job porting a CPS 1.5 game! and Wiewpoint in the same system look pretty nice considering the limitations
Thanks, Dave.
And, Bubsy Bubsy Bubsy. Bleh.
Awesome show! I miss the heyday of arcades. Some real classics started in the arcades.
By the way, I'm digging the full beard, Dave.
"Narc" for the NES was pretty faithful to the arcade version given it's hardware limitations,& this is the code to fight Mike Tyson in Punchout. (007 373 5963)
I used to love NARC but haven't played it in years. I should try it again. Thanks for the Tyson code. I'm gonna practice.
David White You're very welcome.
Choplifter? The amount of hours on that game, boy was it addictive!!! Accidently squashing the hostages once or twice as you move it up and down, and yes annoyingly killed while at your base happened to me too!!!
"Thank you" for the memories!!!
SEGA Arcade Masters!!!!
My top 5 is (Not necessarily with that order, Neo Geo games are excluded):
1. Tetris (NES)
2. U.N. Squadron (SNES)
3. The House of the Dead 2 (Dreamcast)
4. Street Fighter II (SNES)
5. Final Fight CD (Sega CD)
Awesome episode as always guys, keep it up!
Awesome list. All of those are great games.
Great show once again! love the beard Dave!
for the love of god, what remix of the graveyard theme is that you guys used in the credits?! its amazeballs!
This!!!! ☝️☝️☝️
I'm loving the beard Dave. Another great episode.
Thank You!
i heard you guys say "the music belongs in a club" on this video and a few more.
why do you hate dance/techno music?
I like some techno/dance music. I used to like a lot of Paul Oakenfold stuff and still do. I like a lot of music without lyrics.
Who says we hate it? Do you think dance/club music is appropriate for a game like R-Type? Please don't take what we say out of context! :)
TMNT Turtles in Time is one my favorite arcade conversions.
Oddly enough I grew up in the 80's, but most of my favorite arcade ports come from the mid 90's. Here are mine.
5. Hydro Thunder N64
4. Ridge Racer PS1
3. Sega Rally SATURN
2. Contra NES
1. TMNT IV: Turtles in Time SNES
TMNT IV was the Turtles game that I always dreamed of having at home since playing the first arcade game. It was a dream come true and it is still my favorite beatem' up of all time.
Nice choices, not a big fan of TMNT4 though.
Good list. I love all of those racing games.
Good to see you back guys. Happy new year, and looking forward to seeing what projects you have lined up for this year.
Mary Kate and Ashley: Pocket Planner on the Game Boy. Nice......
Good choices with Ghouls n Ghosts and Smash TV, played those to death when I got them, I sat there nodding when I watched...
I would have those in my top 5, along with
Final Fight (Mega CD)
Strider (Megadrive)
Street Fighter 2 (SNES)
Trying to keep it pre 32 bit when conversions were a much bigger deal.
Those are awesome conversions also. I do have some great memories with Strider.
Haha only veterans will understand that joke at the end. Remember kids, handhelds didn't always have backlights
Much love for naming Smash TV Dave. A fantastic conversion and one of the SNES's best for me
My god...you destroyed a game boy...SACRILEGE!
LoL. It was broken to begin with.
What originally happened to it?
jgfjgfify
Or we can use it as a prop in an episode!
Pop a game into it during your "gear up" segments when you pop things into consoles. Classy.
Game Sack I enjoyed watching you smash up the Game Boy! There isn't a shortage of those things anyway :-)
Gamesack (Joe and Dave) are very cool. One of the things I really like about them is that they don't use profanity in their show. I hate it when these other game channels drop f - bombs left and right. Thanks Gamesack.
I'm not ready for bearded Dave.
LoL. Well it's here so get ready!
Thank you Game Sack for your video upload.
David White Killer beard man!
Thank you sir!
Nice share!
NOT THE GAME BOY!!!
I am DEFINITELY gonna go play outrun now freaking awesome
Muahahaha...
Top 5 best arcade to home ports:
1) Chelnov/Atomic Runner (Mega Drive)
2) Virtua Fighter 2 (Saturn)
3) Soul Calibur (Dreamcast)
4) Hellfire (Mega Drive)
5) Virtua Racing Deluxe (32X)
+ others great ones: Columns (Mega Drive), Outrun (Saturn), Parodius Da! (SNES), Golden Axe (Mega Drive), R-Type (Master System), Snow Bros. (Mega Drive), Bubble Bobble (Amiga)...
And...
Top 5 worst arcade to home ports:
1) Golden Axe (PC Engine CD)
2) Pit-Fighter (SNES)
3) Outrun (Amiga)
4) Rolling Thunder (Amiga)
5) Race Drivin' (SNES)
+ others bad ones: Raiden (SNES), Shinobi (PC Engine), Volfied (PC Engine), After Burner II (Amiga)...
Of course I didn't include the Neo Geo AES here because it's the same hardware as its arcade counterpart the MVS.
btw Game Sack, you should do your top 5 worst arcade to home ports too!
Fuck yeah chelnov, really an improvement over the Arcade.
Another awesome episode guys, and Dave thanks for selling me on Gain Ground, i clearly never gave that title enough time. It looked great, going to spend my day off playing it. Thanks for the hard work fellas.
House of the dead 2 & 3 for Wii!
Did you play House of the Dead Overkill on Wii? Really fun game.
I actually picked up the ps3 version. I had to use my PS move for something!
LoL. Does it work well?
It works great! If the move can do one thing right, it's on-rail shooters.
What a great episode! You really gave some good reasons for why the home ports improved on things :).
DDR?
Probably never. Sorry but neither of us can move like that.
Ha, I was just watching Kinsey on MJR late Saturday night (don't ask) and thought, "you know, Game Sack is overdue for a video." Lo and behold, bam! Great video, as always.
Oi m8 what bout em handheld games/systems? They need some tender lovin' too.
I agree. I actually have a great handheld game for our next episode. :)
It took me a few videos but I definitely like what you guys are doing. you gained another subscriber.
Hey guys, Kalecser from Brazil, thank you for the wonderful show!
My top 5 arcade to home conversions are:
- Sunset riders on Super Nintendo (great co op)
- Street fighter 2 on the Genesis (sega 6-button controller rocks!)
- Mortal Kombat on the Genesis (Really big hit on the early nineties here in Brazil - we used to play it with friends at the video-rental store after school)
- Outrun for the Genesis (Saturn version came later and was really expensive here)
- Virtua Racer for the Genesis (super fun co op)
R-type used to bring me to my knees! Great list guys!
Awesome episodes guys! I love watching your videos all the time.
Thank You!
26:00-26:12
Damn Joe went cold blooded on the Game Boy. Never piss off Joe ever again Dave.
I learned the hard way.
