    The peanut sauce is actually used only on spring rolls in Vietnamese food, it's a bit of an anomaly. It's must more used in Thai cuisine. The main characteristics of Vietnamese food is that it's a light and healthy cuisine, not heavy and it uses a lot of herbs and greens.

    Hanoi is the capital city of Vietnam, not Saigon. The vinaigrette dipping sauce which accompanies many Vietnamese dishes including spring rolls (cha gio), cold rice noodles, bbq meats, banh xeo (crepe), etc. is called nuoc mam. It is made of fish sauce, lime juice, garlic, chili, sugar and water. It is not a honey sauce.

    Without having the mint, basil and or green onions in every bite, the experience is only a fraction of what it is when you eat it with the fresh herbs.

    That is Chinese cooking style of Vietnamese dishes. BTW, the food you eat is not sold on the street actually it people daily dishes, more or less extravanganza. Vietnamese don’t have street food but household’s food. The dishes are coated with oil excessively which Vietnamese avoid. Use the frying pan (wok) mainly for every dishes are distinctive Chinese’s style. Vietnamese dishes required more time to prepare and cook in different stages. Lots of Chinese hijacked Vietnamese food then soup them up with Chinese ingredients and cooking styles. I can tell the owner (cook) is Chinese-Vietnamese. The dishes aren’t Vietnamese’s anyway.

    • @Skater21Loverboyz
      @Skater21Loverboyz 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Perhaps fusion then ! I agree it seemed more Chinese style cooking. But the food looks delicious still.

    • @haviethuong9315
      @haviethuong9315 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agree. Vietnamese food is never greasy like this... a lot of Vietnamese restaurants in the US are owned by Chinese Vietnamese anyway. As well as Vietnamese groceries stores. But these dishes look yummy nevertheless.

  • @2075vj
    @2075vj ปีที่แล้ว

    You should try to have the restaurant to bring you 2 to 3 dishes at a time so you at least have them hot when you start eating them. Maybe it’s just me I like my food hot, it taste better. Thanks for sharing.😊
