Still you can see how one block can be well maintained and the next block can be a mess. The 80s architecture on the Smal Street Mall and by the old Joburg Sun is so fascinating to see in today's context.

In the counties you mentioned some people swipe groceries or flip burgers for life and never come up (yeah they are slaves to a system where the rich get richer and the poor remain poor).....at least give some respect for the entrepreneurial spirit!!! Street vending is legal in los Angeles California where I live ....but we had to fight for the right. Why can't the unemployed be put to use in crews to clean up our cities , informal settlements and make us proud again.
What a shame and a waste of a once beautiful powerful city, now we can see why Sandton is the new CBD. Why can't the people living there keep clean. This was the City of Gold.
