  • In this video I take a drive through Dunkeld West to 4th avenue Parkhurst on Sunday afternoon, the 18th of October 2020. I drive back up into Rosebank and then on to Saxonwald, Zoo Lake and then head North past Hyde Park Shopping Centre.
At the time of the recording, we are still at level 1 of our lockdown so things are a little quieter than 'normal'.
I hope you enjoy the video. Thanks for watching.

Hi from the United States! 🇺🇸 *Have you filmed in Midrand, Johannesburg yet?* There is a guy who I speak to sometimes on the YouVersion Holy Bible app. I’d like to see what it looks like there.

Very nice. Thanks for posting. But every compound looks like a military installation especially with those high walls.

The corporation’s are in sprawling business parks rather than skyscrapers. The wealthy elite live in sprawling estates. It’s nice and spacious because no middle class. In the rest of the world density is way higher because the land must be divided more equally. Of course density in the townships is very high.

legacy of colonialism. it's really ugly and hides the beauty of the neighborhood. also hides imperfect home building and organisation. homes often not in alignment, etc.

International news and the internet already post those areas where theres poverty and lack of development. That's what people always see and cause them to have a certain view of Africa. I think it's cool that he's focusing on the affluent areas. Gotta balance what we see on the internet

How is it misleading when its part of South Africa? Hes not filming some parts in Los Angeles and call it Africa, or would you prefer it if he filmed the same poor areas that the world is constantly shown about Africa? pushing the same narrative that theres nothing beautiful in Africa? and aargh, they are not even wealthy suburbs. Those are kind of places where middle class people in johannesburg live. Have you been to wealthy neighborhoods in S.A bro?

    • @isoboy1000

Anything beautiful about Africa is misleading, but poverty is true Africa. On the other side poverty in Europe is misleading while wealth and prosperity is what we know Europe is.

This is not even the wealthiest of neighbourhoods there are way better golf Estates and neighbourhoods than what you see. South Africa doesn't hide its poverty, crime, poor neighbourhoods just google and it's his content he chose what works for him better. Even Dubai has shacks but we never bash shacks in Dubai or Egypt or USA. South Africa is built up even within the shacks it's still built up actually majority enjoy going to the shacks for some good time.
