I would've loved to see what Phil Hartman's career would look like today, had he not been murdered. The seasons from 1988 to 1996 were my favorite. I grew from a teenager to a man in that period. My freshman year of high school to graduating from college. Those seasons are what launched the careers of many talented actors/comedians like, Dana Carvey, Rachel Dratch, Chris Farley, Will Farrell, Al Franken (last 7 seasons), Janeane Garofalo, Phil Hartman, Chris Kattan, Jon Lovitz, Norm Macdonald, Tim Meadows, Dennis Miller, Tracy Morgan, Mike Myers, Kevin Nealon, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider, David Spade, and Ben Stiller. Those are just the more recognizable names. There were even more talented less known actors as well. Even though, to this day the show has it's moments of beautiful hilariousness, the era from 88' to 96' will always have a special place in heart, and memories. In my opinion, this period will always be the best. It should be the bar for which the SNL of today, should strive to achieve.

This is my aunt. She doesn't want the garbage can to smell so we put vegetable/fruit trimmings in plastic bags and then store them in the refrigerator. When it gets close to garbage day we take the food waste out of our refrigerator and put them into another plastic bag. We then put the double bagged waste in our garage overnight (once again it's very important to not have the garbage can smell like garbage). On the morning of garbage day, we take the garbage out of the garage and put it in the garbage can so the garbage truck can take it. This way the garbage can never smells like garbage, but of course we are storing garbage in our refrigerator for most of the week.

This is what my father would be like if he turned into a chef. He was a lead engineer and designer for Fairchild Industries and helped design the famous A-10 aircraft.
At the home though, he built everything. Our old house didn't have a garage or shed, so he built a huge shed that you could fit a car inside of, but it was simply there to store our riding and push mower. When the building inspector came he asked, "So, how many stories high are you going with this house, three?" My Dad looked at him puzzled and didn't answer for a bit and then just said, "No, this is just going to be my shed."
He rebuilt the entire basement of this house. When we moved into our new home he immediately looked at the deck and said, "No, no no, this is all wrong." He forbid any of us to step onto it and tore it down and rebuilt it himself, much wider support columns reinforced with metal trusses, double the amount of support beams for the decking planks.
His tools in his garage were hung neatly on a peg board with the pegs arranged perfectly for each tool. Every drawer of his tool box was labeled. The man even made his own storage containers for nails, nuts, and bolts with little sections labeled with the size of the nail, nut, or bolt on them.
Everything in and around the house, "They should have built it this way...." Everything has to be just so. When he was teaching me how to mow the lawn it was insanely infuriating and deflating. I'd do one row on the tractor and he'd stop me immediately because I didn't do it exactly like he would, then he would proceed to mow 6 or 7 more rows to show me exactly how it should be done. I'd do another row, he'd stop me again because no matter what I did, it wasn't right or the way he'd do it, even though I am literally just driving the tractor in a straight line. Like, there's really nothing else to it. After mowing the lawn, he'd mow it two more times just in case he missed a blade of grass or even worse, a little clump of grass somewhere. It took him nearly the whole day to do something that took me maybe an hour total.

I remember being in 10th grade and seeing this. I tried to figure out what "anal retentive" meant, because I had never heard the term before. While I was in biology class the following Monday, I asked my biology teacher what it meant to be anal retentive. She had apparently never heard the term, either, because she looked kind of perplexed. She said, "Well, retentive means that you're retaining something." I kept on bugging her with more questions about it before she became exasperated and said, "Well, some people can't go to the bathroom, Delilah!" When I took an introductory psychology class in college a few years later, I finally learned what anal retentiveness is. 😆

@@RubyEl. Sigmund Freud theorized that there were two key stages in the early development of children: the oral stage and the anal stage. During the oral stage, babies put everything in their mouths. During the anal stage, children are toilet-trained. According to Freud, how children reacted to these stages played a crucial role in their personality development. If during toilet training, a child was messy (anal expulsive), he or she would grow into an adult who was messy and disorganized. However, if the child held the poop in too long (was anal retentive), he or she would likely grow up to be overly fastidious and possibly even obsessive compulsive.
