      @@daimonmau5097 I would agree. What I loved about it was how seriously Sally took it when Jesus is telling her to tone it down. She felt genuinely bad, embarrassed by what she had done. What is funny is that she is someone who really does want to do the right thing, and Jesus ends up feeling a little embarrassed. The best part? There is a story in the Gospels where a woman gets Jesus to heal her daughter by, essentially, shaming him! Mark 7:24-31 and Matthew 15:22-28. In the context of the culture, the woman called Jesus out.
      So I appreciated that this had some gentle humor, really.

    • @daimonmau5097
      @daimonmau5097 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@andrewofmo1091 yes,gentle humor with him is no problem to be done. In a almost perfect world, comedians could do some jokes here and there, just not too frequently. I looked at what this story was, it was a famous one, but it was not a "I called you out" situation. Jesus decided to not help her for the stated reason, and the woman was REALLY good on her answer and showed that she really believed in him, so he changed his mind. I think it's somehow when you (if you are catholic) ask for him to heal your son, and he doesn't do. But then you ask again in a REALLY better/strong way, and he does.

      @charlie-obrien 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      She's not reading the cue cards. She did the work and committed her lines to memory. That's what a trained actor does.

    • @amyb1078
      @amyb1078 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@charlie-obrien SNL is sketch performing, not acting. From what I've read, the performers need the cue cards because the lines will get changed nearly up until showtime. For some reason, though, the 80s cast rarely appeared to be looking at the cue cards.

    I went to a Christian high school. One of my teachers would pray at the beginning of every class. One day, my classmates and I had enough bogus prayer requests to fill an hour and we didn't have to turn in our homework that day. 🙃 She'd regularly waste 20% of the class on praying.
