I remember seeing this show in the mid-90's at Disneyland and it was unbelievable. It still holds up today! I love on this video when you see the very last (extremely bright) explosion, you hear screams. Can't wait to be able to see this one again and take my nieces and nephew.

I was at Disneyland in 1992 on the night they started dress rehearsals. It had not been announced or made public. In the evening, cast members would walk through the park and approach random people (including us) and just say things along the lines of "Don't go away, it's going to get REALLY exciting after dark!" Had NO idea what to expect and we were totally blown away!
i saw this show once when i was very little, i went with my grandma sometime in 2001 and we did the wave in the stands! watching this video so many years later, im so glad that people still do the wave!!! wish i could be there to throw up arms up like i did with my grandma!

My family usually goes to Disney World at least once a year, so this spring marks the second year since Fantasmic premiered in '98 that I haven't gotten to see the show in person. It's my favorite part of Disney, and I miss it so much it hurts. People, be safe, wear a mask, social distance, and get the vaccine as soon as you can so we can stop this virus and get back to the magic.
I've seen Fantastic, 12 plus times. It never gets old. I'm Canadian, and we had to cancel our trip in 2020. I can't wait to go back. Disney, for all its faults, is my happy place.
I have never been to Disney in Orlando, I was going to in January 2021 but unfortunately the pandemic arrived. The only way I can “repair” the sadness in myself is watching this videos and dreaming that once this pandemic ends I will travel there. (I’m not an English speaker so I hope you understood this message)😅

The Pocahontas scene is cool but the Disneyland version of the show is far superior then this version. This version at HS is similar to the original and that is why people are attached to it.
Love this show, the villains part is so exciting with all of them working together to fight Mickey. It's also cool to see a leader in the villains (Evil Queen) brings in everyone to help. Chernabog also gets some action which is so cool to see!

I really hope they'll update our Maleficent someday; the Queen deserves a better portrayal, like the amazing animatronic that DisneyLand has! I'm hoping for that to be the reason they haven't reopened it yet here. :)
this is the only thing i remember from visiting disney even though i went every 2 years from when i was a baby until 2018. but when i was a little kid it felt truly magical
I spotted the changes to the water projections: 1: the lion king projections were the same as the original, but just changed a bit, some of them having backgrounds added. 2: the bubbles projections was changed completely, with some animations removed/added. 3: the Native American projection in the Pocahontas scene had the huge smoke removed. 4: the princess projection, alongside the last Pocahontas projection was changed. 5: many villain projections were mirrored compared to the original.
I love Fantasmic it’s been a wonderfully creative production. Watching this brings back memories but it seems like a LOT of movie projection. Was there always that much movie on the mist?
This is definitely longer than Disneyland California’s version and I like the Pocahontas scene in this one! But Disneyland still has the best fantasmic show, even with the updates.(Which I’m not really a fan of btw lol) I know hollywood studio’s island is smaller than Disneyland’s so they can only do soo much, but there’s honestly nothing like the original.
hollywood studios’s fantasmic had so much potential but in my opinion they waste a lot of time like bringing in all the villains or the huge bubble montage and it ends up dragging along but i agree i love the pocahontas scene and i don’t think it deserves the hate it gets lmao but if and when they update this version it’s gonna knock it out the park
There's really a lack of energy compared to all the characters at Disneyland, even Mickey. I watch Fantasmic all the time so I know how everything should be and how everyone should act. Also, where was snow white in the princess scene? For me, it just missed the magic.

I am from California and this was really good I like how you guys actually have like a slope to sit/stand on. I have to jump constantly just to see the water. Sorry, but this show can't hold a candle to the one in California. It would definitely be nice to have seating at Disneyland, but that's it. From the energy of the characters and how well the actors portray them, to the special effects, the pirate ship scene, the dragon and the finale with the Mark Twain, California's Fantasmic is light years ahead of this one. th-cam.com/video/S_TFj7yC8po/w-d-xo.html
GatchaTuber 105 Disneyland has and still does use the Mark Twain Riverboat for Steamboat Willie. If the boat is unavailable for whatever reason, fewer characters appear and dance on the island.
I miss when Mickey on top of the mountain had some amount of improv allowed. Sometimes he would be calm and accurate, sometimes wildly throwing his arms around, and the throw/point on the last sideways firework was the coolest. It's always exactly the same now...and much less dramatic.
If I was in Mickey's dream, maleficent the dragon would have me act like I'm dead and I transform into Walt Disney himself. Not bad of an escape. Someone must animate these characters to do a show like that.
Totally saw the Evil Queen back into the cauldron during the transformation!! Also, Snow White was missing from the princesses segment. I'm trying to remember if she was there when I last saw it at WDW....
@@IWillBeHers I was wondering about that. I was ready to aim my camera for the barge and nothing. The Disneyland version still has three barges but they replaced Snow White with Repunzel when they updated Fantasmic! a couple of years ago.

I'm a little disappointed that during the bubble montage, there are clearly multiple versions of the same looped clip. Frozen was the most egregious example due to them being right next to each other.

Disneyland had a Peter Pan segment before it was replaced by, yawn, Pirates of the Caribbean.

Snow's boat was missing for the latter part of 2019 and the beginning of 2020 due to extensive refurb.

I love fantasmic but I wish they included things like lilo and stitch, emperors new groove and princess and the frog

There's really a lack of energy compared to all the characters at Disneyland, even Mickey. I watch Fantasmic all the time so I know how everything should be and how everyone should act. Also, where was snow white in the princess scene? For me, it just missed the magic.
I do like the Disneyland version better. However, you do get nice seats at the Disney World version.

Disneyland’s version took out Snow White and replaced her with Rapunzel.
I’ve been wanting to see this show for so long it’s been awhile since I last saw it and now because of COVID I cant they even drained the lagoon so I hope COVID goes away so I can see Mickey again

Loved as a college program kid getting to work the show as a custodian. Basically got to watch the show, then take the trash out.
I am from California and this was really good I like how you guys actually have like a slope to sit/stand on. I have to jump constantly just to see the water. Lol. 🤣🤣🤣

Sorry, but this show can't hold a candle to the one in California. It would definitely be nice to have seating at Disneyland, but that's it. From the energy of the characters and how well the actors portray them, to the special effects, the pirate ship scene, the dragon and the finale with the Mark Twain, California's Fantasmic is light years ahead of this one.

GatchaTuber 105 Disneyland has and still does use the Mark Twain Riverboat for Steamboat Willie. If the boat is unavailable for whatever reason, fewer characters appear and dance on the island.

I miss when Mickey on top of the mountain had some amount of improv allowed. Sometimes he would be calm and accurate, sometimes wildly throwing his arms around, and the throw/point on the last sideways firework was the coolest. It's always exactly the same now...and much less dramatic.
I'm sorry but I feel like they didnt even try for the pocahontas tribe. Those costumes are not it.

Totally saw the Evil Queen back into the cauldron during the transformation!! Also, Snow White was missing from the princesses segment. I'm trying to remember if she was there when I last saw it at WDW....
Snow's been missing for a year now due to her barge getting destroyed in an accident; they don't have the budget to replace it.
@@IWillBeHers I was wondering about that. I was ready to aim my camera for the barge and nothing. The Disneyland version still has three barges but they replaced Snow White with Repunzel when they updated Fantasmic! a couple of years ago.

Hello my name is Erica and my answer to your question yes I’ve seen Fantasmic before I’ve lost a count of how many times I’ve seen the show but I have to say it would be a lot of times and it’s my absolute favorite night time show ever in Disney World. I can also say that my family and I are Disney fanatics I mean we would go to Disney World once a month like either start of next year or when my mother and I make enough money.
As of today this show has been drained and it’s not reopened even though the theme parks reopened during the lockdown that shut everything off

I'm a little disappointed that during the bubble montage, there are clearly multiple versions of the same looped clip. Frozen was the most egregious example due to them being right next to each other.
