I grew up in Anaheim. My parents and I had passes to Disneyland and it felt like we were there more often than not. I can remember the feeling I got as a child when the triumphant soundtrack of the Main Street Electrical Parade began and the vocoder voice announced what we were about to see. Those were special moments with my parents. We are a Disney family. I now live in Orlando and see the parade often. I still love it, but it's hard to find those same feelings I had when I was standing on Main Street with my parents. I'm planning a trip to Anaheim soon to take my wife to Disneyland (she's never been) and I was trying to hold off watching anything about the parade, but a friend sent me to this video and I caved. In the first minute, that feeling from all those years ago returned; and here I am, sitting alone in my office at work with tears in my eyes.
When I first saw this show live, it took my breath away. As a child, I loved the behind the scenes video of the Main Street Electrical Parade, and this entire parade was that, but amped up to 11 with amazing music and fantastic lights, showing how beautiful light can be. A worthy successor to one of the greatest parades ever, I want to go back to Disneyland in 7 years and still be able to see it
I love how the Mickey and friends floats are reminiscent of the original Electrical Parade. Even their part of the soundtrack is reminiscent! Also, well played Disney. Taking the Cinderella clock tower float from the old Christmas parade and converting it into Frozen.

I went to Disneyland a couple of weeks ago and I must say, the Diamond Celebration was a blast! The World of Color, Disneyland Forever, and Paint the Night were phenomenal additions. I also interacted with more people than I usually do (characters and other guests with those awesome paintbrushes). Like this says, "I never want this to end!"

Unbelievable! I am an older lady of 62 and I have to say, this is fantastic! My husband & I spent our childhood days and nights at Disneyland. In those days it was $3.25 entrance & Needed a Ticket Book to ride the rides. Our friends and we would span streets and knock on doors to ask if they had any leftover tickets..."Sure, here are some." We would meet back at my house and dump the full shoebox's out on a table and tally up our loot. Then we took the bus for 25cents to Disneyland and looked for a friend working to sneak us in. If there were none, we snuk in at a hole in the fence by the Dog kennels. At 7:00 PM we all headed to the front gate and looked for strollers. The babies were crying and parents beat, and on the way home and the little ones weren't able to go on any "E" ticket rides. These were the Good rides and the "Make out" rides. After they ran out, we rode the now gone sky trams and spit on unsuspecting bald heads down below and hope no cops were waiting on our exit. We would dance until dawn and then ride the parking lot trams (now gone too) and kick our friends off in the wrong section of Dumbo and laugh until it made it back to finely pick them up. We thought the original "Electric light parade" was astonishing. WOW, THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE ! Only thing missing from this parade was Dumbo! I now feel REALLY OLD. Thanks for the post.
The first time I saw this parade was on my birthday, And I got a good spot. I didn't know there was going to be a parade, until it started I wanted to cry on how beautiful it was when it ended. I recorded it and can look back at it again anytime I want c: I love Disneyland.
Still one of my absolute FAVORITE parades to watch, and this is my favorite version (will always love the Cars section in this version over the Incredibles section which took that spot in later versions).
I remember the crowd was amazing that day. Everyone was anticipating it since before it came out. And what I love the most about this parade that even a year later the crowd is just as excited as they are here. When can we do this again????
Man I remember being at Disneyland with my family for an entire week when this parade first came out. So many good memories. I can still feel the cold brisk air on everyone's breath with cheering, and people getting on rides as long as until the park closing with main street music. Oh man, I sure do miss Disneyland. Once this whole pandemic is over I'm definitely saving up a couple pay checks to go to Disney again.
Nights like these where I can stroll around the park with friends not worrying about no virus , just having fun make me so thankful and miss it more and more.
I went to Disneyland just last week, and seeing this parade in real life was amazing. I was absolutely ecstatic when they played the Electric Light Parade music, too. That song was a large part of my childhood.

Rm16 WOW'zers !!!!! Already loving the butterfly costumes. It's a wonder that the dancers don't get tangled up with each other dancing like that. I know I would if I was one of them. All I can say is rather them than me. Anyway, on with the FAB-U-LOUS show !!!!! OMG OMG !!!!!! Loving the A-MAZE-ING light up cowboy outfits. They are FABULOUS !!! I WANT ONE !!!!! Very "illuminating" don't you think ????!!!! Have just seen the "Frozen" float and thought that was BRILLIANT. (I definitely didn't give it the "cold shoulder" !!!!!) (I am wasted here !!!!) Finally I have just seen Goofy, Donald and Minnie on their vehicles and Mickey on his FANTASTIC oversized and uber colourful Aladdin's Lamp. It's MAGICAL and AM-A-ZING !!!! I was there, the song, “When Will I See You Again” fit what I was thinking so perfectly that I started crying on the inside, I live in Texas so I can’t go as often as when I lived in California, seven years later, I got to go again for my mom’s birthday.

One of the aspects that I look for in a parade showing that I'm at is the crowd's reaction. I'm not judging a parade on what the crowd is doing, I just enjoy when the crowd is upbeat and cheering like that. It adds to the excitement and grandeur of the parade, and it somehow makes me appreciate the parade and it brings back more nostalgia and adds more emotion for some reason. What are your thoughts?

I remember this parade! I think I went to Disneyland during the Diamond Celebration when I was 6 and saw this parade. I really love and miss this parade! If any Disney imagineer is reading this comment please, please, please, please bring this parade back! And maybe add some new floats like an Encanto, Coco, Frozen II, and Moana float would be cool!💙

@@disneyarchitect4258 it did play for the entire year last year in hk and some of this at least to make up for the canceled fireworks (because the castle was under construction). Now the castle is finished so idk if they are still doing it now.
To be fair, they stopped doing night parades at Disney world because it was a safety concern with people getting hit by floats if they step into the road and the driver can’t see them

Just watched full videos of both Main Street Electrical Parade and the Spectromagic one and they had in me in tears with nostalgia and happiness. This parade made me laugh and smile but the emotion wasn’t there :( RIP MSEP and even SpectroMagic ♥️

I helped open this parade. It was a pain and had plenty of faults and issues but it's still my favorite parade hands down. The drop of lights at the beginning slaps like no other
Facts: This parade has both Disney and Pixar characters! In part of the song, a reference to “Main Street electrical parade” can be heard in the first part! This is the 2nd time “Real breathing fire” has been featured in a parade, the first being “Festival of fantasy”
I feel like Hong Kong Disneyland needs more recognition, as they also have a paint the night parade which was the **original** and first one to be made, they brung it to Disneyland in Anaheim and HKDL also had the “Happily Ever After” song which you can hear in Magic Kingdom’s Nighttime Spectacular “Happily Ever After” the song was for HKDL’s 10th anniversary and it was also the original, even it’s not completely the same with Magic Kingdom’s, it’s the original, so without HKDL these amazing nighttime shows would’ve never happened.
Wow! That was so awesome. I love that Disney is starting to capture more movies such as finding nemo, cars, and toy story in these parades. Not that Alice and stories like that aren't good to feature, but they have to keep up with the younger generations now. They did amazing and I really loved how they used the old music in some of the boys. Fantastic!

Saw this with my mom in real life and seeing it now made me cry I cant wait to go back in June! Hopefully they debut this again.

I was there, the song, “When Will I See You Again” fit what I was thinking so perfectly that I started crying on the inside, I live in Texas so I can’t go as often as when I lived in California, seven years later, I got to go again for my mom’s birthday.
What kind of heartless person would dislike this?! They just don’t appreciate the time and effort Disney put into this parade. This is amazing. I’m proud of you, Disney. I’m proud 👏
Dang, when Disney does it right... it brings tears to your eyes. Everything about this parade is SO Right! I still get emotional watching it. Love the inclusion of the original sythemagnetic musical sound! LOVE IT!

One of the aspects that I look for in a parade showing that I'm at is the crowd's reaction. I'm not judging a parade on what the crowd is doing, I just enjoy when the crowd is upbeat and cheering like that. It adds to the excitement and grandeur of the parade, and it somehow makes me appreciate the parade and it brings back more nostalgia and adds more emotion for some reason. What are your thoughts?

I remember this parade! I think I went to Disneyland during the Diamond Celebration when I was 6 and saw this parade. I really love and miss this parade! If any Disney imagineer is reading this comment please, please, please, please bring this parade back! And maybe add some new floats like an Encanto, Coco, Frozen II, and Moana float would be cool!💙

@@disneyarchitect4258 it did play for the entire year last year in hk and some of this at least to make up for the canceled fireworks (because the castle was under construction). Now the castle is finished so idk if they are still doing it now.
To be fair, they stopped doing night parades at Disney world because it was a safety concern with people getting hit by floats if they step into the road and the driver can’t see them

Just watched full videos of both Main Street Electrical Parade and the Spectromagic one and they had in me in tears with nostalgia and happiness. This parade made me laugh and smile but the emotion wasn’t there :( RIP MSEP and even SpectroMagic ♥️

I helped open this parade. It was a pain and had plenty of faults and issues but it's still my favorite parade hands down. The drop of lights at the beginning slaps like no other

In part of the song, a reference to “Main Street electrical parade” can be heard in the first part!
This is the 2nd time “Real breathing fire” has been featured in a parade, the first being “Festival of fantasy”

I feel like Hong Kong Disneyland needs more recognition, as they also have a paint the night parade which was the **original** and first one to be made, they brung it to Disneyland in Anaheim and HKDL also had the “Happily Ever After” song which you can hear in Magic Kingdom’s Nighttime Spectacular “Happily Ever After” the song was for HKDL’s 10th anniversary and it was also the original, even it’s not completely the same with Magic Kingdom’s, it’s the original, so without HKDL these amazing nighttime shows would’ve never happened.
When I saw this performance for the very first time. I was blown away. I think Disney should continue this all year around.
Wow! That was so awesome. I love that Disney is starting to capture more movies such as finding nemo, cars, and toy story in these parades. Not that Alice and stories like that aren't good to feature, but they have to keep up with the younger generations now. They did amazing and I really loved how they used the old music in some of the boys. Fantastic!

It's because I think it was only for the celebration (60th anniversary)
Gone to DCA for a year, it was rumored to be the high cost of maintenance of this parade.
