      Cameron Niemela I’ve done it on my 2007 Honda cr250 multiple times. After watching one of your first videos on how to straighten a radiator it’s helped me massive so thank you! Good look with the build looking forward to see if it’s as nice as mine 🧐

    I watched your old video on this topic to straighten one of my radiators out last year. This was good timing - I need to straighten my son's radiators this winter! For anyone in doubt - it works! Plus, what do you have to lose? If it's repair or replace, why not try to straighten them out first? For the guy that said something about not trusting a straightened radiator out on the trail: if you pressure test it afterward (Cameron's hose trick and plugging the other lines is less formal but works), you don't have to worry about it. The pressure only gets so high, then your rad cap releases the pressure, which is when you see the steam from it boiling over. If you're racing BAJA or ISDE, that's another story...

    When translating the rhombus shape to a square, I've found that using a press or just using a drill press as a press works best. You just put the farthest corners at the top and bottom and it will square it up. You can watch the radiator slowly come into shape.

    hey guys (and cameron) i’m doing a top end on my dirtbike tomorrow and do you have any tips on installing those little circlips in the side of the piston. they are so hard for me to do. any help appreciated.

    • @zachrosa5416
      @zachrosa5416 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Josh Mc hey pal , before you put the piston in put one circlip facing down in the piston so when you put the wrist section in on the needle bearing and rod and then use needle nose and a screw driver to gently place the circlip in , good luck and make sure to put them in facing down

    • @harrycole602
      @harrycole602 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      best to have the gudgeon/ piston pins pushed right upto the groove they fit in makes its much easier to fit them and put a rag over the crankshaft area incase u drop one on fitting 😊

  • @N8Doggi

    Do you think it really effects the cooling? Or just looks bad? Honestly! Why would it effect the cooling. I ask this because my bike radiator is bent and it's missing a louver. I oder ordered a new louver and was hoping the radiator is boiling just because it doesn't have a louver to catch the air.
