You were so right. I. Freaking. Love. This. Game. It's exciting, an open world and absolutely hilarious at times. I love how it kept the heart of the original novel and yet also playfully pokes fun at it, eg Fogg's inhuman gentleman's stoicness. When I decided to play the game I was a little nervous of the problematic issues the novel had (eg the portrayal of native americans, casual sexism), but the game has basically put a 21st century spin on every one of those aspect to account for modern sensibilities while also acknowledging every one of those things as problematic issues. Thx for this great review, I know this will be a game I will play over and over. Will check out your other recommendations!
It really is a perfect game BUT for a reason not mentioned... no ads You stay immersed the ENTIRE game. I love that you can play this as casually or objectively as you want. First playthrough was 102 days, 2nd was a 59 day speedrun, after that I stopped caring. It really is about the journey not the destination. About the only improvement I might mention would be narration, a bit of a missed opportunity and would make it even more accessible and engrossing.
I adore this game! 😁 It's so stylish and the story is really interesting. I never read the original story nor watched any adaptation of it so I was blown away by all the destinations and twists you could experience. I was so proud when I ended up finishing the world tour in less than 80 days. I have to replay it now. It's been a while! I'll have to try to visit all the cities.
Replaying the game after many years, I got somewhat perturbed at how slow the text crawl is. Understandable to want to prevent clicking through, but it's not the most speedrun-friendly.
Oh man i am so Flipping Hyped for this game now, Iv'e just come across this little gem on AMAZON, And My first thought was What's this i know it's an adventure game, But the graphics arn't very good then i read the review and then i was like, Hang on this sound's really good, Woman murder's Hubby throws him overboard, Tries to cover it up, Watch what you say cause they can become suspicious of you, WAW iv'e got to get this this looks sick. Than i watch your video my friend, Now i know i made the wright choice to buy it. £20 Quid with delivery KCHING get in. Oh great video mate to, Im'e Hooked and i havn't even played it yet.
sometimes i wish 80 days had a modding scene, afterall modding should be as easy as adding text and if blocks to this games json files or smth but i cant ever think of anything to add the setting has everything.
80 Days is part of my holy trinity of indie games, along with Chroma Squad and another game I have yet to cover. Any guesses as to what that game is?
A short hike
Have you covered it yet?
@@mattyin3229 nope
@@narrow3601 haha well dang. looking forward to it. the videos on both Chroma Squad and 80 days are both great. My guess is undertales though.
gotta be Outer Wilds
The main theme song of this game always inspires me to travel around the world with a high desire for adventure and has stuck with me ever since.

I wish this game was expanded on
More cities, quests, more rp elements, multiplayer
man imagine if this game had steam workshop support, the mods we could make and it would be so easy its only text and a png after all.
@@lachlanmc2335 agree. This game would def transition well into a boardgame

Yeah in new Orleans under moonlight
funny, that's why I gave it a negative review and refunded it on steam.
