This album is like a perfect mix of many of the previous AN records. I can hear many similarities to Hell is Empty, Desideratum, The Whole of the Law. What an apocalyptic masterpiece this one is.
Of horror and the black shawls is my all time favourite song. It s SO therapeutic for me it s unbelievable. And requiem even kind of resembles it in terms of song structure; basically song w/ few lyrical content and then long riff-heavy instrumental. It s even inspired by Mozart as well (horror had lacrimosa in the background) , so bonus points for that too.
I can’t help but hear Soilwork in the chorus of the opening track, and I don’t mean that as either an insult or a compliment. Just something that I noticed. Either way, Anaal Nathrakh is a band that knows how to make tweaks in their overall sound, no matter how small they might be, to make each album have a different tone, despite sounding similar compositionally. I really like that about this band
After months, I still have to come back here to get my dosis of this masterpiece. This band is amazing, and their music is cathartic. Listening them since Vanitas, and I don't think I will ever stop doing it.
Fantastic! I have listened to Anaal Nathrakh since 1999, and they have never, ever made a bad album. All of their albums are brilliant! Best album of 2020. A must buy!
Been listening to anaal since 2013, was like 15 back then, and they're the only band that stuck with me for so long. Excited for every release, it s the one band that n e v e r disappointed with their releases. At least for me, that is
When my Mom ask me which kind of music I enjoy hearing and I awnser: "It's difficult." A pure piece of art. I was in doubt, that there could be a better Album than "New kind of horror" but after Track two I've changed my mind. Thank you a lot.
Nah your mom should know what music you listen to if you were blasting it when you were a teen ahha, the problem starts when you're trying to explain it to a crowd of the average sheltered kind that listen to stuff like Drake, Lil Pipi, Post Malore and Aragna Grande and have no idea that this kind of music even exist🙈
This music is so beautiful and empowering when you have the ability to understand and feel it. The violent lyrics and uncompromising artistic display of disgust towards the aberrations of the Western world help me find peace within and prepare to leave this matrix of ignorance and suffering.
Been listening to this for a while now, and, damn, this is up there with Whole of the Law. They really do get better, both in terms of music, and in terms of ever-relevant messagery. Keep it up, holy shit.
Dominus non es dignus, Eschaton, Whole of the Law, Hell is empty... ... those albums were the best IMHO, but Endarkement kicked my balls into ears. Perfect.
I feel like older Annal was more fast and extreme....but that ist just an observation because they still are creative and, I think more artistic than ever.
The Whole of the Law and Hell is Empty are just there, but this might be THE ONE. Especially for all that it means, the message it conveys so accurate and "in point" with the times we are living and how it approaches to it with so many also accurate and creative references and even recent anecdotes that clearly portray the status quo of humanity. And it combines so many elements of so many styles and from their prior albums, taking all of them to rare levels of brutality, touch, taste and sensitivity. It's obscure but "coruscating", as Mick himself said. This is really a work of art. "Fiat ars, pereat mundus."
"Anaal Nathrakh" roughly translates to "Serpent's Breath." The phrase is used in the film as a powerful and mystical chant, adding to the enigmatic and dark themes often associated with it. ...Just for the nerds who might not know
I love Create Art, Though the World May Perish. The chorus is so different to most music AN have put out, it's almost....catchy? Didn't think that term could be used describing this band.
06. Feeding the Death Machine Isn't it the first time for ANAAL to have a major chord? This is the monochrome world at all, and there is vividness as if only the sky was dyed deep blue. I'm moved.
Comment 469 😁... I really hope this isn't the 'end', chaps of AnNa. I really enjoy Mick's work as Kordhell, but I don't want it to be at the expense of this. If not, this album is a helluva way to go out. ✊🏻
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, HELLO FROM BRAZIL, CONGRATULATIONS FOR ANOTHER WONDERFUL ALBUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To me, their most accessible album. It has especially more structure, with each song following more of a straight, direct line rather than been all over the place and chaotic. It won't be for everyone still, but it could easily bring them new fans for whom the past albums were too much. On the other hand I wonder though if it will displease some of their die hard fans. Anyway, I'll wait to fully judge, but thus far I enjoy it and it could end up as one of my 3 favorite from the band with "Hell is empty..." and "Vanitas".
I listened to nearly 100 albums this year, I'm not even kidding, but this one is definitely on my top 5! INCREDIBLE ALBUM from beginning to end!! We'll have another release from Make Them Die Slowly later this month as well!! In case you don't know an Anaal Nathrakh side project. you should check it out if you love AN. They released their album Ferox in May, it's amazing This year breathes apocalyptic metal!
I’ve had this for a solid week and I’m still taking it all in. Absolutely amazing album. This, ....And Oceans, and another band I follow all get AOTY for the first time in the years I’ve been listening to music.
Pure insanity, nihility, and Aural hate and dissonance. This band rapes minds and burns souls without regrets and compromise. Great album and soundtrack to the apocalypse. This and the Codex Necro are pure unadulterated violence.
Did you miss The Whole of The Law? But yeah, the album is great, less industrial than couple last albums therefore a bit reminiscent of some older ones.
Definitely, the most melodic of their albums. I could never get into their music completely, only enjoying several of their songs. That's really a transition point for me, enjoying the whole album so much.
Ok, so I know Anaal Nathrakh means "Serpent's Breath", but I can't help to think it has unfortunate homonymical connotations. I laugh every time i see it, but my laughter chokes, when I hear the music.
Ordered the album and the (unwearable due to obscenity) t-shirt a couple weeks before release. Did not disappoint. The last part of Requiem gives me fucking chills.
Album of the year for me, and I think the best of Anaal Nathrakh's releases since In the Constellation... Easily their catchiest album too, which is not a bad thing at all. I dare say there will be some folks complaining that it’s not the Codex Necro. but they need to just fucking get over it. As much The Codex Necro was a more “pure” industrial black metal album, I much prefer the blackened-death-grind-industrial-power metal they’ve been increasingly leaning into ever since Eschaton.
the softest AN Album imho but one of the best! They do exactly what they can do best: Blending extreme metal with almost cheesy melodic death metal parts. I don´t miss all the fucked up parts with crazy uncomfortable sounds which bleeds your ears from the last few albums. Just in the top three with Hell is empty and Eschaton

@@apwciie6440 At the moment Metal Blade does at indiemerch dot com. 2x and 3x are sold out however.
Where's the shirt where the two guys are buggering each other? Would go greatly in my christian christian convert.
Found it. No worries.
A criminally overlooked band. The whole album is gold. All killer, no filler!
Ok I'll remain here for 15 days.
I think you have……if you have may the gods of metal bless you 🤘
only 15?
Still here one month after ^^
Still seeing you three years later.
🤘🏻
Good work, triumphant, once again Mick!!
MAASTERPIECE.
great work dude, congrats!
Thank you for making this masterpiece. Your discography is already stellar and this is the magnum opus!
I have no idea how many fuckin times I've listened to it today! On repeat! 🖤🤘🏻😈
Fecking awesome album!!! My 53 years old neck almost broke. Headbanging music!!!! Congrats from Brazil!
This album is like a perfect mix of many of the previous AN records.
I can hear many similarities to Hell is Empty, Desideratum, The Whole of the Law.
What an apocalyptic masterpiece this one is.
I’ve been a metalhead for 38 years and I have never heard anything like this. I am impressed. I think I am a fan now.
This is the heaviest band in the world and probably of all time. And yet they are able to introduce such melodies in their frenzied tracks.
I´m 46 and AN fan since In The Constellation of the Black Widow. They never disappoint!! Their entire catalog is amazing lml lml

Yet another sick album by Anaal Nathrakh. I love hearing the incredibly diverse styles being mixed so tastefully.
The newest addition of which is a fucking violin in track 4
I really like the grind influences and unpredictability that comes with it
Requiem - oh man- what a song - AN always makes their final tracks on albums so incredibly memorable - just incredible
The closer are always amazing. Best ones are A Metaphor for the Dead, and especially Of Horror and the Black Shawls ...
Of horror and the black shawls is my all time favourite song. It s SO therapeutic for me it s unbelievable. @@piZZa4everRulz I'm pretty sure its in the same key too and the melodies are very similar.
Heavily inspired by the Verdi track, I've noticed. th-cam.com/video/_jBLyIQvNf0/w-d-xo.html
The final guitar solo was fucking incredible, I loved it
Singularity is out of this world, that melodic riff when the chorus comes in, is freaking awesome.
Definitely Singularity is one of the best from the album
Feeding the Death Machine fuckin slays, pure apocalyptic old-school melodeath. Best track for sure
I can’t help but hear Soilwork in the chorus of the opening track, and I don’t mean that as either an insult or a compliment. Just something that I noticed. Noticed that in Feeding the Death Machine as well.
Old In Flames came to mind as well

I love this band, it´s true
The two first songs from Eschaton are still my favourite. I wish Dave did more clean singing.
@@iamthebeelzebub Eschaton is a fantastic album. My favourite album of theirs of all time, is Domine Non Es Dignus.

Super cool to hear the Giuseppe Verdi's Dies Irae in the final track, I always loved that composition

"Beyond Words" kick ass song, one of my favourites on the new record 🤘🤘🤘🤘
15:47 sounds like an extreme metal version of a Banjo-Kazooie boss battle. And I mean that in the best way possible.
