- This is part two of a two part kayaking trip to the Okefenokee Swamp.
If gators are your thing than you need to make a trip to the Okefenokee Swamp! Even if you don't like gators this place has something for you. With all the research I did before going to the swamp I was still kinda taken back just how massive it is and the amount of wildlife that I seen here even for January.
The Okefenokee Swamp is a very unique place unlike anything I've ever experienced! There is a ton of gators here but there's no need to really be scared of them as long as you give them there space. The last thing they are wanting is to mess with you and all they're trying to do is get away from you. Even though it may seem like they are coming after you LOL.
I put in at Stephen Foster State Park just outside of Fargo Georgia. I spent the first night at Canal run shelter which was around a 7 Mile paddle into the current. Canal run was a very tight and narrow paddle most of the way.
The second day was around a 5 mile paddle to Floyd's Island through mostly open canals and open prairies.
The third day was a 9 Mile paddle back to Stephen Foster State Park and that was going with the current lol. This stretch was one of the most prettiest sections of the whole trip.
Great little place to stay in Fargo Ga. before you hit the water.

Those growls and gator bellows gave me chills!
Yes it will definitely raise the haur up on neck lol
Part 2 was great! I finally got to sit down and watch it last night. I loved the food prep video, too! It’s good to get ideas. I’ve been collecting gear for a year, leading up to an overnight trip. I’ve only done day trips up to this point. My wife and I got pretty close (not intentionally) to a big gator bellowing and going after something on the Rainbow River last year. That’s a sound you don’t ever forget! We sure appreciate all your great content. Hope you keep it coming!
Thank you for the kind words! A gator bellowing is a sound you don't soon forget lol. I have quite a bit of camping stuff I've collected over the years but I don't even use half of it now. Overnight kayak camping is a little work but it can be very relaxing too at the same time.
Enjoyed!
Good one Bama! That orange trail narrow section before you get to canal run is tough. We had a big tree down across the trail that forced us to pull our canoes over it.
Yeah it was a long narrow trail! I was glad to see that Canal run shelter lol
Part 2 was Awesome! Love the old cabin! When we going back😂✌️
I would love to make another trip over there one day!
Enjoyed the show...!!!
I appreciate that thanks for watching!
Enjoyed the video. Both parts. Made me realize I'll stick with the river floating. Leave the swamp to the swamp people. Lol
It was fun but I am still partial to my beloved River!!
Enjoyed both parts...looked like a great trip! There is a species of pitcher plant that grows here, in the Conecuh National Forest, that's not found anywhere else. Pretty to look at, but God help you if they catch you messing with them! Stay Safe!
Think you sir! I don't know that there was plants like that around here I'll have to look it up.
You were basically pulling yourself through at one point. Lol looked tough!
It was just a short distance not to bad. Don't know why but I don't get notified of you comment. 🤷
Been there!! Great place
Yes Sir it's a really neat place!
I'm going to get some of those picture plants to eat some bugs for my backyard. 🤣
Lol yes I need a ton of those in my yard too!
Sooo many bugs when you water pulling your kayake through the mud!
Yes there was a lot of bugs on the island but they weren't the biting kind lol
Did you see a lot of snakes?
No snakes but I'm not complaining it all about that 😉
