  • The best way I've found to pack all this in a kayak! It's the best way for me to get everything inside the hatch of my Feelfree Lure kayak. Even if it's not a Feelfree as long as you have internal storage you can use this method with a rope to hook everything too for easy retrieving.

I didn't realize you packed all that in there like that! Pretty cool with the rope and Caribbean

Thanks Travis, always good to know how others pack. Looks like a good system with a low center of gravity. Very informative!

I pack my kayak almost exactly the same. Only notable difference is that my hammock, top quilt, bottom quilt, and tarp are all in one bag. Everything else is pretty much the same. Well, on my Pelican Catch 120, anyway…forward hatch on it opens into the hull, same as your FeelFree does. Like you said, tons of space in there, and tethering everything keeps it all from getting lost out of reach. Stay Safe!

I was looking at the catch 120 really hard, but I ran across the Feelfree and went with it. I have my old Ascend FS12T kayak and it only has a small hatch right in front of the seat. I always wanted something with interior storage just in case something happened and I flipped that sucker over everything would still be inside the kayak lol.

What do you tie your rope off to inside to keep the rope up front?

The Feelfree Kayaks have support post just inside and that's what it's tied to! I didn't realize I didn't say that 🤦Thanks for asking!

When will some river Longtail videos be? I have one but like watching others do it as well! Also I have a 14-36 heavy duty transom. You think it’s okay to leave my 670 large swamp runner on it when not using it ? Didn’t know if it would like flex floor over time or dent it or bow the bottom have you ran into that ? Yours is lighter but either way just asking an opinion !

I've got a short how to on my 420 coming up Sunday and some more stuff lined up! I think it would hold up fine especially if it's a heavy duty transom. My boat don't have the supports that run up the sides so it has a little more flex to it. I've seen someone with a 670 on a boat that size one time can't remember who it was.

@@Bamaoutdoors okay so my Transom has to floor to Transom braces. It’s 1.5 thick aluminum Transom kit and 1/4 plate on back side covering most of the back like 32 by 14 and then a top channel across Transom made of iron and up the sides bolted and riveted down. I just worry about the weight on the bunks pushing on the floor and making a big bow or dent. Did you run into that ?

No I hadn't ran into that on mine. Just try it out and keep an eye on it. I run in mostly Sandy bottom stuff with logs and stumps but I'm kinda rough on my boat lol.

@@Bamaoutdoors okay thanks for advise ! And I run a sandy rocky river as well I’ve used it some I can’t see any floor flex from using or hauling it ! I just don’t leave it on when I’m not using it so the weight over time doesn’t push the floor up or bow or dent it from the stress of motor weight! You leave your motor on when not using ??

@@coltensawyer6761 yeah it stays on my boat. I think as long as you have a good flat surface for your boat sits on your trailer it should be fine.
