Dr Carhart Harris, and team, thank you for your consistent arduous work and articulating this consistently for everybody in the health and healing professions to affect patients and sufferers worldwide. You are heralded for you inspiring work in the field and gratitude is plentiful (from Ridgewood, Queens, NYC)

I think this is my favourite interview/discussion/presentation with Robin so far - great job, everyone! This is probably the most approachable delivery of his work that I've seen - very shareable with people that might be doubtful or concerned about such compounds.

I've been diagnosed with major depressive disorder, eating disorder and anxiety. I've dosed on psilocybin mushrooms and they helped my depression 3 months the first time, 4 months the second time and it was NOWHERE near a "heroic dose".
I self dosed on LSD (unknown dose because the legal route isn't available) for my binge eating and lost 65 pounds in 8 months, healthy. Yes, I've gained 20 back but it hasn't been my usual gaining it ALL back! Professor Carhart-Harris, if you ever want to test on binge eating on a morbidly obese person, "I volunteer as tribute!" 🤚 I would LOVE to have a therapist on stand-by as I am on a psychedelic journey to help my issues. I LOVE my therapist and wish he could legally walk me through a journey.
I believe in the healing of psychedelics so much that at the age 55, I've started the process of going back to college and earning my degree in Psychology so I can hopefully start my path of becoming a Psychedelic Assisted Therapist.
33:19 LOVE Gabor Maté and his Hungry Ghosts book as well as The Myth of Normal.

Well done. I'm 37 and gave up a career as a Network Engineer (IT) - doing my first year of university - attempting to complete a degree in medical science so I can become an "authority" and influence the world... hoping to heal humanity's consciousness and save the planet from humanity's self destruction.

Same here, almost 50. Had treatment resistant depression, started microdosing, feeling better already. Sent off for spawn bag and spore syringes, to grow my own functional and medicinal. Excited to start the journey albeit relatively late to the party.

of course if a group of therapists do the research, then they naturally would think that they need to be part of the therapy. But there's another approach: and that is that the medicine or psychedelic itself IS the teacher. My therapist guided trips were nothing but my therapist knitting something beside me, and there only to remind me to breath, so that I would stay out of my head,, to fully allow the medicine to reveal what was needed. The real change comes with when what is revealed in the trip, when you choose to integrate it days and weeks after. All this can be done with on line courses and as I had eventually done, made my own recorded breathing tape loops to play while I laid comfortably on my back with shades over my eyes in the security of my own home with phone unplugged etc.
Kind of like going to yoga classes for the rest of your life to actually creating your own practice as you discover more and more about your body. Nothing against classes though.
And, or, what is revealed in a four to six hour trip could be discussed later with a therapist, or in groups, or online. I write this as the detail of costs came up. The cost of mushrooms really is less than the cost of dinner out.

Great to know this is being realised.
Shame that at the same time modern food sources and processed foods have been called out as brain and health destroyers…and being pushed/marketed it respectively.

It's nice seeing the scientists finally coming around to what shamans have known for thousands of years -- and of course the scientists will now take credit for "discovering" it because they assigned to it their technical jargon. 😆

What Gabor Mate book did Dr. Carhart-Harris reference?

The realms of hungry ghosts perhaps (related to drug addictions). There is also his latest book, “the myth of normal” and “the body says no”…. Connection between stress and disease.
Dr. Gabor Mate also has an online self study/ long 1 year programme called “compassionate inquiry”. Recommend to all without hesitation 🙏🏻🙏🏻

The only thing that matters is how we FEEL
The sound language and thinking reality is utterly meaningless and nothing lasts
the only thing that lasts is FEELINGS
And AI cant FEEL anything at all so its worthless totally
By your words I can tell you imagine in your imagianry imagination otherwise known as the left PFC
That you imagine that FEELINGS exist in the cortices
      You couldn't be more wrong
only imaginary feelings exist in the cortices and they are not real at all , you know the feelings based around concepts and construction and delusions
Now how scared the bubble you imagine in and how that affects the things you imagine that's a whole other story
One that the Abrahamics deliberately did not want you to ever get taught
So they called the part of the brain that controls how you FEEL the devil and anyone who knows anything about the lower brain and the horns of the beast as a devil worshipper
I mean come on, breeding humans that know nothing about their lower brain and pretending it does not exist, WOW !!! !
So the truth is Cain (cortex) never killed Able (Amygdala)
this means Able is in really bad way , as our society proves
