Here I am in the U.S. trying to make WWII German military items look authentic and vintage and in Germany you are doing the same only with U.S. military items. I love this world of collectors and reenactment groups. We are all trying to preserve history in the most meaningful way. Thanks bro.

It was in decent condition with minor rust but lots of pitting and I got it for $25. I am trying to make it an m1c ww2 paratrooper helmet with 502nd markings. I only just painted primer on it as I am waiting for my paint to arrive to finish it. Anyway, thanks for all the help History Secrets!

If it has a front seam/slit in the front it’s definitely ww2 produced.
Rear seam can be ww2 but it’s more rare but not hard to find.
      Swivel bail came in 1943
      Front seam 1940/41 - late 1944
      Rear seam late 1944 - 1968/69.
      American production stopped in 1969.
While other countries still made them into the 1980s
The U.S. stopped using the m1 in the mid 80s.
Maybe later since it takes time to replace gear or equipment.

Aha! A great way to fool a newbie! ;-) Just kidding! Seriously, that's an awesome idea, and perfect for re-enactments! Where do you get these great ideas, Nick? By the way, that's a beautiful snake you showed. I'm not a "snake person," but I can recognize beauty where I see it! Thanks for another great video!
