They seem to feel superior. I have to be silent and humble around them. They are religious but they say I am judgmental for sharing the experiences I face. I hear about all their parties and am not invited as because I have a low income right now I'm an embarrassment to them. They are unavailable to me and I have supported their causes and work. They are reluctant to support my causes. I'm not asking for anything personal.

fr. i had an argument with my friend because i’m “too aggressive” and i have to step on eggshells now whenever i talk to her because of that. i try and not act aggressive, but i just get like that when i’m excited or happy. i don’t feel myself and i don’t feel
happy anymore whenever i talk to her

@@nelloed Sounds like a terrible relationship. I had to let a lot of toxic girlfriends go. I couldn't do anything right or be myself. I'm too aggressive and blunt and it hurts their feelings. Anything I say is like Russian Roulette - can't talk about science, the weather, even how their family may be offensive. SMH I pray they can have peace and heal their inner wounds as the world is a rough place with different opinions they will have to learn to handle.

Had a friend like that, use to be a good friend until he changed. Felt stressed out when hanging out, decided that enough is enough, the last day I said bye to him, he looked at me strangely because my farewell was different from my normal farewell. Next day he texted me, I didn't reply, I totally cut off from him. He kept trying to contact me but I was firm in my decision. I felt happier and more confident in myself immediately after, I think it was the right decision. We were friend for 10 yrs.

And that friend is in his 60s . I didn't know he was doing that behind my back. He's the one who started it not me. I met him in the mall few years ago. I still feel he's going around spreading rumors about me that are not true. I confronted him blocked him off my Facebook. Also a few times last year he wasn't that nice to me either he was swearing at me in the mall calling me on my phone calling me a 3 year old for hiding from him. 😢 Yeah a couple times he's hurt my feelings and made me cry a guy in his 60s and I'm only 27 year old.

Being in a “toxic friendship” is so hard especially if it changes from healthy to toxic but you need to take care of yourself and stop the friendship and contact as hard as it may be it will be worth it in the end. There are so many genuine people out there in the world so don’t give up hope you will have your own group of friends one day who are happy for your successes and are supportive and healthy in general. Don’t label everyone the same just because you experienced on toxic friendship for the good is yet to come ✨💛

I really hope my friend group doesn’t see this:
Recently I haven’t been feeling uncomfortable in my own friend group. They’ve been getting into arguments with others and pulling mean pranks on others. They drag me into it, and I feel pressured to be a part of it. I know they aren’t, but I feel like they are trying to make me feel trapped. If they are, it’s certainly working. I’m don’t want to hang out with them. They sometimes laugh at me when I draw something bad or miss a note when I’m singing. They push and pull me around to suite their needs. I sometimes feel like I can’t be me when I’m around them. One day I’ll end it. One day I will say to them that I don’t wanna be under their control anymore.

Hi there! I've been through the same recently. Long story... But I can tell you that you should listen to your gut feeling and head out of the situation elegantly.
I had this feeling too about a friend and thought that I was exaggerating but I paid for it leaving him in my life.
He was having an affair with my crush for weeks or months and kept it secret while having a good time with me, knowing that I liked her very much.
Now I asked myself why I didn't cut him out of my life earlier and feel very hurt and disgusted about him. Also there are much more toxic things about him, it's a long and complicated story...
I hope I helped you with this one a little bit.

      @sprechendemulltonne5051 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

@@vernontaningco6252 you're welcome! Always interesting hearing other people's stories about this topic.
I actually had a talk with him after a friend of mine pushed me to talk to him to resolve the problematic situation (I told him to leave me alone for now on, after I found out about him and my crush).
Yeah... That was indeed a hell of a talk. We took a long walk together and I told him everything I thought about him honestly without holding back. I think both sides were holding back tears (we are both heading towards 30 years of age) and shaking hands after the talk.
Now long story short: Month after that and previous similar situations with other people I can tell you, when there has been a crack in the friendship, it might never turn back to the old situation. Both sides are more reserved talking to each other now and cautious to not trigger the other one. It's practically all an act and both sides know it deep down. So after trying to spend time together again and heal the friendship, we don't contact each other anymore, because we are not feeling good together. So basically after trying, we have distanced each other silently now.
But each situation is different. Let it come to you, the situation will solve itself naturally, just don't force anything that isn't meant to be.
I thought knowing each other for 23 years must be worth something, it is somehow... But there a coming new people into your life caring for you better when you close an old door and open a new one. Just don't punch each other in the face or insulting each other.

Two hits too hard. I was in a group of friends and felt that way around them all the time. It was awful and the worst part is my family is like that too. I made a real best friend and we can talk about anything without any drama popping up. I look at the friendship I have with her and after watching these videos, I value her even more. I'm so happy she's my friend.

That last one, especially with the therapist role...I feel all of these either to a degree or completely. I don't want to leave them though because of their depression and insecurities. But I am feeling so drained and it is harder to do things some days. I've had to take breaks from social media but leaving outright no longer feels like an option. I need a vreak but leaving them just doesn't seem like something I should do. :(

I feel you. I’m at a point where I‘m just done with her, feeling like she just used me to let her pain out and that’s it. But there’s still that part of me asking „what if she actually still cares about you and by leaving her you’re making her situation much worse? You don’t want to be the reason she kills herself“
The thing is, she’s driving me insane. To a point where I’m thinking about cutting myself again, destroying things and physically hurt others. So this time, I‘m putting myself first before I give in to the demons inside my frozen heart and end up in the psych ward (and I mean the one that’s for the really damaged ones)

I have a toxic friend that I need to remove from my life. Long story short, we were friends that started dating. He started to become very possessive and controlling and I told him we are better off as friends. Nearly 10 years later, he’s still constantly asking me about what went wrong when we were dating. My patience ran out. If he doesn’t understand the first 1000 times I’ve explained it to him, he’s not going to understand time number 1,001.
Just to be clear he is not a horrible person. He’s just someone who can’t handle a friendship with me.

everything that was mentioned on this video describes me and my “friends” relationship, i constantly want to get away from this relationship, but my mom doesn’t support me in doing that, only because we have known eachother for so long, i am constantly listening to her problems and acting almost as her therapist! i am a person with anxiety, i always have had anxiety, ever since ive been more open about that with her, magically she has it too, like this one time we went to a park, and she saw a dying mouse and turned to look at me and said, “omg i think im having an anxiety attack!” with a huge smile on her face, i have anxiety attacks sort of often and just because your heart is racing does NOT mean you have anxiety, i understand its diffrent for everyone but its quite clear that thats not anxiety. i am so sick and tired of mental health getting watered down and being considered “quirky”, it makes me sick! she complains about having, multiple personalities, depression, an eating desorder, anxiety, adhd, and when i tell her if you are really conserned, see a doctor! and she just brushes it off! its so draining to be around her and i genuinely dont enjoy being around someone that constantly complains about their problems. its just so annoying how she thinks she’s superior to everyone else, we were walking down a street and she said “ew look how fat and ugly that girl is!” and i said how horrible that is to say that to someone and she just laughed, ps im very sure that girl heard her, and then complains about her being so fat! the amount of times shes commented on MY weight saying im “pudgy” makes me angry, then makes me conform shes not fat. i could go on for hours naming more things, but i probably shouldnt.
so sorry to anyone who read this, i just needed to vent.

It took me a long time to realize my relationship with my best friend was toxic. I always felt belittled and less than.
It wasn't until I was getting married that I realized how bad it was. I'm a lesbian and my "friend" is a very anti-gay Christian. I didn't want that anywhere near my wedding.
I also got told by my sister and my wife for years how much they didn't like the way my friend was treating me. My advice is if people around you are telling you something's wrong, take a good hard look at the situation. No matter how hard it is, let them GO! You are much better off!

I have been trying to end a friendship that has turned very toxic, my friend had become very manipulative and for a Long time I didn't even realise it. I thought this is fine. Whilst being gaslighted. Only when she tried to turn me against my partner, claiming made up things I finally saw the huge Red flags in our "friendship". I still tried to work Out a compromise being the people pleaser, and being very naive. I know she is struggling with her own mental health as she never forgets an opportunity to tell me how depressed she is, and I tried. I really tried to Help her and to be a good friend but I can't Take it anymore! 😢 I am so drained from this conflict and sought to reconsile her but the only Option she agrees on is for me to Go against the person I love most for a Claim of her that is Not true.
I don't know If anyone reads this but If you do: thank you for taking your time to Listen to my crying. I feel very lost but maybe this is a learning experience?

Thanks for making this video, My best friend recently hasn't been really a friend to me latley, He only comes round to my house to go on my computer then leaves. The moment i Tell him he hogs the computer and that's all he does, He just whines when i tell him to do something that isn't just downloading FNF Mods on my computer.. And He always talks about himself and whenever we're in a conversation and/or argument, he always Inturrupts me mid-sentence. It just feels like he comes round to my house to take something from me like a candy bar, or use my computer, or some other thing. He only ever just goes on his phone and whenever he doesn't get what he wants he acts all whiny and starts to even cry sometimes. And whenever there's a party going around he only ever comes out of his room to just hog snacks all day, and the moment he doesn't get what he wants, He starts So much Unnecessary Drama For no reason. Thanks for making this video so i could learn.

Thank you so much for this video, because of this I realized that one of my really long friendships has been really toxic. We almost never talk anymore, and she always talks about her looks and all that, I’m totally fine with people talking about how they look, but not when they begin to bring me into it. She’s almost never around me and mostly ignores me and she has said a lot of mean things to me. One time I told her about a boy that made me really uncomfortable bc he said that he wanted a threesome with me and she said “you would probably do it if he was taller and hotter” and laughed at it, I also once told her about a (pretty traumatic) thing that happened where I got lost in the rain with no battery in a place I didn’t knew and when I told her I began to cry she called me a crybaby and that I was embarrassing and sounded like a 6 year old boy, ever since I was little I have always been very sensitive and gets sad abt almost everything and she know that so that really hurts my feelings. I just don’t know how I can get out of the toxic relationship because I have nobody else at school that I can be with so I always come back to her.

Two toxic signs, that I think should have been listed, for me was the guilt trip and gaslighting.
They would always have a list of favors they did for me and highlighted how much they would do in the friendship. I didn't make a list of the favors I did because I didn't expect anything in return. Later down the road I found out they would throw it back in my face. According to them, since a lot of the favors were shared with my other friends, then it wasn't really directed towards them...that should've been enough for me to walk away but I didn't...
They also lied and made me feel uncomfortable for feeling cautious and on guard with them. They never thought the impact their actions had on me and made me feel crazy for being emotional...
8 years down the road I finally had enough after a super toxic conversation where they gaslighted me after 3 hours of arguing...Their final words after a 3 hour argument was, "What's wrong with you? What's really going on?"
I almost burst into tears because I knew I was being gaslighted. They knew what was upsetting me. They were just trying to convince me it was someone or something else in my life.
I'm so much happier now. Still healing, it was almost ten years of my life after all. But I know I'll get there.

By saying that you don't need any is just bad, If you were my friend and heard you saying this, I would be so broken. Please don't depend everything on kpop, they can be our idols and motivation, but they can't pick our choices in life, and how we handle it. I'm a kpop fan myself (I stan IU, bts and txt) so I'm not just typing random words to you.

Bro, get some friends, they can really help you out when you are in a really bad situation mentally, and physically.

I have a toxic friend who just recently unfriended me in Facebook. And I have never been the most confortable and happier in my life, since I never felt that first-hand guilt of letting go of our friendship. If you are reading this, thank you for letting me realize a lot of things.

Ive been in this friendship for more than 7 yrs and what im now getting out of it is being drained, low self esteem, and when ever i make one dumb mistake all I get from the two is "Dumbass" or "Your stupid"
my reaction is i disagree and then turn away and focus on smth else
And another thing that makes it harder is having your only TRUE friend go to another SCHOOL
