You should be able to play with whatever size shinguards you want to. I have not seen them give or take advantage to players and if you get hit and you end up injured for lack of protection, you have only youserlf to blame.

I am in shock that the referee continued play after his foot was stomped on. I would have ended the game, grabbed my bag, and left the facility. That player should be disqualified from the league, and a bond should be placed on the team. The unprofessionalism overall and assaulting a referee is uncalled for in any sport, no ifs ands or buts.

Wata Weep forreal, I would punish the team and the referee, overall the way this referee handled the game was terrible, he let the game get to a point where he couldn’t handle it so he was throwing cards left and right, I can with certainty say 95% of referees make terrible mistakes and will not live up to their mistakes because their word is law and even after they are shown what their mistake was they will always say “I already made the call and it stands” this referee and the blue team displayed some of the worst behavior I’ve seen in a long time
@@cesarrios6822 even if a ref calls a foul and then right away realizes it was not the right call, he must be confident with the call whether it is right or wrong, thats how we are taught to handle the situations. you are spewing bullshit out of your mouth with those statistics
@@cesarrios6822 Yeah that was bad. He was trying to take control but just ended up being an authoritarian asshole. Thats not how you handle a game. Demanding players walk back to you after they got their booking, telling players to get away when they are standing silent, making up rules about what kind of socks you can wear, and then stepping on the players foot in some kind of power move. You can't bend to the players influence but you can also find ways to keep control without causing a problem yourself. He was egging the guy on, and then gave him the second card while he was walking away. Refs are taught how to frame those conversations to elicit a positive response.
Evan Anderson the guy kept going and kept going, he wouldn’t shut up back chatting and fully deserved the second yellow so don’t really get what your on about, because the ref would basically be allowing himself to get back chatted by some little brat who can’t just do what he’s meant to do and that’s play football and actually in my training I was told your meant to isolate the player your carding away from his team mates as they could actually escalate the situation, so telling players to “step back” or “move away” is actually the right thing to do, guess you don’t know much about football after all 😂

I went through worse than this in a men’s O-40 league. These amateur adult leagues are riddled with players that have never read the rules and because they consider themselves to be playing in a recreational league, that the referees are just some random guy in a yellow shirt. This, of course, makes the environment difficult and hard to manage for the referee. You don’t want to start throwing around cards, but these teams continually beg for that action to happen. It turns grown men into six year olds.

The ref did an excellent job of maintaining order, calling over players to tell them to calm down. He didn't get emotional and did the right thing. You don't see that very often.
He also did a great job standing on a blue player's foot and not calling certain flagrant fouls against blue team. I've never seen a ref bait a person into giving themselves a red card before

Referee lost control and respect really early on in this game, you should never ever point with one finger into player faces while talking to them, needs to learn better player management, and take control of player tensions early in the game, and he only has one whistle tone, and it’s very aggressive, therefore players will react accordingly. The game is never about the referee, but unfortunately on this occurrence it was.
