The yellow for the free-kick on the keeper, which led to a red, was not correct. The player has every right to go for that ball and he reaches it. Wrong call, but tough crowd.

@@11fleek , under which rule? The keeper is to be considered as any other player. You wouldn't expect the striker to pull out of that challenge if it is a defender trying to get to the ball! Yes, he hits the keeper, but he gets the ball first and the keeper hits him. There is no excessive force, so the only thing you can argue is that he stamps on the keeper as he gets up, but for me it seems like a completely natural movement. So, no, I am not joking.

Actually, the rate that they were falling over for "injuries" (everything after the broken leg) was embarrassing. They were better early on and then started dropping all over the place when the other team started matching their play.

14:33 I love how they're complaining yelling cause of the kid waisting time as if both teams haven't been going hard the whole game. Like, it's overtime--you run and sprint enough during a game before getting shoved to the ground you're going to need a minute. Literally a few seconds afterwards and players from both teams are on the ground. Ease up a little

Nr 7 got a battering, especially his knees several times, I was surprised he even continued playing after all that.
All times the spectators were idiot:
4:04 - GK is totally allowed to put a leg up to defend himself, trust me. I’m a GK.
5:10 - Great call by the ref. 6 clearly tries to trip the player illegally and in doing so disrupts the flow of play. Good call by the ref on pulling it up.
5:23 - Clear offside.
5:33 - Another clear illegal trip.
6:50 - Doesn’t look to be any contact there, and even if there was it wouldn’t be enough to elicit that much of a dive. Looked like he knew he wasn’t going to get the shot off and dived for a pen.
8:57 - Looks deceiving because the attacker is bigger than the defender here, but the defender disrupted the attacker by charging him without going for the ball. Good advantage and pulling up.
10:29 - Is it really that bad?
10:35 - Got the ball, stop bitching.
11:02 - It’s obscured by the player in front of cam, but you can see the knee-kick after the tackle.
12:34 - This is petty af. Absolutely NO respect for the poor keeper who’s clearly been injured.
13:39 - Clear foul.
14:11 - He’s wasting time? In a golden goal? The parent telling him to get up is an absolute asshole - he’s just played 90 minutes of football plus some and they’re berating him?
14:57 - I’m really pissed at this point. These players have just played almost 100 minutes and they’re getting mad at them when they inevitably get cramps.

Always this. When I began trying out for GK the first thing my dad taught me was that if I was going to contest a ball by jumping up and grab it, you stick your leg/knee out.
People seem to forget that players will be barreling at you full speed sometimes and expect GK's to just get steamrolled and injured

This referee called a great game. He has great game management. What I mean is he only showed cards when he needed to. Even though it’s a hard foul, doesn’t mean it’s reckless. I am a referee and I don’t tend to show many YC or RC. I am a very mild manner referee and I talk to the players and let them know what they did wrong.
6:51 is a good no call. Both players are trying to play the ball and the run into each other. As a referee, I am never awarding a team a Penalty kick for a 50/50 challenge

i agree with everyone saying the spectators are insufferable. the center ref is doing his job and people spectating are like "come on ref" when it is a reasonable yellow card. honestly, he could have given them more yellow cards in necessity. please be mindful that the ref isnt stupid and they know how to ref.
edit: i just thoroughly watched the video through and the players are getting in his face. kudos to the ref, had to deal with these nut jobs.
I liked the ref, but if I were him, I would’ve stopped the game to give a talk to the captains about the outrageous amount of fouls in the game and that it isn’t why it’s called the beautiful game. Sure, a couple fouls doesn’t hurt because it happens, but giving every player on the field a yellow and handing out two reds is not right.
This match is strange, you can really catch if the teams playing are Americans or European/South Americans. The game seems way more strict and bold here, no outrageous counter attack and not many good shots, seems like they believe they need to run into the goal with the ball 😂

@@MeridithQueenOfSpades look at the video again when the other player goes for the ball, the kid with the studs up is now bringing his leg down studs towards the foot of the player who is kicking the ball up meeting the studs of the player…. Never the less, it’s a dangerous play Law 12 in the rule book therefore caution-able offense.

I'll be frank. The more footage I see of Crawford HS, the more apparent it is. San Diego has a issue when it comes to different styles of play and players that don't necessarily play or look like European futbol. When you assign an official they should be able to handle this diversity. This crew was not at the level/standard for this match. Several critical match incidents in the match is evidence of these claims. This is two years in a row where the key players from Crawford have to be carted off due to players not being protected by the officials. I hope this gets cleaned up before the MLS team comes to town...

That has to be some of the worst football i’ve ever seen. Do they not teach players how to be smooth with the ball in the feet? Everyone seems so flat footed and sloppy, no control whatsoever, everything seems so forced.
It’s Americans, no soul, no passion, no pride for the badge, I wasn’t even sure whether this is college or hs or division fotball because where I’m from in Europe this is not senior level at all, must be high school. They play like kids without any idea what they are doing. Man I’m far beyond they level and I ain’t even playing fotball since 3 yrs back, I think the sport is way more cultural here and it’s a lifestyle.
Maybe if the parents weren’t so loud the red would’ve been more lenient to a foul at 13:20

These parents were so annoying lol. And honestly I think the challenge on the goalkeeper was a good 50/50. Thought we do not have the other camera angle to see if it should’ve indeed been a yellow. Great game and good reffing on the most part. 0/10 for the spectators

Crawford definitely looked the more dangerous team and deserve the win. That was a really soft 2nd yellow for that red card though. Looks like the white actually got to the ball first and kicked it off the keeper before colliding. Ref didn’t have a terrible game, but not a great one either.
I do not understand why you think that was a soft 2nd yellow, you can’t have studs exposed into anyone but doing that to a goalkeeper makes that even worse. I would be interested in if you can elaborate on why you think it’s a soft yellow.

@@tylerv1128 first off, I don't see the striker with his studs exposed. His right foot's toes are pointed down as he attempts to poke the ball past. He gets to the ball first, which then careens off the keeper's left side and goes out of bounds. The keeper and attacker both made a 50/50 play on the ball. They collided. There shouldn't even be a foul given, much less a yellow card. But amateur referees seem to think goalies are protected... which they aren't. Fouling a goalie is the same as fouling any other player on the field. In this case, it was a 50/50 ball and the players collided while both getting a touch on the ball.
That's why I think it's a soft yellow. Not because it was a soft collision, but because it shouldn't have been called as a foul.
@@tylerv1128 and you're assumption that "doing that to a goalkeeper makes it even worse" is wrong. Goalies have zero extra protections than the other 10 players on the pitch. This is a common misconception. From the referee's handbook: "There is no rule that “protects the goalie” from contact initiated by other players - as long as that contact is not against the requirements for a fair charge and does not happen when the goalkeeper is attempting to release the ball for others to play - in other words, to punt or throw the ball out of the penalty area."

If you can't understand that those types of crowds are part of the game of soccer/football then that's one of reasons why the game here in U.S is levels behind other countries and why we can't compete at the highest levels. Watch soccer from other countries and being rowdy is normal.
