  • Here's a walk around of my Venom Ghost 250 from VenomMotorsportsUSA.com. I've been under the weather for the past few days so been stuck in the house because I had to stay out the heat and sun. I got up early while it was nice and cool and cloudy to install the windshield. Once it got to hot it was back in the house. I shot this just before sunset.

      Venom has gotten the manufacture to really step up the quality on these bikes. I plan on putting saddle bags on her. Performance wise I'll start off slow. Tune the carb for sure. 36 tooth rear sprocket. Remove the cat, then later on after I get some mile on it I'll install a head I already ported, a more aggressive cam, 4 degree timing key and shave the head to bump up the compression ratio. I'll install an oil cooler before the summer. I see no need for it right now for the winter time.

    Thanks for the video -- and the ones about the X22R. I got interested in this company just today after thinking I would get a CSC San Gabriel 250 for sure. I was very excited to find out Venom's bikes go faster (at least the X22R does) AND they're a few hundred dollars cheaper. BUUUUT then I read some customer reviews saying their services are very lacking, especially when it comes to the warranty -- and that they are of low quality. I know you say your X22R is really well made, but what has been your experience with Venom's customer service? Are you able to speak to any differences you know of between Venom and CSC?

    • @JerryHawk250
      @JerryHawk250  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Venom customer service has been great. There bikes also come with one year bumper to bumper warranty. Venom wants customer feed back so they can constantly improve there produce. The new 2020 ghost is a good example with some of the improvements I suggested. They communicate well thought the purchase and after. They have been the best dealer I've dealt with. I've purchase two bikes from Venom and would buy another from them in a heart beat. I never dealt with CSC so really can't comment on there service but from the ones who have on chinariders speak highly of them as well.

    • @JerryHawk250
      @JerryHawk250  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      BTW. The OHC engine that come on these bikes will out perform the CG250 push rod engine any day as far as speed. The CG 250 is a good low end torque engine that's better for off road. I've already proven that with my Hawk and the X22R. More engine performance parts for the OHC engine.

    • @RorysReadingSmartsTough
      @RorysReadingSmartsTough 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JerryHawk250 Thanks a lot. What made you decide to buy the X22R to begin with? Are there any published reviews you can point me to? Also, it seems like the warranty on the Venom products would not cover labor, just parts and shipping. Can you speak to that? Have you had to use the warranty at all?

    • @JerryHawk250
      @JerryHawk250  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RorysReadingSmartsTough I purchased the X22R to have a bike capable of riding on the interstate. My hawk didn't feel safe at those speeds but great for riding back roads and trails. The X22R handles high speed very well. Almost drives itself without having fight steering it at high speeds. There are a few video reviews on TH-cam on the X22R. Only warranty issue I had was a cracked fairing that was damaged in shipping. Venom sent out a new panel right away. Besides that the bike has been solid with no issue's. The quality of the Ghost seems to be even better that the X22R. Venom is very willing to work with the customer. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them.

This bike is best for 60-65mph riding. If you plan on doing long distance it would be best to look into something in the 400cc or higher range. Lifan will be importing the KPT400 next year.
