Even in the 1999-2000 meta ritual monsters were still pretty inconsistent and bad You have to have two specific cards in your hand and other monsters to tribute and what you get can still be easily removed with dark hole, raigeki, mirror force, change of heart, etc.
For Silent Magician I find it interesting that you didn't mention Silent Burning (which searches her) or Silent Swordsman which was even harder to bring out prior to the new support.
Silent Swordsman was actually my introduction to "modern" Yu-Gi-Oh and its powercreep. When I was a kid, back when the game was pretty new (early 2000s), I played the game a lot with my dad and a couple friends (as well as some of the PC games, like Power of Chaos which I still love). A few years ago, on a bit of a nostalgia kick, we picked up some modern cards, Silent Swordsman among them, and I tried them out with my younger brother. Needless to say, the power difference was astonishing.

Relinquished is also a rather potent and unique monster, with some extensive support and potential for interesting plays, on top of being a component for some of the more useful fusions in the game.
Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth actually got anothet summon support in the form of Parasite Paranoid which equips itself to an opponents monster, making them and insect, preventing them from attacking insect monsters and when Paranoid is sent to the grave you can special summon any insect monster in your hand, ignoring summoning conditions.
So I just realized something. You can combo Cocoon of Ultra Evolution and Parasite Paranoid together to summon 2 Perfectly Ultimate Great Moths at the same time. Or any other high level insect monster.
The main thing that I learned from this video is that *_YOU CAN CUT VIDEOS INTO SEGMENTS NOW?!_* I mean, like, the progress bar. Look at it. That's pretty cool.

Even if it was for a short time and never saw competitive play, as a GX fan it warms my heart to see a strategy that even semi-effectively combines Cyber Dragons and Vehicroids. It's just nice to think of it as something that might happen in a tag duel with Sho and Ryo.

I personally love The Eye of Timaeus. IMO it's the equivalent of Mask Change for Dark Magician. Being able to summon any Dark Magician fusion with only one monster was something that really helped the fusion side of the archetype. If only Timaeus was searchable, then it would be amazing.
I hated how its locked to DM though. It made no sense to be locked into only DM fusions due to in-lore, it can combine with any monster(such as with Poison Butterfly, but plot said no to that). It restricted the potential for Timaeus fusions due to that.. I know the only Timaeus Fusions we saw was with DM and DMG but that doesn't mean to lock Timaues to DM, it killed its potential for new Fusions like a "what-if" monster for Poison Butterfly.
4:28 kinda funny how Zane's deck helped/used syrus deck. and then just ditched said strategy. although then again syrus used the cyber dragon deck so.... using a cyber dragon tu summon a roid probably was like getting in touch with his roots
my old Holactie FTK required you to open with: either 1x Soul Charge or 1x Double Summon 1x Magical Merchant 1x Book of Taiyou 1x Ra 1x Holactie set Magical Merchant, flip it face-up with Book of Taiyou, mill until you reach either the Soul Charge or Double Summon and add to your hand. Soul Charge out the Slifer and Obelisk you milled with Magical Merchant + 3 random monsters and Double summon to tribute for Ra. Summon Holactie and win ...yeah it was an awful deck

A-to-Z and Armed DCC are some of the most powerful monsters in the game, yet their summoning conditions are such a steep uphill battle it's not worth going for them, but if you could use them you'd have a monster that has infinite Omni-negation as long as you have discard-fodder (A-to-Z) and a card that prevents your opponent from activating the effects of cards with the same name as every card that is currently banished and can banish all cards on your opponent's field and in their GY by simply banishing one card from either your deck or extra deck (Armed DCC)
Dark Magical Circle. Basically a slightly restricted Pot of Duality (without the no Special Summoning restriction) upon activation, and when paired up with something like Eternal Soul, essentially lets you banish an opponent's card (any card) every turn as long as you can special summon a Dark Magician.
the seven spirit gates unleashed and sacred beast awakening, so generic way to fetch from GY any continuous spell trap you only need to send any continuous to grave and it comes back costlessly by reviving yubel with the seven spirit gates unleashed or controlling an eldlich the golden lord where both are extremely easy monsters to get to the GY and then revive them
Update to the Armytile: it now also has a fusion summonable version that basically just gets to banish your opponent's whole field in exchange for bringing out Armytile. No, I don't know how this counts as a cost either, but the card acts like it is. Only real cost to it is that it activates at the end phase, and quite frankly, a field nuke at the end phase isn't the worst spot to be in if they already set their board, but didn't have enough negates to block the play.
@@evan64915 technically those do get used, just not directly. I don't think a list can be made with the "use" part of it, because if you do not use it in any way then it's just a dead card in your deck. If you added the "use" part then it is just "top 10 garnets"
@@josemartinfriasaguirre8393 Then they're not Garnets. Garnets by nature are combo fodder to avoid having on the field or hand because they're used as material for some other effect to be consumed. You don't want a garnet on the field, otherwise it's not a garnet, it's more likely a combo piece or an actually useful monster. A card that is basically useless in your hand and equally so when summoned to the field is how I view the term of "Garnet" because that was literally Gem Knight Garnet back in the Brilliant Fusion days. Edit: To clarify- Just because it *can* be summoned doesn't mean that's what you want. Garnet could be normal summoned. You really, really didn't want to normal/special summon Garnet or have him in your hand for any reason.

i use the cocoon of ultra evolution in my inzektor deck in duel links. first,banish opponent's backrow with cosmic cyclone,then summon centipede and equip it with hornet,send hornet to GY to destroy 1 of your opponent's card and also search zektahawk from the deck using centipede's effect,then activate bandit Keith's switcheroo if the perfectly ultimate great moth is accidentally on the starting hand. attack with zektahawk equipped centipede,then activate cocoon of ultra evolution from the hand. this deck helped me passed the first stage of KC grand tournament this month on the first day,better otk than hero.

I used and still have my old VWXYZ deck and never really had that much of a problem getting it out. It wasn’t easy for sure but it wasn’t ever really that terrible, especially if you use a lot of spell and traps(back then) to stall your opponent enough, as well as built your deck around the fushion material monsters which wasn’t hard in itself either. Idk this card is one of my favorites back in the day and didn’t have much issue with it, so feels odd that it’s on the list, maybe it’s here simply because it got a better way of getting out which is fair.
In the old days, A guy in our Yugioh meeting group used to have Odd deck archetypes: Insect, Rock, Fish, etc... Once he pulled a deck just to achieve the summoning of the perfect moth. He never gave up and we never hesitates while dueling him, don't get it wrong, he was a real pro gamer, but he was a guy that truly had fun playing yugioh, even with odd decks. We all have a friendship rule that, if he was able to summons the perfect moth we surrended the duel. 1 out of 5 he was able to summoning the Perfectly Great Moth.
Instant Fusion + The Dark - Hex-sealed Fusion = Dark Flare Knight Only takes a spell and a normal summon. Had a deck for it once upon a time and surprised a friend with it. Not at all viable anymore, but it was fun at the time
What about Odin, it used to hard to summon, but with gullveig, any nordic monster can summon him with no setup, as long of you have 3 other cards in your hand
Maybe it's just me, but wouldn't Sorcerer of Dark Magic be easier to bring out with Gagagas cause of their level changing effects or with Magician Navigation which lets you instantly summon the materials you need to sacrifice (two Level 6 or higher Spellcasters)?
And with Spellcaster Synchros, when those first came out, Synchro Cat became a thing and that made getting the required Tributes for Sorceror much easier.
Gate Guardian’s still pretty hard to bring out. Even with Pendulum cards, it’s still hard to have four specific cards in your hand at the one time. Any good support to bring Gate Guardian out faster?
Wheevil plays Cocoon of ultra evolution in the story mode of Link Evolution. Pretty sneaky of him to put this card in his old deck almost 20 years later
Honorable mention: Rainbow Dragon. Tribrigades make it comically easy to turbo out the card in a dedicated deck. And the resulting combination of archetypes is not a gimmick by any means, and instead it's outright terrifying if allowed to go off, even through hand traps, due to the surprisingly perfect sinergy that I have a hard time believing was not done on purpose. Crystal Beasts fix the main weakness of Tribrigade of lacking field presence by spamming Ruby through Crystal Beacon to ready up multiple generic links while simultaneously filling up the GY for the Tribrigades to double up on the board. Even if unreliable because of it's inability to be searched, their field spell, Ancient City Rainbow Ruins, comes with not-even-once-per-chain built-in backrow negate that can shield your boards from opposing Evenly Matched, Dark Ruler No More, etc. wich usually annihilate Tribrigade boards. Meanwhile, Tribrigade Kerass, Ferrijit and Bearbrum turn the "bad" Crystal Beasts that otherwise would get stuck your hand into a valuable resource to fuel their effects, all while setting up for the glorious summon of the legendary dragon of light.
you can use jar of greed + Silent Magician lvl4 to fullfill the 5 spell counter need. Or if you are using a draw mill with like gift card or the one that makes them draw as much as they discarded to get to absurd levels of atk power and then have a 6000 atk beatstick. Sounds like a fun FaDe deck.
Of course the best way to cheat out the roid boss monster is a cyber dragon monster. Because Zane plays cyber dragons and his little brother Syrus plays roids, who combined their decks in season 4 of Gx.
I dont know how many times this happened but what about the flip side of this video: monsters that used to be easy to bring out but arent anymore due to hits on the banlist.
Bring out divine neos that way isn’t much better because it is also a level 12 fusion monster so it really can’t attack anything, so unless you just want isn’t effect then sure but like you said there really isn’t any good targets for it’s effect.

Fusion Tag, in the OCG, can make VWXYZ easier to summon by changing the name of any monster into XYZ Dragon Cannon which means you only have to summon VW legitimately. If you want to make things even easier, you can use a card like Phantom of Chaos to copy the name of a VW that you dumped with Foolish Burial Goods, Cyberdark Cannon, or Zaborg the Mega Monarch.

Update to the Armytile: it now also has a fusion summonable version that basically just gets to banish your opponent's whole field in exchange for bringing out Armytile. No, I don't know how this counts as a cost either, but the card acts like it is. Only real cost to it is that it activates at the end phase, and quite frankly, a field nuke at the end phase isn't the worst spot to be in if they already set their board, but didn't have enough negates to block the play.

I loved how Sam from TeamSamuraiX1 managed to summon Holactie in Master Duel. Just a few seconds on the timer left but he actually managed to do it.

@@josemartinfriasaguirre8393 Then they're not Garnets. Garnets by nature are combo fodder to avoid having on the field or hand because they're used as material for some other effect to be consumed. You don't want a garnet on the field, otherwise it's not a garnet, it's more likely a combo piece or an actually useful monster. A card that is basically useless in your hand and equally so when summoned to the field is how I view the term of "Garnet" because that was literally Gem Knight Garnet back in the Brilliant Fusion days.
Edit: To clarify- Just because it *can* be summoned doesn't mean that's what you want. Garnet could be normal summoned. You really, really didn't want to normal/special summon Garnet or have him in your hand for any reason.

And I am sure he has seen the comments about their pronunciation, and yet hasn't adressed it or corrected it.

Perfectly ultimate great moth has an extremely hard and convoluted effect to bring out a 3500 atk beatstick. Or u can just equip Gemini elf with United we stand while u have it and 1 other monster on the field to get the same thing

i use the cocoon of ultra evolution in my inzektor deck in duel links. first,banish opponent's backrow with cosmic cyclone,then summon centipede and equip it with hornet,send hornet to GY to destroy 1 of your opponent's card and also search zektahawk from the deck using centipede's effect,then activate bandit Keith's switcheroo if the perfectly ultimate great moth is accidentally on the starting hand. attack with zektahawk equipped centipede,then activate cocoon of ultra evolution from the hand. this deck helped me passed the first stage of KC grand tournament this month on the first day,better otk than hero.
Horus LV8 has been one of my all time favorite monsters, I wish it would've gotten some support instead of that last armed dragon crap

I used and still have my old VWXYZ deck and never really had that much of a problem getting it out. It wasn’t easy for sure but it wasn’t ever really that terrible, especially if you use a lot of spell and traps(back then) to stall your opponent enough, as well as built your deck around the fushion material monsters which wasn’t hard in itself either.
Idk this card is one of my favorites back in the day and didn’t have much issue with it, so feels odd that it’s on the list, maybe it’s here simply because it got a better way of getting out which is fair.

Doesn't Ra's Disciple technically help all the God Cards? Their effect is that they can only be tributed for a summon of them.
In the old days, A guy in our Yugioh meeting group used to have Odd deck archetypes: Insect, Rock, Fish, etc...
Once he pulled a deck just to achieve the summoning of the perfect moth. He never gave up and we never hesitates while dueling him, don't get it wrong, he was a real pro gamer, but he was a guy that truly had fun playing yugioh, even with odd decks.
We all have a friendship rule that, if he was able to summons the perfect moth we surrended the duel. 1 out of 5 he was able to summoning the Perfectly Great Moth.

Maybe it's just me, but wouldn't Sorcerer of Dark Magic be easier to bring out with Gagagas cause of their level changing effects or with Magician Navigation which lets you instantly summon the materials you need to sacrifice (two Level 6 or higher Spellcasters)?
And with Spellcaster Synchros, when those first came out, Synchro Cat became a thing and that made getting the required Tributes for Sorceror much easier.

Honorable mention: Rainbow Dragon. Tribrigades make it comically easy to turbo out the card in a dedicated deck.
And the resulting combination of archetypes is not a gimmick by any means, and instead it's outright terrifying if allowed to go off, even through hand traps, due to the surprisingly perfect sinergy that I have a hard time believing was not done on purpose.
Crystal Beasts fix the main weakness of Tribrigade of lacking field presence by spamming Ruby through Crystal Beacon to ready up multiple generic links while simultaneously filling up the GY for the Tribrigades to double up on the board.
Even if unreliable because of it's inability to be searched, their field spell, Ancient City Rainbow Ruins, comes with not-even-once-per-chain built-in backrow negate that can shield your boards from opposing Evenly Matched, Dark Ruler No More, etc. wich usually annihilate Tribrigade boards.
Meanwhile, Tribrigade Kerass, Ferrijit and Bearbrum turn the "bad" Crystal Beasts that otherwise would get stuck your hand into a valuable resource to fuel their effects, all while setting up for the glorious summon of the legendary dragon of light.

you can use jar of greed + Silent Magician lvl4 to fullfill the 5 spell counter need.
Or if you are using a draw mill with like gift card or the one that makes them draw as much as they discarded to get to absurd levels of atk power and then have a 6000 atk beatstick.

Of course the best way to cheat out the roid boss monster is a cyber dragon monster. Because Zane plays cyber dragons and his little brother Syrus plays roids, who combined their decks in season 4 of Gx.
I dont know how many times this happened but what about the flip side of this video: monsters that used to be easy to bring out but arent anymore due to hits on the banlist.

Bring out divine neos that way isn’t much better because it is also a level 12 fusion monster so it really can’t attack anything, so unless you just want isn’t effect then sure but like you said there really isn’t any good targets for it’s effect.

We straight up just called it "V to Z Drag cannon" in my group of friends lol
Fusion Tag, in the OCG, can make VWXYZ easier to summon by changing the name of any monster into XYZ Dragon Cannon which means you only have to summon VW legitimately. If you want to make things even easier, you can use a card like Phantom of Chaos to copy the name of a VW that you dumped with Foolish Burial Goods, Cyberdark Cannon, or Zaborg the Mega Monarch.

true but 1, he was talking about non-utopia decks and 2, while summoning it the utopia way is easy, it also nerfs its potential to hit the field with 12,000atk and your opponent cant do shit
