The very first video about Kathmandu that I created where I ventured out trying the minibus with other local. From Manamaiju to the touristy center of Thamel, I get to experience everything in one day. I explored several temples, shops and many other things. As I was trying to go back to my accommodation, I realized that there is no organized transportation system in Kathmandu. I didn't know how to get back to my accommodation and was helped by the locals.

    ABOUT ME
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello there! If you make it this far, welcome!
I am Syifa, an Indonesian female solo traveler, who started solo traveling in 2013. I enjoy budget traveling by staying with locals, motorbike riding but also like to explore local food.
After working for the government till 2016, I left Indonesia to pursue long-term traveling. As naive as I was, it only lasted me for 5 months throughout Asia. In January 2017 I moved to China for an English teaching job, which was considered to be my first living abroad experience. Stayed until May 2018, living in China has changed me, in a good way.
I love traveling and creating travel videos on TH-cam. It is such a rewarding work for me that I do wish this would last me for a while.

    Hello everyone,
Wow, I didn't expect this video to receive such good response especially by Nepali people.
Welcome to the channel for those of you who are new here. I am Syifa, from Indonesia and have been solo travel since 2013. And yes, during my time in Nepal since last October, I have been told by many that I look like Nepali. :)
Thank you so so much for your support, kind comment, appreciation to this video. It means a lot to me to receive each one of your messages, comments and emails. I will try to respond to individual comment soon.
I have 2 weeks remaining time in Nepal and I am trying to catch up with remaining video ideas I am working on. Thank you again, so so much for your kind response. I will try to get back on them asap! :)

I lived in Kathmandu from 1983 to 1987 as my father was working as Pakistan Intenational Airlines Station Manager. We were living as I remember in Ganeshwar area. We had beautiful neighbours particularly Sharma gee whose son was studying in Pakistan and completed his studies as Doctor. PIA office was at Darbar Marg and it was more beautiful and quite when I use to live in Kathmandu. I particularly loved Bhagtapur. I love Nepal and its people. Love from Pakistan for all the people in Nepal. I have always remembered Nepal as my second home.

While India is 1/3rd the size of China it lacks vastly and is not even comparable. Even African cities like Adis Baba, Nairobi put shame to big Indian cities, the country from which our leaders take inspirations, that is why our cities are all jokes, Chinese or European villages are better than our cities.

Syifa, thanks again! I recognize some places you went to. I was down in KTM every weekend to party so I was mostly in Thamel. You know... I loved the chaos somehow. The crowds, the dust, the drivers... its chaotic but it works. I'm from Germany so everything here is regulated, orderly, linear. I like improvising like that better :D
Well lthe people there are so... focused on people. Here everyone is focused on job, money, car etc. Nepal suits me better I think...Did you see the electric wiring? OMG how does anything work there at all?
You know what Syifa? I've never been to a place where you can leave your things unattended and it's still there after an hour. Happened to me so often in Nepal. People even look after you stuff and give it to you! I also had some disturbing experiences like the position of women in the society and the high unemployment rate with its nasty consequences.

For every tourists visiting Nepal, its all starts off in Kathmandu(capital city of Nepal) & because its the capital city you'll surely find crowdy places, dusty coz most areas of this city is under construction. But you'll get all the facility here. From cheaper to expensive hotels, foods, groceries, clothes etc.
& to those who are not fond of this kind of place there are lots of other places in Nepal to go to. Where there is less pollution, peaceful. Most of people will suggest Pokhara which is one of the beautiful place to go to. You'll get the buses from Kathmandu not only for pokhara but for almost every cities in Nepal. You just have to know where you're going.

No matter where you travel, you can always find a rush hour! I'm very thankful that here there isn't a guy shoving us into a tiny bus packed full of people! Normally I get so hungry watching you try new and interesting foods, but I'm really not so sure about the buffalo dumplings. I guess that it's always fun to try what the locals are eating, but it looks like sometimes you're going to end up with a surprise meal! I hope that you made it back to where you were staying safely. All the best from (snowy)Toronto. Thanks for sharing another interesting adventure, and looking forward to the next one!

So u should keep in mind that people like u made ktm a hard place to live in.
