Newar is the historical inhabitants of the Kathmandu Valley and its surroundings. Today, I was brought to NEWA LAHANA in the ancient and charming town of Kirtipur. Newa Lahana is an authentic restaurant run solely by Newari women serving Newari cuisine. I also happen to try Sapu Mhichā, which is a special dish consisting of buffalo leaf tripe stuffed with bone marrow.

    ABOUT ME:
In 2013, I started my solo travel journey, leaving Indonesia in 2016 to become a full-time traveler and TH-cam creator. My background in International Relations has fueled a profound interest in exploring different countries. My content focuses on exploring different cultures through the lens of a solo female traveler, aiming to capture real-life interactions and experiences.
My travels kicked off with a five-month trip across Asia, after which I moved to China in January 2017 to work as an English teacher-my first time living abroad. I left China in 2018 to fully commit to creating videos on TH-cam, where I share my travels and the cultures I encounter.
Living nomadically since 2016, I settled in England in early 2022 after marrying my British husband, David. Now based in the UK, I continue to travel and share my adventures on TH-cam.

    Hello everyone,
I hope you have had a great day so far! This is another video from recovered series of Nepal edited by my partner (th-cam.com/video/ySjptv3WCaM/w-d-xo.html )
In today's video, Juli brought me to Newa Lahana in the ancient town of Kirtipur. This authentic restaurant serves Newari cuisine and I was lucky that I get to try some of them. Juli also asked me to try Sapu Mhichā, which is a special dish consisting of buffalo leaf tripe stuffed with bone marrow. It was a rather interesting experience and I hope you enjoyed this episode.
Tell me, would you like to try bone marrow?

@ꯆꯤꯡꯈꯩꯉꯥꯟꯕ ꯃꯌꯥꯡꯂꯃꯕꯝ I am from Nepal and I have met some Indians who were wonderful human beings, unfortunately, there are a few rotten apples... Anyway, while acknowledging the negative, let us not forget the positive aspects of India...

    • @sadhanarana9518
      @sadhanarana9518 5 ปีที่แล้ว

@Peaklover Shauka Yes, everyone has the right to express his or her opinion, but we have to strive to maintain a balance. India is such a diverse country. It is almost a world in itself. We cannot form an opinion about all Indians on the basis of our experiences with some Indians. However, I would like to add that Indians should also not over-react. Let Syifa have her say, if you agree with her, well and good, and if you don't, then you can give your reasons for not agreeing with her in a logical manner. Not everyone will form a positive impression of a country or its people. I guess that's okay because we have to accept the brickbats along with the bouquets! Take it all in your stride and move on... In conclusion, the people of all countries in this world must think about how to make public and private spaces safer for all of us and act to achieve this goal. Peace...

Abhijit, as a woman, I personally feel like she needs to go home and stay there if that is how she feels about being stared at. Looking at someones ‘breast’ will happen in any country. I’m blonde with baby blue eyes, not a model but I get complimented and get my fair share of stares, it’s part of life. Nobody touched her, said rude comments, or did anything else but look/stare. Probably many think like me and it’s the reason she disabled the comments in that video. And staring at a beautiful woman is typical from all men (no offense to any man, it’s just their nature any many women will stare too)
If my post offends someone, so be it because I think her video was total nonsense. Signing off.

Men, please don't fall for the crocodile tears.
To put things into perspective, The entire Population of North American Continent + Entire Population of South American Continent + Entire population of European Continent is still less than the population of your country. India still has a lower crime count than 3 continents combined.
Indian crime rate is lower than US, you are more likely to get raped here than in India.
Watch the video, The whole video looks fake anyway. She actually waits for the perfect time to start dropping tears.
Looks like a typical cry-me-a-river style Chinese sponsored youtube propaganda video they used to do a few years back against Taiwan's tourism industry.
Watch that video a few more times, I am sure you are smart enough to quickly realize out how fake it really is

A few years back, on a trip to Paris, I had marrow soup, in a restaurant where that was the specialty. An entire bowl, swimming in marrow! Yummm.

Syifa, great to see U back doing ur Vlogs after ur bad experience in India. I cannot believe with India becoming so modern, some of the Males are still so lecherous towards females. Just be very careful & at all times be alert and do not let ur guard down. The obnoxious males if they feel U r not assertive and just a tourist, that's when they take advantage and feel ur vulnerability. Just be tough & stay strong. Cheers!

wonderful and Inspirational. I didn't ses you in facebook - My cousin actually shared my content in the facebook (mentioning you with one of your videos of Nepal appealing the government to actually invest on better services for travelers) and mentioned you in the Instagram which you duly responded. :) I was really ecstatic.
Wish you a very best with everything you are doing. Travel safe, travel a lot..

The thing filled with bone marrow, its actually tied with a string at one end so when you eat, you should put the whole thing in your mouth and bite of the part that has the string. Otherwise you will also consume the string.

@kiran gowda your comment shows what kind of mentality you people have. Rape happens everywhere around the world. But it's more COMMON in India. You have 400 Million people living under poverty. That speaks for itself.....

That expression in disgust was hilarious 😂. You should have tried buffalo's tongue fried dishes as well.
Because meat was once considered rarity and exquisite, like 100 years ago, no part of the animal was wasted, and thus the tradition of cooking variety of dishes with every part of the animal was established, which is still continued today as part of our food culture.
This place is one of few traditional Newari restaurant in Kathmandu valley where you will find an authentic Newari cuisines with traditional typical receipe, and I am glad you went there. Before switching to a vegetarian diet, I had been there dozens of time; tried mostly chicken dishes- as red meat was not of my type-, and enjoyed the most.
