My mom, daughter and I were recently vacationing in Scotland and attended the Tattoo. My mom was excited about going. Me, not so much. I thought it was going to be boring. I couldn't have been more wrong. I was astounded! We had fantastic seats up front and center. I wish I'd taken my camera with me but we were afraid it was going to rain. Hello from Croatia, a beatiful country on the Adriatic sea (south Europe). We like to call her "small peace of paradise". But something totally strange happens every time I hear this music. Ever since I can remember, I feel strong love of Scottish bagpipes, as if I was there many times (and I have never been, though I want it badly ). It is so strange to feel such a deep connection with a country I've never visited ! Past life . . . ???? Never mind, all that matters is this unique and simply irresistable music. Greetings to all bagpipes music lovers!

I just found this performance on You Tube. It was from the 2013 Edinburgh Military Tattoo. THAT IS THE MONTH AND YEAR WE VISITED SCOTLAND AND ATTENDED A PERFORMANCE OF THE TATTOO at Edinburgh Castle. One of the best events I ever attended.
My maternal ancestors are from Scotland and I have been to Edinburgh during the summer of 1984; very nice city and I want to go back to definitely see this being performed!
I am an exiled Scot and I was able to go and see this in 2013. What a wonderful night it was and I bought the DVD. I took 3 Russians with me and the look on their faces to see Edinburgh and the Castle. They were astounded with all of it. Even they said they could feel "something" when they heard the skirl of the pipes. Nothing else comes close to this.
My name is Alexander Samuel James Larnach... my family and i where brought up in the Highlands of Scotland, Caithness, Wick... my ancestors fought the English under the clan of the stewards!!! As the Scottish national anthem sings..." those days are past now.. and in the past they must remain"!!. They were bad times but we are one now ... the majority see them selves as British. My great grandfather, my grandfather and my farther, proudly fought 1st and 2nd world, northern Ireland and the Falkland wars!! Under the crown they laid down there life for the crown and as one!!! They where proud scottish men from the Highlands of Scotland!!! They proudly fought under the flag of the union jack.. god save the queen!!! And rest in peace my loved ones and brothers in arms!!! Scotland, England, wales and Northern Ireland!!! God bless the united kingdom 🇬🇧 the bagpipes are from Scotland, Northern England and Ireland... this makes me proud to be British 🇬🇧
My ancestors were from Scotland and my 4th great-grandparents were from Ireland so I feel Celtic pride when I hear bagpipes and the drums I love, I especially love the Highland music....
When I was a young lad, I learned to play the "pipes"...at age ten,all the way till I was 21, it was the most intriguing time of my life, learning the culture and living the life...and then...life has a crazy way of taking over some of your dreams. I miss those days, but I remember every tune, and how to play the pipes...I just wish I had the time to do so.
When you’re on a battlefield and you hear pipe and drum you either say “Thank God help has arrived”, or you say “Oh shit, I’m having a really bad day.”
Apparently the first to land on D-Day (the light glider infantry who successfully took Pegasus Bridge) knew they were about to be relieved because Lord Lovat wandered up the road with a lone piper in tow.
Oh Scotland, please never leave us. We have had a successful Union for centuries, it would be a shame for such a great and powerful partnership to end. We love you Scotland! God save the Queen!
I'm Spanish but every single time I hear the pipes and the drums I get chills all over. Pure joy. Sometimes I wish I was a Scotsman

I'm a NZ Maori with Scottish and Irish heritage, and this never gets old. As old as it is...
i've loved the sound of bagpipes for as long as i can remember.
Long life Scottish people, from Colombian Celtiberian family.❤
My mom, daughter and I were recently vacationing in Scotland and attended the Tattoo. My mom was excited about going. Me, not so much. I thought it was going to be boring. I couldn't have been more wrong. I was astounded! We had fantastic seats up front and center. I wish I'd taken my camera with me but we were afraid it was going to rain. The rain clouds blew off, and the weather was perfect.
For me, Scottish Pipes & Drums are the best music in the world... and I'm not a Scotsman, but I get goosebumps and tears in my eyes as soon as and as long as I hear them.
I've been lucky to see the Edinburgh Military Tattoo live three times so far, three unforgettable experiences for me that I will never forget.
"Slàinte!" 🍺
You have to be heartless if you don't understand and get the chills with the greatness and the valour of the Scots through all their history encased in this brilliant and moving performance!!!!! Scotland the Great! Always! Love from Mexico City
Immer gänsehaut dabei ❤😮
Hello from Croatia, a beatiful country on the Adriatic sea (south Europe). We like to call her "small peace of paradise".
But something totally strange happens every time I hear this music.
Ever since I can remember, I feel strong love of Scottish bagpipes, as if I was there many times (and I have never been, though I want it badly ). It is so strange to feel such a deep connection with a country I've never visited !
Past life . . . ????
Never mind, all that matters is this unique and simply irresistable music.
Greetings to all bagpipes music lovers!
I'm a Canadian I'm a decedent of the clan Cameron of lochelan I myself am a Cameron of erracht (senior cadet )( the ones that do the raiding) I'm getting kilt and bagpipes just because I discovered about my heritage after playing mount and blade and I discovered I love bagpipes
Lucky you Samuel! Greetings from Croatia.
Alba gu bràth!
My Dad took my Brother and I to the Tattoo in the early Eighties and it was out of this world. Sadly I lost them both to Alzheimer's in the last two years. I hope to return next year in their honour and I know they will both be at my side in spirit.
I’m so proud when I see someone from my country did this great work, Royal Guard of Oman 🇴🇲.
I'm Scottish and lived in Oman when I was a child and remember seeing the Omani pipers play at Muscat! Lovely country, great people.❤
I'm Scottish, spent 2 years at SOAF Thumrait. Great country and people.

The Pipe Major is probably the very best I've ever witnessed at this venue. Superb!

Have been blessed to attend the Tattoo. Wonderful. Magical. Fun.
Proud to be a Scots!!
At the end of the day extremely hard working dedicated talented people. Thank you all.
You gotta love Scotland and her people!!
Thank you! Hello from Auld Reekie Edinburgh! Long may your lum reek!
Nothing else comes close to this.
hmmm even they .. could feel .... i just find it amusing i dunno why
Respect from your Welsh Celtic brothers, long live Great Britain!
Ur a disgrace mate

Why would he be a disgrace for having pride? Think you are on the wrong video, pal.
My ancestors were from Scotland and my 4th great-grandparents were from Ireland so I feel Celtic pride when I hear bagpipes and the drums I love, I especially love the Highland music....
This was what the British empire would play when armies would go and fight
I think that constant drone that bagpipes make underneath the notes really adds a lot to their epic sound.
Of course!! You don't realise how vital the drones are to a good bagpipe sound until you play without them.
Get yourself some pipes lad its never to late!
Just make time, a little, each day....
I love pipes and drums. I think it’s vitally important that we all hold onto our culture, whatever it may be.
some ppl hate pipes but i find them mesmerising and just love them LOUD ;)
When you’re on a battlefield and you hear pipe and drum you either say “Thank God help has arrived”, or you say “Oh shit, I’m having a really bad day.”
Or you will turn tail and run
well bagpipes where considered weapons of war up until the mid 90s or something like that.
I am a piper as well
Imagine hearing the drums from 3:37 in the dead of night. Silence, then suddenly… HOLY SH*T!!
Apparently the first to land on D-Day (the light glider infantry who successfully took Pegasus Bridge) knew they were about to be relieved because Lord Lovat wandered up the road with a lone piper in tow.
Massive chills! Every Scotsman now or past has to feel the magic of this!
100% Carolyn!
Oh Scotland, please never leave us. We have had a successful Union for centuries, it would be a shame for such a great and powerful partnership to end. We love you Scotland! God save the Queen!
Am close to shed tears of joy when I hear the pipes and drums. My favorite is the Highland Cathedral.
If you don’t shed a tear watch this there’s no hope . Good lads excellently done ✅
God has truly been so gracious and kind. He made me a Scot! So proud of my Clan Cumming heritage!
