Thanks, brother! I just ran threw it. No sweat whatsoever. You are a lifesaver! I'm glad I didn't go through the dealer. I went on eBay, bought me a brand new OEM fob for $90 rather than the dealer charging me $202 for the fob and then charging me an additional $130 to program it for me. I owe you a case of beer, man. Bless you and stay safe. 💯
I cant get it. I left the key found in my house away from the car. When the 3rd 10 minutes was over it says ready for fob #1. I only have 1 fob to program. So I put the fob in and it says ready for #2. So then while the fob is still in the slot I hit the bottom half of the on button. It than says no fob detected but I hear the relays turn on. So I don't know whats going on?
Awesome job... Just programmed my 2010 Z06. I have to admit I was nervous about disabling my car, but it worked the first time. Thank you so much for your video, you did a great job.
At the start of this video you laid out the fobs on the wash/dryer, I assumed that your fob crapped out because it was laundered. I did that to one of my Fobs for my Dodge RAM, couldn't find my keys anywhere and then I realized that they were in my other pants... the ones going thru a rinse cycle. But it still works, surprising.
Thanks alot for the video my fob fell off my key chain, thankfully the key was still attached. I ordered another fob from Amazon followed your steps and first try she started up. Thanks alot
Randy I noted that on the 3rd and final key you reached over to the start button and pushed the button (lower part) without taking the 3rd key out of the slot. Do you think that was it? That may have let the car know that there were no more keys?
Yep, good video Randy... yep learn to program at home, taking to dealership will easily run you 3 to 400 without question for a 30 min job.. let that sink hahaha... that video was well worth putting up. And they will make you wait around for like 2hrs acting like it was labor intensive to do so it fools people into thinking there was a lot of work involved.. So frustrating. None of my fobs were working. Ive done it 3 times start to finish. the fobs never work. Both have newer batteries. I had 1 near the car when I started the last 2 times...removing it from the area to start. 3rd time, left the 2nd fob in the slot and hit the stop button as a change. nothing. 4th time...removed all fobs from area before starting. going to get new batteries as a change up too. also removed the key after turning it to get into prog mode. I learned for attempt 3 that another set of instructions says you MUST hit unlock of each fob to finalize the programming and confirm operation.....but it doesn't say when>> after you hit stop on the acc button or before? with the last fob in the slot or none? I refuse to tow this to the dealer. #4 SUCCESS after calling my salesman at chevy and having him talk to a tech....he said to hold the stop button down for 15 secs to be sure it is getting completely out of learning mode....I was merely tapping it before and it was clicking, IDK....either it was that or I also got new batteries in both remotes. I know I replaced both this year...but regardless, IT WORKS.

If anyone is watching this wondering how you put your window down if you don't have a fob working you don't need to put your window down. Also just bring the keys with you doesn't matter how close as long as not in the slot

So I'm going to use your instructions and completely re program my FOBs to see if that fixes the problem . worked thanks. the one thing i noticed though, it seems in yours the car is in accessory mode when you turn the key five times. that didnt work for me. got it to do it when it was off though. went perfectly from there.
Be sure to take the key back out of the trunk lock. I think the key could be removed after it is in programming mode but I didn't try it. My fobs didn't seem to work until I took the key back out though. And I think the first time I didn't have the fobs far enough away from the car.
I used to program Ford's at the dealership. 30 mins always put the car on the charger. It's made that way for anti theft stuff. So nobody can steal it easily

Congrats on the re-programming Randy, it can be frustrating for sure.. Not sure if you're aware, the C6 has an electric hatch pull to lock feature that is on all the cars. I am a new Canadian owner of a C6 and fob 2 shows “Options Unavailable” when I’ve tried to personalize it. The Owner’s Manual states that Canadian legislation requires fob reprogramming can only be done at a dealership. Has anyone successfully reprogrammed a fob in Canada with this method? My fob 2 works but only in USA units of measure. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
I think I see what you did wrong on the other tries and right on the last one. On the last try your third fob was turned so that the corvette symbol was facing the drivers side door, thats the correct way I believe, if you go back and look at the video you will see that. I believe the corvette symbol on the fob completes a circuit in the hole, not the buttons.
@rodw1105 yeah you're right, if you freeze frame at 8:33 you can see he put the 3rd fob in logo facing the passenger side, which tells me that perhaps it doesn't matter which way the buttons face as long as the antenna can read the fob. However, the manual does say buttons facing passenger side. I'm not taking any chances, lol.
I followed the instructions very accurately and when I’m done inserting the fobs into the glovebox slot, it still doesn’t work and says no fobs detected. Any tips?

2008 Corvette. Took me two times with this process. I programmed only ONE FOB. The first time did not work when leaving the FOB in the slot. However, on the 2nd atttempt, I waited for 10+ seconds after it read "ready for FOB #2." I removed the FOB and hit the bottom half the start button and it detected no FOB, but when hitting the "unlock" button on the FOB, it lit up and was programmed. Everything worked on the FOB. Hope this helps someone.
Please help! What am I doing wrong? I go through the process get “ready for fob 1” placed fob, “ready for fob 2” placed fob, “ready for fob 3”. I am only using 2 fobs. Fob 1 works, fob 2 nothing. Went through it 3 times, same result.
Hey man Ik this is four years to late but can you help me, I tried to reprogram my old one after a battery replacement on the car and the fob and I tried to unlock it and it wouldn’t work so I tried to put it in the glove slot and it said no fobs detected
I just went out and did the 30 min it recognize the fob because at the end of all the 30 minutes programming u notice it said welcome Don 1 fob so it recognize the fob but the car still didn't start and all the l7ghts are on the car reads Corvette on the dash board but no go and the engine light is on still but everything else work battery good so dont know what I'm doing wrong and I only have one remote the other we lost it in the ocean so what the deal u think .
*i don't forsee ever having this problem because i just can't stay away from 02-06 escalades at the moment and the fobs for those are super easy to program. this car of yours is a little in the confusing side and i'd have probably given up long before you did. i'm impatient with things like that and that's usually when problems occur*
Well your instructions were right on, I redid mine hoping it would fix my RCDRL fashing in time with my right turn signal. It did not but many thanks for the successful reprogram.
I did everything like u it work but now I have the engine light on and the car just came back from the shop so it should be good but when I start it I hear the little clicks if u know what I'm talking about that silent noise when u hit the start button when I hit to turn it off the acc is yellow and it says accessory mode on then I hit the circle button next to the acc it stays red then I lock the car and everything turns off and it locks itself so what could it be ?
Ah, so both of your paddle shifters say “+” too huh? lol I just got my c6 a couple of months ago and wondered about that, is it normal for them to not shift when pressed sometimes even in high rpms, I’m 90% sure mine are broken or c6 paddles work different than any others

Thanks for the video! I only have one key FOB, but it says that I've reached my limit of 4 programmed.... so I'll be doing this. I'm going to wait until my daily driver is out of the shop and in my possession just in case .......
@@isiahpink1987 My FOB actually fell apart when I went to replace the batteries. Looked like a small coil that became unsoldered. I knew at that point I was going to have to do the long program. So for some reason before I started to do it, I pushed some buttons on the new FOB and it worked!! I guess it did program previously and then posted the message about reaching the limit.
Does anyone know if the hatch HAS to be open? Has this worked without the hatch open? Mine is broken right now and I can open it so I have to take it to a shop to get it fixed.
Nice that the customer/end user can do this for themselves... I'm surprised that one of the steps isn't to stand on one leg and pat your head while rubbing your belly though... I'm sure when these cars came out this was a "secret" that only dealers knew....
Hey Randy, really hope you see this because I know this video is just about one year old 😬. But I accidentally washed and dried my key fob for a 13 grand sport, and at first if I would take it apart and put it back together I could get back into my car and crank it through the slot inside the glovebox but my dash would still say no fob detected? Now I can’t unlock the car at all anymore😫. Will reprogramming the fob solve this issue since it was working in the beginning? Thanks in advance!

If I change my bcm can I reprogram my key fob on 2011 C6. ?
OK every time I turn the key five times it tells me ready for five number one I never get a learning mode like you’re getting. How do we explain that?
Please help! What am I doing wrong? I go through the process get “ready for fob 1” placed fob, “ready for fob 2” placed fob, “ready for fob 3”. I am only using 2 fobs. Fob 1 works, fob 2 nothing. Went through it 3 times, same result.
Hey man Ik this is four years to late but can you help me, I tried to reprogram my old one after a battery replacement on the car and the fob and I tried to unlock it and it wouldn’t work so I tried to put it in the glove slot and it said no fobs detected
Good job
Put i try to turn my key for thousand time but nothing shows in the DIC
Any ideas !?
What happened to the good old fashioned keys lol
Exactly!! LOL
Exactly, I can go and get a key cut for my 1995 toyota but I can't get one cut for any new one.
Lol
I just went out and did the 30 min it recognize the fob because at the end of all the 30 minutes programming u notice it said welcome Don 1 fob so it recognize the fob but the car still didn't start and all the l7ghts are on the car reads Corvette on the dash board but no go and the engine light is on still but everything else work battery good so dont know what I'm doing wrong and I only have one remote the other we lost it in the ocean so what the deal u think .
Question, did you buy your new fob from the dealer, or off of Amazon or a similar outlet?
Good job
I think the programmed FOBs need to stay near the car while you do the programming
Learned something from you man
Thanks 👍👍👍👍🌹🌹🌹
hello I try it 5x but no respons what I doing wrong?? greetings from de netherlands
Where did you buy your key fob from?
Is that new fob oem or ebay knock off
Ah, so both of your paddle shifters say “+” too huh? lol I just got my c6 a couple of months ago and wondered about that, is it normal for them to not shift when pressed sometimes even in high rpms, I’m 90% sure mine are broken or c6 paddles work different than any others
Hallo,
I have a question.I have a Corvette C6 and whenever I open the drivers door I hear a beep beep. How can I disable this? Sorry for my bad english, I'm from Germany.
Thanks for the video! I only have one key FOB, but it says that I've reached my limit of 4 programmed.... so I'll be doing this. I'm going to wait until my daily driver is out of the shop and in my possession just in case .......
Long shot , but how did your process go? I also only have one key fob and need to reprogram it to #1 fob but scared to do so with just 1 fob , thanks
@@jrbird7571 nice ! Thanks for the feedback!
Randy, this is very helpful. I need to do this for my fobs. Thank you!!
You're welcome :)
LOL for real!!
What if you cannot roll drivers window down because the car isn’t recognizing any fobs
It worked like a charm thank you so much 😊
Insyructions paper doesn't show steps 1-10?
does it work the same way with a European model c6
hello is it possible to program a used key?
Yes you’re basically reprogramming the key. So if you have a used one you’ll reprogram it to the car that you want it to go to
How can I get it to say my name tho?
I'm happy for you. I'm trying tomorrow. I dont wanna spend 30 mins doing this
Well that looked like fun! I imagine that you will be doing that in your sleep for a few nights!!
For sure! I'm an "expert" now lol.
I can’t even get the 10 min auto learn to pop up after the 5 key turns
It’s not working for me as soon as I turn the key 5 times it says Fob 1 ready I never get the 10 min count down
Hey Randy where did you buy your new corvette C6 key fob ???
eBay. OEM for just under $200 new in the package.
Be advised this did not work for my Corvette. I’m thinking because 2000 50607. Don’t work like 200008 and we don’t get to learn. Looks like you do the procedure and it tells you what five is next program you stick it in thereand I’m having trouble programming anything for some reason.
Where did you get the key fob at?
