Sound like my dream place to ever be. Must say that its much like Berghain in all accepts expect the celebrities. Berghain is all those things.Truly magical. I am lucky that I get to experience BH times a year. Going the there today for my annual New Years celebration 7 years in a row now. Feel so lucky to be.
Studio 54 set the bar for what a dance club needed to be. All others were compared to Studio 54 as wannabees, no matter how big or fancy. We owe this to Carmen D'Alessio (Her idea for the club, PR Guestlist), owners Ian Schrager, Steve Rubell, door and gatekeeper Marc Benecke, Legendary Disc Jockeys Richie Kaczor, Robbie Leslie, Nicky Siano, Leroy Washington! There have been a few other legendary nightclubs around the world, but NOTHING compares to Studio 54 whatsoever!
That's how I felt about the 9:30 club and hammer jacks in the 80s , I discovered so much great music at these clubs , I would just go see who ever was playing , that's how I became a Pj Harvey fan 😆 she rocked
Great video........I was part of the "regulars" from the opening.........I loved the vibe and I really just had a great evening by not even paying much attention to "who" was there. I think that made a huge difference in the REAL enjoyment of going like once a week. The only other club in NY that matched 54 for amazing times was The Saint IMO.......Those days in NY are gone........AIDS changed the picture .
Indeed '' SIR '' Nile Rodgers Indeed , Studio 54 was really Magical ..............R.I.P. Steve Rubell............
Loved the whole disco era. Wish it was back again. What a great time.
