2023, almost 2024 and I'm still listening to this every now and then. After all these years, from kid playing Guild Wars to adult. This soundtrack has a very special place in my heart.
Same here. Even tho when I played that, I was young and scared of interacting with others (almost entire of the PvE content I did with henchmen only, lol) that's still my number 1 MMO game of all times. Tons of memories. Tons of time to remind me who I was. Still playing GW2, but this life is so much different than what it was when I could go back from school and play some fort aspenwood pvp match...
This game felt so magical. I remember my first time getting to Yak's Bend, and only beginning to realize what a massive world it was. I still think this game feels magical in an indescribable way.
Maaaan, I remember that, too. It was funny, though. i thought I could shut down the game at any time and reload it back to the mission I was doing. I think it was the one where you have to light beacons or something before going lions arch
The game servers are still up, and at least for Germany speaking, there are still some players. Its far from as populated as it was years ago but you still can have some nice adventures with the other players.
ah god i just put this on for probably the 15th time today.. sitting up.. 11pm..don't feel like playing any games..started tearing up. i miss this game and the people i got to spend so much time with back then, so so badly..if i could have it back, i would.
I know those feelings man.. No game will ever be better than it for me, I'll probably keep the memories of this game and all the amazing people I met on it forever.
yeah! One of the best soundtrack created for any game ever, plenty of friendly people, and truthfully, the most sociaial environment in any online game ive ever played. It's amazing how far the game went, even despite the fact it wasnt even planned this way. Truly a masterpiece.
I never see other people on a game who feel that .... I'm same guys .... I love listen some gw1 music and it's so sad :( ... I love all people that I have meet on this game , gw2 it's not similar ....
I've never played GW1. But I played GW2, and this started playing while I was in Lornar's Pass and I just had to stop. I had to stop and take it all in because it just pulled me into the fantasy unlike any other track.
I first noticed this song when I entered EOTN for the first time and was taking in the snow covered area, the northern lights and my toon's frosted breath, I immediately downloaded the soundtrack
12 years since the original GW, 2 days ago I was playing in Bitterfrost Frontier in GW2 and suddenly music starts. I immediately stopped playing and just increased the volume to listen to this masterpiece.
Marshall Tasca is a renowned explorer out of Ascalon. Together with his good friend Marshall Whitman, they set out to explore the known world about a dozen years prior to the events in Guild Wars Prophecies. They are famous for their thorough exploration of the Maguuma Jungle and the Shiverpeak Mountains. The Deldrimor War Camp was initially established by them as their base camp for the mountain expeditions. About a year prior to the events in Prophecies, Tasca fell off a cliff while exploring in the mountains. Whitman has been searching for him since. The exact location where Tasca fell is unknown, although the explorable area Tasca's Demise would appear to have been named to commemorate the famous explorer. Interestingly, there is also another area known as Witman's Folly. Whether it refers to Marshall Whitman is unknown. In Prophecies, players may chance upon Marshall Whitman, who would ask the players to help him find proof of Tasca's death or survival in the quest Tasca's Reprise.
This is a wonderful song! I haven't played GW but i know it only from GW2 (i heard it many times in Lornar's Pass) and i spent wondering what song it was for a long time, so happy i found it finally! I also love that picture in the video, where did you find that? :)

Still listening to this in 2020. Absolutely my favorite song from the original game.
I woke up with this in my head as wintertime approaches, and I am so utterly happy it did.
I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good old days before you’ve actually left them
Extremely well said!
@@LPeck1985 at least we got the music to remind us of them but so true
Everyday we live is a good old day, we just dont know it yet till its too late
There's no past and there's no future
So glad I got to experience the sense of wonder and adventure of this game as a kid. The music is perfect. I miss it.
Beautiful song ❤ I miss Guild Wars so much 😢
That picture is the cutest and most comfy thing I've ever seen.
2016 And I still come back to this. Guild Wars veteran here. Never did play GW2 though. How I miss the original.

Standing around Divinity's Reach for winter's day 2017 and the new environmental effects immediately reminded me of this gorgeous song.
This is such a heartbreaking melody, every time I hear it it blows me and leaves me with a sad heart.
best music theme from Guild Wars IMO
Take me back.
Here I come again looking after myself in gw1 music and imagining life could be better for me

How many people here know who Marshall Tasca is and why this song is named after him?
