Kang Yatse 2 (6250m) Expedition | July 2022 | Ladakh Himalayas | Hemis National Park

This started on 2nd August, 2021 when we came back from 6131m(120m short of summit) point of Mt. #kangyatse 2 bcz we crossed our cut off time. We came back with a promise to ourselves as well as the #mountain that we will see each other again.
Finally on 9th July, 2022 we set out for #leh . We acclimatised for two days. We hiked to Shanti Stupa on the first day and hiked to Namgyal Tsemo and Leh Palace on the second day.
On Monday 11th July, we reached our first campsite called Chokdoh. On Tuesday, 12th July we set out on foot from Chokdoh. Plan was to camp at Lartse, a flat ground before the infamous Kongmaru La (5200m). But we reached Lartse pretty early at 11AM and decided to cross Kongmaru Pass the same day. So we did, crossed Kongmaru La and reached Nimaling within 3PM.
On Wed 13th July we reached Base camp comfortably by 10AM and even did a acclimatisation walk before having lunch.
On the morning of 14th July also the weather was pretty cloudy but we did an acclimatisation hike to ABC (5500m). We were all ready to push at night but around 10:30PM it started raining.
It rained and snowed heavily the next three days. The entire base camp was covered in a blanket of snow and the hight #mountains hid themselves with thick layers of cloud.
On the night of 17th, the weather did seem a little better. We got a window! We started at 9:30PM.
We reached Crampon point at 12:30AM. We set foot on the knee deep fresh snow. We never knew when we crossed the shoulder. We had two options. go down the ridge to rest or to hit the summit directly. We chose to push on.
It was 5:15 ish AM. We could see the summit 50-75m away. But the weather was packing up. We prayed to almighty to let us reach the summit one last time. It was 5:30AM we were standing on top of the #kangyatse 2 summit just when the golden rays of the morning sun hit the ice and changed its colours. It was magical. tears rolled down our eyes.
After clicking some pictures with our national flag we started our descend.. We touched base camp at 9:30 in the morning.
