I hate how everyone now days thinks any fixed blade knife should be made for chopping down trees.... that's what the axe is for. It's the same reason I don't go whittling with my japanese kitchen knives, they're optimized for finer tasks.
As long as the popular youtube bushcrafters will make this sort of videos, chopping and hacking with knives, people will think that is what knives are made for, unfortunately:( Knives are made for cutting and carving, axes for chopping and splitting. 👍
Marttiini get their blades from Lauri Metal, meaning it's 80CrV2 carbon steel. Btw: they are no longer "based in Lapland", but moved production to the south of Finland in 2021, and then on to Estonia the following year. That need not affect the quality of their knives, of course.
They have a full tang model too. Imo full tang is unnecessary and it just makes the knife heavy. Traditional finnish knives have a rat rail tang and they are durable.

Hi, Thanks, i am glad u liked the video. About the spoons decoration, they are really not a big deal, i found these pics on google, just search for pyrigraphy ideas. U can also find plenty videos here on YT explaining how to do it in english. I already made one but that video is in hungarian without subs, sorry. I hope this helps 👍
@@laciihasz4734 it looks so stainless. Thank you for the quick response. I am always a bit biased when it comes to stainless steel. How does the marttiini stainless steel hold up to it's counterpart. And is it hard to keep the carbon steel free of rust?
@@SeacryBlastsAloT I never had any stainless knives from marttiini, only from mora. I keep this marttiini knife in my workshop all the time, never had rust on it, never treated it with anything either. My mora carbon did get a bit rust on it in the same time.

Ha ha ez egy ilyen kes:) En eloszor mikor meglattam rondanak talaltam, aztan mindig visszajottem az oldalra nezegetni egy kicsit. Addig addig jart a fejembe ez a kes mig azt vettem eszre, hogy tetszik es kell nekem:)

Kapott egy cseresznye nyelet, kicsit nagyobbat, meg szogletes format, faragashoz nekem az jobban kezre all. De vettem egy masik ugyanilyet, azt hordom turazni:) Jakut keshez meg nem volt szerencsem de tetszenek nagyon! Ha veszek uj kest akkor biztos az lesz a kovetkezo!

Did you use some oil on the handle and on the sheath? They look darker them in videos by other people.
Yeah i did, just linseed oil, i treat most of my wood and leather stuff with it.
