I felt like 999's story was much more emotional and captivating. But what this game lacks for in story it makes up in the complexity and quality of the many choices, possible outcomes, and creativity of the event sequences.
+Emergency Jergens Really? I felt as though Virtue's Last Reward was much more emotional because of the shock reveals of characters who betrayed you, trying to decide whether to trust or not trust, but then feel like an idiot for trusting someone or a piece of garbage for betraying someone who trusted you, these all depended on you, the player.
VLR is not as emotional as the last one. I'm talking about the deaths, because it can have sad moments. I compensates with the WTF moments more than the last one and it builds up a lot in a very great way, but...something about it feels less rewarding. Ironically, it looks like only Zero Time Dilemma could compensate for that.
*WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD* A lot of Zero's Escape fans always ask who stated the first few words in the intro. I think it'd make sense to say that Brother said them. It'd make sense; wasn't he technically the one who released Radical 6 killing the majority of the human population? Not to mention that his brother got killed and nobody really did anything about it. He was also the one who read people's minds and saw how corrupt they were. To me, it would make sense for him to say that, AND "Welcome to my kingdom" since Free the Soul is probably 'ruling' Earth (and maybe the moon, who knows). That's just my take, though.
+Diana4281 Good theory. I have another one: remember the 2 scenes where Luna asks why doesn't everyone just ally with each other, then later asks then why doesn't everyone just betray each other? I think the first few lines in the intro are her saying the words, while the, "then everyone should just die", is what she felt in her subconsciousness.
While that is a compelling theory, I think brother (we find out who he really is in ZTD) has more complex motives than that. I mean, he ultimately wanted to create a world where everyone survives. I will say though, there was a good deal of stuff retconned from this game so who knows.
Before playing VLR: Looks to be an enjoyable experience, the MC looks alright. Probably a Junpei clone. After playing VLR: I need the third game so I can save the world as the greatest Brotag that ever lived. SIGMA KLIM! Years later edit: To this day I think of how badly I got burned by ZTD. I was so excited...
Every game in this series has its ups and downs, but this one is by far my favorite. The timelines are pretty straight forward and I would say it has the best puzzles, but what really got me was the story and the revelations. I mean SPOILER ALERT when we spent the whole game looking at the earth thinking it was the moon and when we learned how far into the future we were and just EVERYTHING I wish I could take some soporil and play it all again
...This game was worth $60, but I got lucky and bought it at $30. Mahahan, just when I was getting tired of the same old survival royale, trust or not sorta stories, I finally find something with a completely new take on it.
Anybody else notice that the music at the very start (before Zero III appears) is a remix of morphogenetic sorrow? (The song that played during the incinerator scene in 999)
@@Xidphel Well, a fun fact is that he was only nice ONCE in the whole game. That was when he went against Luna. He voted ally that time only and only that time in the whole game. He showed a good side only for a very brief moment. Can't remember why if it was said why.
I personally find this game much more thrilling, ally or betray, what a premise, 27 endings, just, wow

So if only they can make one that gather the story complexity of 999, the choices of this game, you get something better?
max ace most likely

I'd say VLR is even more emotional than 999. Lemme explain my reasoning in 3 words.

One thing I really love about this game is how it gives a new meaning to choosing to ally or betray.
This intro still gets me every time.

Buck Wade Hm, that's a very interesting theory. Guess we'll see very soon what the right answer is.
I always thought it was Dr. Klim.

That Morphogenetic Sorrow remix at 0:58
The feels...
You didn't hear the music from it at the beginning?
Randy Vukov I did, but that part in particular is really good
lhafaero the vile Wish we could get a full or extended version of it...
This game was even better than the first. Truly fantastic.
One of story complexity, one of choices complexity.

@@thelamergamer1894 Nah it’s fine, the models are a bit janky, but the story, voice acting and puzzles are all on point

I think anyone who's played 999 would know, unless they haven't played it in years
I remember spending hours on this game just to get all endings.
I wonder what opening zero time dilemma will have hopefully it won't disappoint
It sure didn't! Did you play it yet?
randomsom1 yeah I'm actually a little disappointed about there being no Opening like the other two
Wasn't there an opening? I remember seeing it after [spoiler] carlos guessed the color wrong in the first few minutes.
+Andrei “Wimpybuster” I meant like the other two
Dio is the most intolerable character next to ace
Ace was better, honestly. He at least had the decency to play the polite man before the reveal. Dio was an asshole all game.
Unpopular opinion I like Dio
One thing Zero Escape fans and Jojo fans agree on: Dio is a jerk.
