I do appreciate diversity in decks but In the case of the forest of enchantment I can understand why there isn't any. The deck is situated in middle England and the theme is Northern Europe fairytales. So no I don't need to see people of color in this deck . Just like in the Druidcraft tarot I don't miss diversity.
I literally spit my wine out onto my screen when you said “Charmin bears”. Perfect! And I would definitely put the hermit and the knight of pentacles (Native American lady with the Buffalo) in the non-white pile. That is still a very low percentage of non-white representation in these cards, but obviously better than the forest of enchantment for sure. Love every single one of your videos. Always happy when a new video pops up from you.
I want to hear more about why the Green Witch irritates you lol The king of wands irritates me in the Everyday Witch, he looks like he belongs on Happy Days. The meditating hierophant annoys me too. That would be a fun video, cards that are irritating and why 😂
Thanks, Cody. That was great. I appreciate you taking the time to evaluate a deck for diversity. I know that wasn't all you were looking at. This is, precisely, what will change things. I remember a time (long ago) when there were consciousness raising groups for feminists. What you did, here, was similar.
I would have said the 9 of swords, page and king of pentacles, 10 of cups, hermit and empress are people of color. That would have made 20 out of 78 which is 25.6%. That's not bad for Llewellyn but if could definitely be better.
Okay so I pulled all these out lol. I can see where you're coming from with the 9 of Swords, but is it just the weird lighting? I feel like just having curly or wavy hair doesn't necessarily mean they're not white. Page of Pentacles is a bit too green for me. I think you're right on the King of Pentacles though. Ten of Cups could just as well be someone with quite a tan, so that was why I didn't count that one. I read the Hermit as a white woman with wavy hair, personally. And I meant to count the Empress lol. I wish they were clearer, you know?
@@tarotreadingsfromabitch I get it. They did the same thing people in the entertainment industry have been doing for over a century. They wanted to be considered "inclusive" so they used mostly light skin people of color because they can "pass" or appear non-threatening.
Diversity isn't something I look at in cards. Mainly I look for fae lol. But I loved watching this. I was surprised by how close the two decks art look. I kinda want the newer one now. I have the forest of enchantment but I didn't realize there was so much fae energy in the other one. ❤
Why would you make a full color reproduction of the card in the guide book? It's for me! I'm a baby witch, and I don't want to sort through my deck for each card when I'm trying to get to know them in an easy, curiosity driven way. I also get acquainted with the cards through readings, but sometimes I want to spend time with the tarot without having to set intentions and do heavy emotional work.
Maybe it's my middle-aged eyes but I super, super appreciate the larger images in this style of guidebook. It's so much easier to see all the detail in the card imagery.
Loved this! And I second all of these sentiments. 🙌🏽 I feel like such a salty bitch when I’m going through decks and there’s little to no diversity. I just can’t comprehend someone creating 78!!! different works of art and somehow only thinking to make a bunch of yt people. I don’t know what world they’re living in, but the one I live in isn’t like that. I literally have a list of decks in my notes app for “I would buy and love this deck if it wasn’t just fucking yt people 😤” Anyway, all this to say…. Same. 🩶

To me, the tarot of the witches garden is kind of a combo of forest of enchantment and the green witch tarot.
yessss, perfect example, its exactly that kind of vibe

Hands down for me is Forest of Enchantment ❤

I could hear you speak every day. You're voice is soothing at least for me. I think that's why I enjoy your channel.

hahah "excuse me, this bitch is green." Thankful for this side by side! I was curious. Both are so beautiful 😱
If we put the decks in piles of age diversity, Forest of Enchantment wins by a large margin.
They are both just STUNNING 🤩
