      I have always been an ambivalent person, by nature it seems. Not often a good thing.
      Am very politically ambivalent, esp. these days, but know we need a strong leader...One particular side just doesn't cut it for me, in that dept.

    Hi from polish lady in Australia! This was excellent conversation! I come from and lived through Russian repressive communists on my country! I was very active in underground political movements to support my country back to freedom and democracy! Despite the risks involved I had never ever luck bravery even when I was just a kid! Today I’m very active in supporting the Jewish community to the point where I was banned for life from TH-cam! My polish grandfather among million others helped Jewish people during the war which could and did result in death penalties!!! I don’t understand how people don’t grow some balls and fight for our freedoms! It’s was done many time through history we can do it again!!!

    The way I see it is that there are, on one side, conservatives and a small, marginalized, group of "rightist extremists", and on the other side liberals and a much larger, powerful, and widely legitimized group of "radical progressives". Moderate conservatives disagree with and distance themselves from the extremists on the right. Liberals are far less critical of the extremists on the left, in fact they are intimidated and often go along with their radical agenda rather than admitting that they find much of the progressive agenda to be objectionable and inherently both anti-liberal and anti-democratic.

      Jewish author of a book review, on the book Days of Rage, on Status 451 site.
      The book review alone is astonishing.
      Towards the end, he expresses concern for civil rights of "Nazis" after they called him a Nazi for running some kind of peace study group inside The Pentagon.
      The Left NETWORK of SUPPORT is much deeper, and protects revolutionaries who are violent with bombings and assassinating cops.

      The Bezmenov-exposed plan from the 1950s to capture western societies with fractures of identity in lieu of class driven educationally initially in the universities and now in the public schools has been perfected. Now, allied with radical Islam, there’s a concerted effort to destroy Israel, the Jewish people and ultimately western civilization, including all these useful idiots on the left.
      Atheism and antisemitism are co-drivers. People of faith are on the one side, and as oppositional to LBG, the queers for Palestine urge is overriding the Jewish identity and attendant traditional values.
      Batinsky’s book. ‘How Judaism Became a Religion’ is a lens to that secularization. Like the treif dinner has been a step towards Jews supporting antisemites as they didn’t expect the Nazis to come for them in 1930s Germany. Perhaps the response to October 7th on the left is a wake up call on many levels, with the current president saying ‘Hamas has a point’ after the current Democratic candidate called for Israel to capitulate to its destruction.

    Quran (5:51) orders
    "O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as friends. They are friends of one another. And whoever is a friend to them among you - then indeed, he is one of them. Indeed, Allah guides not the wrongdoing people"

      Well that s scripture, let s look at reality and humans dead. During the west "war on terror", more than 4 million middle easterner were killed as a consequence by the judeo christian values and judaism, so did muslims or jihadis manage this astronomic number of dead bodies ? In less than 30 years too. And you talk about morals.. ?

    A lot of people feel politically homeless because the first past the post system favors a two party system. Which is to say, percentages do not translate into seats in Congress. If the US could shift to a party list proportional representation system, you'd get more defined, realistic, political parties. For example: if you're party gets 5% of the votes, it gets 5% of the seats! Apply this from local to federal levels, and you'd see a sea change in US political discourse.

    • @m0ckingB1rd42
      @m0ckingB1rd42 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That’s how Hitler came to power in Germany. A two party system restrains the extremes better than a bunch of smaller parties where extremists can collaborate with one another to gain power (and then the more powerful extremists just kill the less powerful ones as Notsees did to the socialists that conspired to help them gain power)

    David, I too began noticing and flagging the antisemitism and extremism of the Left in the early 2000s. Like you, I grew up in the 70s and 80s and have only in the past few years had to make the distinction between old school liberalism, which I am, and what I call the Far Left or "progressivism."

  • @coraholunder1989
    @coraholunder1989 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I still am able to see myself as on the political left thanks to Germany having a left that strongly opposes antisemitism and does listen to elected representatives of Jewish institutions like the Jewish Students Union for example. That part of the German left is sometimes referred to as "antideutsch" (in English "anti-German") but that's an old term from the days when some people opposed the reunification of Germany out of fear of a new Nazi uprising that somehow stuck because people who like Jews must also like the US very much and even more than their own country therefore I think they are still called "antideutsch". People who see "Antideutsche" as their enemies call themselves anti-imperialist and romanticize communist dictatorships. Those anti-imperialists actually hate liberals and the American way of life in a democracy and their post-Soviet anti-imperialism goes well with Muslim hate against the democratic West and Stalin's antisemitism is still alive and well in those circles. It seems that romanticization of communism is very popular among young people whose parents never lived in a communist dictatorship and is therefore very mainstream in far-left circles in the US. And anti-imperialism also goes well with movements of decolonization especially after the US military and their allies intervened in Afghanistan. Non of the white feminists supporting decolonization seem to have a problem with the situation of women under radical Islam though. No international solidarity there.

    Maybe also interview:

    Lawdan Bazargan is an activist and former political prisoner from Iran. These guys were able to take over all the Middle East Centers of universities around the world. Second of all, they had a lot of money. Most of these centers, including the one in Princeton, are backed with dubious money.
    The goal of the cultural centers was, first of all, surveillance of Iranians abroad. It was secondly to enter the universities and make alliances. There are also these leftist professors in the US that are all upset by colonialism, racism, and all the rest of it. And so they joined the Islamists, not considering the dangers that they pose to our liberal values, to our democratic values.

    Sarah's view, about the way Communists turned on Jews after WWII, and the way Jews are often the first victims ... reminds me of the story of Mohammed turning on Jews in Medina when they wouldn't support his war lord aspirations. And when she said Jewish safety always feels temporary ... that resonates with me, a non-Jewish atheists that abhors racism or apartheid, that still sees Israel as a necessary Jewish home, ... available for Jews when they need it ,,, though with equal citizenship for all it's anything but apartheid, and ironically it's 'Muslim lands' (an apartheid term) that practice apartheid when they implement shimmi status for non-Muslim citizens.

    Initially so excited,, what will be the name of this new political party?...
    But then i remembered US govt is formmally a 2 party system. A formal institution. Yes, there are other parties but they are more of a pressure valve and a way to pull view away, but because the structure prevents actual momentum and influence. This is not parliamentary with coalitions.
    The work is in renewing a sane liberalism within the Democratic party. But it's the upcoming young that are ascending. It's in the language.
    (Btw, It's like on the right there are Reagan Republicans who feel homeless.)
    I'd love to talk with you both
