Hi there! Yes, we looked at propertirs in Damansara. We loved the area and the properties. I could definitely see us living there. We are going to check out Phuket, Thailand next, but I like the refinement KL offers,it’s classy.
Randy you keep saying you want to buy property, I suggest you resist, just rent, then you can still travel and not feel you need to come back to one place, also renting gives you the option of leaving if you get a bad neighbor (it happens). We plan to rent in Thailand when we move, we won't buy anything, it's so cheap to rent long term, if you buy and then you change your mind you have to sell at a loss most of the time, not to mention the hassle of trying to sell
Hi there. Thanks for watching our videos and taking the time to respond. Yes we couldn’t agree with you more. We truly love the freedom not owning gives us. But eventually if conditions are right we will probably buy again.
@@jillpemberton1434 Yes possibly at some point we would buy in SE Asia, but it would have to be an "ideal" place, renting long term gives the opportunity to really look around many places, and really make sure you make the right decision. We love Bangkok for example, but the pollution is insane, Hua Hin South of Bangkok ticks most of the boxes, but a small airport with only 1 flight a day is a deal breaker, you can't even fly to Bangkok, only Chaing Mai. We are waiting for interest rates to come down in Canada, then real estate prices will go through the roof, so much pent-up demand waiting for lower interest rates, at that point we will sell here in Penticton, might be 1-2 years, who knows!!! Love following your channell!!! Keep it up!!!!
We have not done a road trip through Malaysia. We flew to Borneo and the Perhentian Islands too. Borneo was really interesting. I love the Kinabatangan river tour that we did for 3 days.

Our kids just love it, when we send them an airline ticket to where ever we are in the world and then we hang out together for a few weeks. It's funny, when we were living just a few blocks away from each other, they were all too busy. Now we get the best quality time together! Singapore, is beautiful too. Its expensive and I think great for if we were still working, We are both retired now😀
Our doggies live with my eldest son, in Victoria BC. We actually had 3 dogs Blue, Wilson and Walter. Walter, the golden retriever, passed away in July. Walter was 16 and he died in his sleep. He was such a huge part of our lives. Blue and Wilson are super happy with my two sons. Lots of walks and lots of love, have given the doggies long healthy lives❤
I want to travel alone. I am 58 and a woman. How do you know how to? where you do your reservations without being scammed? should I always get into a tour?

Healthcare is the least of the problem for locals and foreigners. It was and still is recognized as the top medical destination in the world for foreigners.
We were so so impressed with the healthcare compared to what we experience in Canada, it’s absolutely first class and efficient. In Canada no one can get a doctor, nobody can see a specialist. In fact, people are dying in the Emergency waiting rooms - if the emergency is even open!
@@jillpemberton1434 With a score of 95 points out of 100, Malaysia has been ranked first as the world's best in healthcare with its world-class healthcare services and sophisticated infrastructure.
@@jillpemberton1434, in many medical cases, there's no long queue for medical appointments or surgeries unlike other countries such as the US and medical costs are many times lower than US too. I mentioned US specifically because I was supposed to migrate there decades ago and have been there many times. Malaysia is definitely not perfect but when comes to live-ability for westerners, very high percentage of Malaysians speak English, currency advantage from the west, low cost of living from westerners' perspective, relatively safe, good and cheap food, vacation getaways within Malaysia can be reached within hours - long drive from KL to Penang or KL - Singapore are around 4 hours, all that could bring you from cities to nature, I think Malaysia has good combinations but yes, it is still not perfect.
We loved that! You can always find plenty of green space. I think KL is my favourite city now! Thanks for subscribing and for taking the time to drop a note. 😊

@jillpemberton1434 while singapore airlines is top for full service airline, airasia is top for low cost airline. We compliment each other. Singapore dollar is similar to Canadian dollar, and excluding food and public transport, other items are expensive there.
This place looks amazing. Makes me wonder . As an Israeli Canadian Jew , I don't think I would ever feel comfortable in a place like KL. I wonder what other places in the world you found that would be more inclusive to other religions.
Hi there, Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to connect with us. There are lots of places in the world to stay long periods of time. Portugal. Spain, Italy - we head there this summer. We are looking at getting a second residency in one of these countries. Mexico City has a large and prominent Jewish community and we love Mexico City. We have a few videos on Mexico City. Mexico City really took us by surprise, you never feel like you are in a city. As for KL - yes there are lots of muslims. I have to say I have never seen anywhere else in the world where people live so peaceful. I think KL is very unique this way and places like Borneo have a different feel. Once the demographics of a place change over time, the place, its culture and values will change too. So dont expect KL or anywhere else to remain the same forever. We see some permanent changes already, not all for the better unfortunately.
Yeah, I get it. I see the changes in places that I visited 10 years ago, when I came back I can see massive changes. Yes for sure! I feel like we need to see more of Malaysia and spend some more time here! Malaysian’s made us feel so welcomed. ❤
You should check out the town of Taiping in the state of Perak with it's tranquil and picturesque Lake Gardens. It's the town of most historical firsts in Malaysia and it's only a 3.5 hours drive from KL.
*Malaysia is the centre of South East Asean, centres eazy low cost to go abroad likes go to Thailand Vietnam, Indonesia Philippines & Other's*
Yes travel to other southeast Asian countries is very affordable from Malaysia. Thanks for watching our video and taking the time to respond.
Greater KL have 15 mil pop with over 100 supermodern subcities
Yes, we travelled quite a bit through out Malaysia. There is so much that it offers. We were shocked at how affordable it is.
Looks like you guys had fun. Try and check out Penang and Melaka on your next visit. Keep having fun.
We had a great time! We also had a full medical check up, which we will do a video on coming soon! Really appreciate you subscribing to the channel!
Happy ur enjoying beautiful Malaysia, luxury is affordable and very little language barrier and a skip amd a hop away from anywhere in Asia, Australia’s Perth just lil ovrr five hours and for us in Miami to LA is lil over six hours and still in the US!
It’s a fabulous city! It is great for flying in and out of too! We were stunned at how affordable compared to Canada it is.
Nice video..
Thank you so much Asmah and Thank you for subscribing!

If you want to live in Malaysia it better for you to visit all the states in Malaysia as a whole to see and experiencing the cultures, tradition, beliefs, foods and it people. You will be amaze with the diversity of it peoples from all walk of life. You will be surprise that Malaysia not only consist of 3 main races but more than that if you combine the whole state of Sabah and Sarawak on the island of borneo.
you don't say "races" there is only one race: the human race/
you mean ethnic groups maybe?
Welcome to Malaysia💕Hope you enjoy your journey here🥰
Thank you so much! Love Malaysia 🇲🇾 ❤️
If you want to visit Malaysia as a tourist, please do. However, if you're considering migrating and living here, please refrain as we already have a sufficient number of foreigners residing in the country.
It is truly a lovely place to be!
Exactly ! We have enough of foreigners living here, by the millions, utilising all the subsidies meant for Malaysian 😂😂
MM2H is for peninsula. Borneo is autonomous. So there is sabah mm2h and sarawak mm2h.
We spent time in Borneo - we had a great time there. I love the people in Malaysia, so friendly.
@jillpemberton1434 malaysia has the world's oldest tropical rainforest. It is the top 10 countries for expats especially kl and georgetown. I know that Portugal, Turkey, Mexico is up there too.
It is an affordable luxury, you are very lucky to choose Kuala Lumpur. Hope you are enjoying your stay in Malaysia. ❤
It really is! Thanks for subscribing! We love KL - we need to return to Mexico for a little bit but we will certainly be coming back soon. Still lots of travel to do.
Wow sisters beautiful 😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰
Hey thanks for subscribing! New video coming out soon of "why" we choose KL.
I think it's so cool that in Malaysia, Indonesia - I am referred to as "sis"😀! Love Malaysia!
I think Kuala Lumpur is a kind of affortable high life.. spend the same amount of money.. and you can get more.
I agree! Canada is a complete mess and completely unaffordable. Taxes are through the roof!
Malaysia 🇲🇾 and KL was so refreshing and we absolutely loved it. Your medical system is outstanding!
Auwww. Love the video ❤❤
Thank you 😊
Visit Penang, northern side of Malaysia. You might like it more there.
Thanks Susan! We will check it out! Thanks for the recommendation! Love Malaysia 🇲🇾!
Aha I spot a golfer. I'm sure, after 6 mths of travelling, he misses green open spaces with challenges.
There are many golf courses around KL but they are for members. There is one that is open for public "Kelab Golf Seri Selangor". I'm not sure if they offer any golf set for rent though. So google up and give them a call.
We looked at homes by some of the golf ⛳️ courses . The courses look very nice! Having a golf club close, is on the check list when finding a place to live.
Supercool
Such a great city!
subscribed! 👍
Thanks so much for subscribing! We have a new video coming out maybe tomorrow! Ok gotta get back to work on it😀

Thanks to Tun Dr Mahathir. Greater thinker of Malaysia.
Thanks for subscribing! Yes, his vision for Malaysia for economic growth and modernization is impressive! Even more impressive is that he didn't just talk about it, he did it!

Thank you for subscribing to our channel! We love Malaysia!
Have you gone to Damansara Height? One of the ten coolest neghbourhoods on earth as rated by Lonely Planet?
👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you for subscribing! ❤️
Roadtrip?
We have not done a road trip through Malaysia. We flew to Borneo and the Perhentian Islands too. Borneo was really interesting. I love the Kinabatangan river tour that we did for 3 days.
1st how ABT your fir kids?
Who is taking care of them!
Singapore is the most expensive city in the world if I'm not wrong
I would suggest u consider a country which no probs for communication.
Hey Edmund,
Thanks for subscribing! Our kids are all grown up, our youngest son is 27, they are all completely independent and set up in their careers. Our kids just love it, when we send them an airline ticket to where ever we are in the world and then we hang out together for a few weeks.
It's funny, when we were living just a few blocks away from each other, they were all too busy. Now we get the best quality time together!
Singapore, is beautiful too. Its expensive and I think great for if we were still working, We are both retired now😀
@@jillpemberton1434 I mean your fur kids
Our doggies live with my eldest son, in Victoria BC. We actually had 3 dogs Blue, Wilson and Walter.
Walter, the golden retriever, passed away in July. Walter was 16 and he died in his sleep. He was such a huge part of our lives.
Blue and Wilson are super happy with my two sons. Lots of walks and lots of love, have given the doggies long healthy lives❤
@@jillpemberton1434 thank you for treating them as your family member.
God blessed you and your families 🙏
I want to travel alone. I am 58 and a woman. How do you know how to? where you do your reservations without being scammed? should I always get into a tour?
We do most of our hotel bookings through Booking.com. As far as tours go. We usually do our own thing. But we are seasoned travelers, And would not recommend that for everyone. And of course you can continue to watch our videos. We try to put useful information for everyone. And thank you so much for watching our video.
Kuala Lumpur is a multi racial city, safe, cheap with world class facilities...
Yes! We were absolutely blown away with KL. It truly is world class and affordable.
Done ✅ Subscribed! Welcome to my Home Land Malaysia 🇲🇾. We are moving back to Malaysia in 2 years. My US Husband would like to retires in Malaysia 🇲🇾 . Hopefully both of you enjoy your trip to Malaysia. Terima kasih/ Thank you for this great video.
Hey thanks for subscribing and taking the time to write such a sweet note!
I think it is a great place to retire! Wow, it's an exciting city that offers so much. Currently it's on top of our short list. We are continuing checking out a few more places around the world, so stay tuned!!!
@@jillpemberton1434 - Cool… can’t Wait for new contents & videos. Good luck & Enjoy!
Probably U two may wanna consider KL as your future home (MM2H program)??🎉😅
Check out our hidden gem.
Thanks so much for watching and subscribing. We really appreciate you taking the time to write. Stay tuned!
Cheers,
Jill
The only Metropolitan that preserve it's jungle in the middle of a hectic city..
We loved that! You can always find plenty of green space. I think KL is my favourite city now!
Thanks for subscribing and for taking the time to drop a note. 😊
Background music too loud.
Thanks ! It’s been a a big learning curve for me!!! I did not come from a technical background
Now when I do videos, I have reduced the music sound drastically from 12% to 5% … so it’s something that I keep working on. I appreciate your feedback 👍
Please dont move here. 😔
Hi There,
Just curious as to why you would not want foreigners to retire in KL, Malaysia? 🤦
99.9% of the Malaysian’s we met have always been so positive and welcoming.
@@jillpemberton1434 Hi Jill, not everyone commented here are Malaysian. some will pretending to be. u will be surprise how some people get upset about u loving Malaysia
@@azmirahmad1181 HI Amir,
Thanks for the note. Not sure where exactly we will end up yet.
We have lots of travels to do, KL was like an “epiphany moment” for us. We realized we can live anywhere. We thought Cabo, Mexico was the only place but there is a big world out there.
We are both retired and looking for a place to find home.
Kl is not as clean as singapore for sure. With so many migrants from different countries mostly south asians. it is a tough job to maintain cleanliness.
We are definitely looking. Singapore is also on our list. Both cities you can fly to so many destinations from there.
@jillpemberton1434 while singapore airlines is top for full service airline, airasia is top for low cost airline. We compliment each other. Singapore dollar is similar to Canadian dollar, and excluding food and public transport, other items are expensive there.
My personal feel, staying in Singapore is like staying in a sterile environment Excommunicated from nature.
@@klloo5689 something like staying in a colony on Mars?
@@keangwooichoo6138 it's not as bad as Mars because Singaporeans can still flock to Malaysia during weekends and holidays 😉
As a malaysian ..this country is really cheap...not only food but anything
Coming from Canada - we absolutely blown away with what KL had to offer! We also loved travelling around Malaysia too! Overall, we spent 3 months.
This place looks amazing. Makes me wonder . As an Israeli Canadian Jew , I don't think I would ever feel comfortable in a place like KL. I wonder what other places in the world you found that would be more inclusive to other religions.
Hi there,
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to connect with us.
When we visited Jordan and Egypt - the muslims there were very different and gosh we could feel the disdain they had for us particularly in Jordan and Cairo.
Cheers,
Jill and Randy

Once the demographics of a place change over time, the place, its culture and values will change too. So dont expect KL or anywhere else to remain the same forever. We see some permanent changes already, not all for the better unfortunately.
Yeah, I get it. I see the changes in places that I visited 10 years ago, when I came back I can see massive changes.
I visited Flores, Indonesia 10 years ago, I rode around the town in a truck, filled with chickens. This time coming back, the roads were ultra modern roads. I could not recognize the place!
Ooops, ya found real WAKANDA .. shhhhhhh.....
This is now my favourite city! Wowwzaaaa!
KL totally knocked my socks off. We can't wait to come back to KL.😃 I will now keep it quiet...shhhhhhh
