  • Falkland in Fife, Scotland. A two part adventure this week, we start off with a trip to the gorgeous Fife village of Falkland, favourite retreat of Mary Queen of Scots.
We check out some of the unique buildings and disappear down a historical rabbit hole looking at marriage lintels.
What's a marriage lintel? Well watch and find out :)
After that we head over the River Forth to Edinburgh for a cruise on the Union Canal.

Love the old houses in Falkland. The cobblestone pathway's and scenery, so very quaint. I have never heard the story of the marriage lintels, such a fascinating fact. Thank you for taking us along on your adventures.

We were so impressed, it was a lady in the village who noticed us filming and told us about the lintels. We love it when that happens, people who are really passionate about "their" wee place.

It's a wee hidden gem, only a small village but so much to see.

Falkland is very cute! The cemetery is quite beautiful, it's nice to see it so well tended.

Falkland is beautiful. I love the graveyards, and the war memorials except I was hoping you would get closer so I could read the names. I have relatives in many areas of Scotland. Another enjoyable video thanks for taking us along.

Enjoyed this one much. If anything bought, would enjoy seeing. Amazed with old world engineering. Tells you where our minds were problem solving and on occasion how complicated we have made things now.
Really enjoyed Falklands. No worries, been fussed at and run off too lol.
Can be difficult to know the difference between establishments and residence on those old back alleys.
Assuming Mabel was where you left her.
    Thanks for sharing

We love the way old engineering did the job, but always managed to look so impressive and beautiful (in its own way).

I was telling my hubby about your adventure along the canal. He was a University of Edinburgh student who stayed in one of those student lodgings. That was cool to see.

Great video, loved Falkland, it’s a lovely wee place. Your Canal cruise was also interesting. How much trouble navigating your way back to Mabel was the darkness or the gin.
