Brandon, I have a problem using your tips (as is to be expected when using 8-year old tutorials). How do I get the thing off my clipboard when I'm done so I can copypaste another item?
Hey Jackson, Ctrl+v should let you paste the copied objects (when using ctrl+shift+c, also called copybase) into another drawing. I actually just made a newer video with other options when you need to transfer/copy &paste between drawings. Can watch that one here: th-cam.com/video/ChxMhpNEXrE/w-d-xo.html
@@Cadintentions hey Brandon how are you? Great video. I am new to AutoCAD and utilize it for Audio/Video Design. I am able to copy/paste from 1 drawing into a new drawing but when I click on the Signal Flow block that I copied over I do not have the option to change any of the texted in the copied object. I need to be able to use this feature so I can build a library and so I can quickly add devices without having to draw them from scratch every time. Any advice? Please advise. Thank you!
Hi Brandon, I have a dwg file that does not have the same line weights as my template, how do I make my job easier? at the moment I am matching properties (frustrating) looking for a better way to work more efficiently :)
ty for help. I want to ask a question I didnt find an answer for a week in the Internet. I draw house project for my studies and i want to draw hatch and to hatch some stuff but then I draw hatch it doesnt draw correctly or doestn draw at all, what I see is a solid filled colour. for example I use simple bricks pattern but it just doestn draw. Then I tried first time I needed to zoom a lot to see hatching but then I tried to hatch next time it didnt draw at all. :((( any ideas? Some ppl told me to change a scale but I just cant because i cant see my hatching. It is hard to explain it you must see it..
hey, I have a problem when I hit Ctrl-C I've got the error message " Copy to clipboard failed" and never able to copy, any idea what went wrong thanks.
thank you!! i tried pasting numerous of times and it just didn't show up; but then the zoom and the extents thing helped me locate all my previous pastes!! thank you
hey, Adam's mum. I have few issues, first- I transferred the object i wanted successfully before but today when I tried- the model I had on the drawing (the one I wanted to have two drawings on- original i transferred one) disappeared. second- in one drawing one model has two dimensions but one is the size I want but second dimension is too small despite the same properties. Please, answer me asap as I'm very late with schedule (deadline on this Monday), thank you
Hello. I wanted to ask if I copy something and paste it in a new drawing, would the teacher still be able to identify the owner or something? And thanks for your helpful video!!
Hello, I wanted to ask if you ever found out if the teacher can tell? Going through the same issue now! Would appreciate a fast response. Deadline is soon😭
What if the 'drawing' I copied in the other drawing is so small that I only see a dot? I don't understand that, I think it has to do something with the scale, but what..? I really dont know....
hey, I can't copy object from few files. when I copy an object from a file and paste to another file it says Command: _pasteclip *Invalid* can anyone help me to fix this ? Please....
used to be, when utilising MOVE command, you could right-click half way through the command, use ZOOM to go to a different part of the drawing, and then enter the destination point of the objects you are trying to move. In AutoCad 2016 when you try this you lose the objects when you attempt to ZOOM. Why is this?
hi brandon, how can I change the color of my text on the drawing as well as the dimension numbers without the need of changing them separately one by one? cheers
Can anyone help me out here.. After pasting objects from one drawing to another the thickness of the lines have changed. I tried to use match properties option but it isn't working. How to have the exact same line thickness I had in the previous drawing in the new drawing? If anyone could help will be great.
Thank you for your video, I have successful done this: I copied a drawing to an another dwg (model), but the new drawing is at a different size when I convert to PDF. Please show me how to change the size of the drawing. Regards.
+Minh Hai Nguyen After you paste the drawing. highlight it, Click on Scale and click anywhere on the pasted drawing and enter the value 0.0393700787 (conversion from mm to in)
hmm weird... It might just be showing up somewhere else in your new drawing. After you paste your drawing into the new drawing using cntrl+v then type z enter e enter to zoom to the extents of the drawing and hopefully find the drawing you pasted in. (this happens if the coordinate zones are different or simply not the same location between drawings.) Hopefully that helps out Cheers, and thanks for watching!
