I'm not gonna lie, the early sounds are hilarious! I'm glad they changed them, though. Sounds more cartoony that way. Best change was deciding to have a light white color when the bosses were getting hit instead of a strobing red. The red is far to distracting and seizure inducing. EDIT: now that I think of it, I wonder if the sounds were the way they were because it was too early to have made/rendered good sound effects? Most of em sound like a person making random noises.

They are made on short notice and done with whatever they can just so the game has audio while the play testers are trying the game. That way the game isn't very quiet or bland, even if the sounds aren't top quality.

It was an actual sound effect that was meant to be played whenever you would use your super (there are also a few sprites that were meant to appear when the energy beam deforms while you're close to ground, not sure if it was actually scrapped, but for now it's just the simple jump animation appearing for a split second)
Vonderhaard1 Many developers make temporary sound effects, and this was one of those cases. It's not that they tried their best and failed; it's that they didn't care all that much, as only play testers would hear the audio at the time. They only had it there while they produced better sounds to add in future updates.
This is an early build. If you look at any game this early in development, you’ll hear placeholder sound effects and scratch tracks. They were never at any point intended to be in the finished game lol
I definitely prefer the final HUD design, but can we appreciate the cleverness of the fact that they made it a face in this version? With the eyes and nose as the HP, and the teeth as the Super Meter! Very clever!
Changes I could find were the hub,the music for the hub,the music for captain brineybeard,using an early version of wally warbles theme. Sfx,like shooting,parrying,knocking out a boss,and others sound like a person made the sounds and some are missing completely

Yeah, I'd say they made the right decision to delay this to add more polish.

Of course some of the sound design or animations were less smooth because they were still trying to test things out. The art was still great, the music still sounded good, etc.

When Psycarrot was doing that telekinesis attack, it sounded like they got a bored child to do the sound effects (it's something like "wah-wah-wah-wah") I get that these are just placeholder sounds, but it's good they didn't stick with them.

I think it was because the original concept for the game was to have you go through the world, and as you kept going, everything would get more detailed. So basically you being really tiny is the least detailed you could get.
