Fun fact: jelly the octopus was not going to be a standalone boss. He was going to be in a series of bosses called the airship. These bosses were repurposed into the kings leap Pawns = storks babies Knight = jelly the octopus Rook = crab Queen = stork Bishop = clam
I really like the health bar of the old one. I get why they changed it, it's a bit hard to glare at during a tricky section, but that actually looks pretty creative.
@@rikuu3515 I think you can get up to eight now with the parry ring but it would be nice if there was a mode for beginners who want to do the proper bosses but need that extra boost instead of have people do it on simple mode and then have to relearn the fights on normal. Just a personal opinion.

So glad they took the time to refine the music, the boss battles and added another 18 or so bosses along with the Run 'n Gun stages and Mausoleum challenges. Cuphead is a classic game in my book.

Few thoughts: - First, this pretty much confirms my running theory that Wally Warbles is an Isle 1 boss that got replaced with Hilda Burg. All the bosses there are themed around forests and nature, like early Disney shorts. Wally fits right in there, he's out of place in Isle 2, which is themed around a carnaval/funfair. And the second thing is that his design is about as simple as most bosses from there, except for Hilda Burg or Ribby and Croaks. He's relatively uninteresting. - I have full confidence why Jelly was scrapped. He's freaking pathetic, even by early cuphead standards. Root pack have varied personalities and character. Ribby and Croaks are an actually interesting concept and are likeable as characters. Goopy is actually HARDER than this. Even in the current game he's simple in an awkward way where I always end up getting hit because I misjudge distance or something. And I'm all up for gimmick fights, don't get me wrong, but this is too much of a gimmick, nothing is even happening. And to pour salt in the wounds, King's Gauntlet did that whole "Win with parries" thing way better... Several times. - Root pack is pretty much unchanged! The music is a placeholder of course, most sound effects are often weirdly loud and Ollie Bulb doesn't seem to exist yet... But it actually has the same background it does in full release. And I love that because the ACME fertilizer bag is probably my favorite little detail in isle 1. Game would truly not be the same without it. Second most detailed background of the beta, and may I say the best one. - Phantom Express exists.... that's odd. But other than that, the first really finished boss of the game, Cap Brineybeard, who uses Wally's theme.... for some reason. It really shows that Cuphead designers weren't really good with designs back then, because the early bosses are most often stationary and just do a little bobbing/squatting idle loop. No, that boss isn’t even real. Im guessing somebody took some unused and uncolored animation of a jellyfish boss and tried to finish it into a boss. Attacks and stages were unknown for the boss. We don’t know why they cut it, it may have been time restraints.
@ no hes super easy, just use crackshot or chaser, and when the last phase is go right in front of the wooden stake and use smokebomb do dash right behind the first one and repeat that just dash back and front. The fireballs cant hit you that way
I downloaded the apk on my phone and I'm happy it's as good as it is! It's just that some bosses crash the app. I'm pretty sure it's beta though so it'll improve
Goopy Le Grande is a perfect example of how drastically having 2 of the same easy boss can make the fight much harder.

Wally doesn't have the stretcher phase, probably because it only works properly with the bomb weapon
