- Happy Cinco De Mayo! I'm bringing yet another one of my personal mixes, in today's video I'll be presenting you my very own "Fanmade Demo" with the track "Streetwalker".
The mix is based around the 1982 era, I had in mind that he would've made this demo shortly after recording "Hot Street".

The original demo of Streetwalker was written and recorded in 1981 around the same time as Billie Jean(Demo), Got the Hots, Behin the Mask, and the original P.Y.T. MJ had a funky groove constantly repeating in his head while in his game room. Michael decided to vocalize the groove to producer Greg Philliganes. Michael would then hum out more ideas such as the funky rhythm guitar leaving Philliganes to develop the song and make the composition. After the music was done Jackson would then come up with the melody with the lyrics coming soon after. The original demo of Streetwalker remained in the vault until leaked by Quality Mixes on May 6, 2023.

Streetwalker was a demo that was written for the Triumph album in 1980, but wasn't picked up until late 1981. It was then recorded for the Thriller album, but Michael wanted to come up with more ideas for the song, so he reworked it again in 1986. He was able to complete it, but Smooth Criminal took its place on the track listing. It was officially released on the Bad: Special Edition in 2001 and Bad 25 in 2012. The 1986 demo was released in both 2020 and 2022, respectively, where one was in low quality and the other was in high studio quality. The original 1981 demo was by leaked Quality Mixes on May 5, 2023.
