    Probably one of my fave things about Dr. Dray... Serious substantial content that makes you focus then you get subtle funny/cute bits that I live for just as much as the educational info.

    Lots of good info on how to prepare day in and day out. Some of the things I already do, but some I hadn’t thought about combining or including. The nutritional yeast is definitely a good thing to add. We sprinkle it on just about everything! Also used in cheese from cashews. Adds a nice punch to lots of things. It’s amazing how much better many things taste without meat overpowering it.
    Love the enamaled cast iron too! The le crueset is the original (most of my pieces are 30+ years old and still going strong). And I’ve also had very good luck with the Lodge brand of enamaled cast iron, and the Aldi offering, as well. Love that they can all start on the stove, and finish in the oven.
    Love the idea of reusing the spice jars. I eat lots of nuts, and the screw on lid of these would keep them fresh, me portion-aware and them easy to take along. I love the journal idea too, because it’s so easy to miss some nutrients of complete nutrition. It makes me slow down and really think about what we eat.... never a bad idea! Always look forward to your postings, and the vegan posting days are a special special treat!

    Taking your preferences into account from this video, you could try this-
    Soak 100 gm of split pigeon peas or red lentils or yellow lentil in water for 30 mins.
    In your pressure cooker, add the lentils, 1 onion, 2 tomatoes, 1 tsp turmuric powder, 2 garlic pods, 2 green chillies, vegetables of choice- zucchini, squash, carrots, celery, pumpkin, peas, potato etc. Add water and cook all of this. After its cooked, mash it well.
    Next, in a pan add 2 tbsp of vegetable oil.
    Add 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1 tsp of cumin, 1/2 tsp fenugreek, few curry leaves.
    Add the lentil mash to the pan.
    Add barley water (or plain water) and salt to taste. Cook until its boiling. Garnish with cilantro.
    You could add some oats or millet or quinoa or rice to this lentil soup for a filling meal.

    Love your pots and gadgets. The idea about the spice jar containing exactly 1/4 cup is pretty inspired. I always hate throwing them into recycling, but this is a good idea of how to use them.

    I definitely want to see more of these. I’m a vegan but don’t always eat as healthy as I should (especially when I’m stressed or limited on time). So seeing someone else who clearly has a great diet nailed down helps me stay on track. Thanks for the great content!!

    This is so satisfying to watch. As a vegan of 8 years I've grown so organized with food lol. My set ups are very similar to yours Dr Dray, people see it as being extra but it's a wonderful investment for your health, and cleanly prepped vegan food simply tastes better!!!

      Amoeb0id Nope. Many oils are extremely healthy (Extra virgin olive oil for example preserves the polyphenols that are removed when olives are cured) and also allow you to become satiated without “overdosing” on fiber by eating so many seeds and nuts.

      @Amoeb0id In my opinion these oils are the bad guys... canola, corn, soy, safflower..they are inflammatory...the good ones are extra virgen olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, and red palm oil.

I don’t know if you’ve heard but I saw on Twitter that the FDA approved this new retinoid called “Trifarotene” in a 0.005% strength and to my understanding it can be used on face and body , I would love to hear your opinion on this topical drug and who would it be useful for!     I love this video, using spice jars for snack containers is genius! After watching this, I'm hungry for a salad (at 11pm, go figure...). Have you heard anything about using a touch of healthy oil like olive or avocado oil in salad dressings to aid in vitamin absorption?

    This is actually motivational for a moderate junk food addict like me, you make the process look relaxing and therapeutic 😂 and you use spices! You should consider trying South Asian meals/recipes, majority of them are easily convertible to a vegan options and are very filling xx

    I'm so glad that fall is here in SW Va. because now I can put a soup or stew on and let it cook while I'm (should be anyway) getting my exercise done. I love to cook, but I'm finding it hard to balance my time in the evenings and the older I get I'm realizing I need to focus on getting more exercise and not getting more food. I don't feel like I get the quality work out in if I do it in the morning, but I should get up a little earlier and perhaps get some cardio in. Life is all about balance, right?! Great video! I've said before, you are very good and personalizing your videos :)

    Hi! Important question! I make a very similar kidney bean veggie ‚stew‘ - with the typical stuff such as courgette, broccoli, onion, mushrooms, greens, potato... I don’t use a slow cooker just on the stove. When it’s freshly cooked it is absolutely amazing but after 6 + hours it tastes awful - sour, tangy, stringy. I’ve tried all sorts of storage methods but after the second day it is inedible. I don’t want to cook fresh every day but don’t want to eat soggy Pak choi. Any suggestions? I don’t know anyone else who eats this so I hope you have some insight. Adore your vlogs btw: more vegan recipes and what I eat in a day please for the fellow vegans!

    You should let your water sit for 45 seconds after boiling, if you put boiling water on coffee it will burn it. Also wet the coffee and stir first and let some of the gasses release. Try it and see if it makes a difference, it should pick up all the notes and be well balanced this way.

    You should grind the mustard seeds (any seed actually) to release the flavor and nutrients. Otherwise it’ll just go right thru you and you won’t really taste it. Seeds have a protective barrier that’s intended to go thru your digestive tract unharmed (this is the main way that plants naturally repopulate in new areas) so you have to break it open for that not to happen. You’ll find that you need a lot less in quantity.

    What a wonderful video. I love watching cooking videos and getting ideas. I love edamame. Unfortunately I only eat it when I’m out. I try not to keep soy products and certain beans in the house since my hubby can’t eat them due to his blood disorder. It’s just easier to follow his dietary restrictions at home. I’ve always found it so odd that even the good stuff can cause problems. Go figure! Anyhoo, I’ll sneak in a couple of your recipes for myself.

      Hi, LuLu, What kind of Nutritional Yeast do you like? I tried Bob's Red Mill Nutr.Yeast (to sprinkle on popcorn), and I didn't like it at all. I ended up throwing it away. Do they all taste the same? Maybe it's me, and I just don't like the taste! I don't know. Thanks! : )

      You can use diluted glycerin as a humectant. I have been using it and it works really well applied in small quantities. Better than any moisturizer I have ever used. I am not a dermatologist however. You can try

      Emilia Nunez they pack your daily pills all together! I see a lot of other TH-camrs taking a few different vitamin tablets a day, it looks like she is just taking b12 here.

    I have been looking for a cacao nibs to replace choc chips but read they are bitter.Is that true?What brand do you recommend and what brandis your nutritional yeast.Looked on iherb and there is alot to choose from.Enjoyed this video.I eat mostly veggies and fruits an have learn alot about spices.

    Awesome... thank you for you beautiful well presented video. I so wish I was vegan cos it sounded sooo extremely delish and nutritionally packed. Sadly ☹️😫I love my meat but from time to time my body ask me for detox so I do raw vegetables and water diet for up to 4-6weeks and after that I
    feel renewed and refresh and like totally new person
    the feeling that I can conquer world... keep it up, keep sharing

    Loved this video Dr. Dray! I'm also vegan, and I enjoy seeing what other vegans eat. It helps me add some more variety into my cooking. Also, that soup and rice pudding looked delicious!
