- Hello to all my subscribers and welcome all who are new to my channel.
In this video, I've leaned out my brand new Savage X 4.6 and am taking out to see what it can do. Turns out, it jumps awesome and handles great for a monster truck - a super fun truck still after all these years. It's still the KING 👑 in my opinion.

There's a hobby shop I know of 3 hours from me that has an unbelievable amount of original hpi savage parts left in stock hanging on wall. Even had 2 original hpi aluminum pipes still both in original hpi packaging unopened of course so I scooped one up to replace the plastic pipe on my savage. My man ripping the ol savage like it's meant to be!

I just bought a lightly used Savage XL. The latest version that just came out. Should be getting it in a few days. Already has some nice upgrades installed such as an Lrp 32 spec 4.1, the HPI HD metal big bore shocks, and a few other things. Super excited for it to come in on Friday. And they have a 3 speed transmission if you didn’t know!
Hpi savage is my favorite rc monster truck! Even the flux hp!

Dammit. Thats it! I'm ordering a new mill for my Savage 25 tonight. Got it brand new on a trade, and it unfortunately wiped out the front bearing about 2 hours after breaking it in.. I just threw it in my basement about 15 yrs ago and kinda forgot about it. Not anymore though! lol

Very nice jump. This savage look like the ones from back in the day. They came out with 4.6 back then. Did anything change or is it just a reboot of the same savage. Either way it’s a beast.
Hello señor, I have my savage since i was 18 years, I'm 37 now and it's still running on the same engine, drive train, good maintenance will keep it running for ever, o i forgot mine has a different engine it's still the one that came stock, butt after I bought mine the next generation the engine where made by HPI .

Always starts. Always tunes. Dont get me wrong, ive had my nitro issues but 20 years. Of running off and on i know it well. B4 i took an rc break for wife, kids, an a house , doah , it once sat on a shelf for 7 years.
My Associated MGT 4.6. 15 years old. Still runs. Good truck but heavy. It needs all the 4.6 has in my opinion.
My brother had had had, dummy, a HPI 4.6 ss. Way lighter than the mgt.
So not that it matters but surfing craigslist last week. Pictures of an hpi savage. No body. Glow plug in head ( thought that was a good sign) even a pic of the hpi remote and roto start in a bucket. Dont think the guy knew what he had. The ad read: gas rc truck , i bought it used, been in bsmt for years, no time $50 .
I dont think i have to tell you, i nearly broke my fingers trying to reply so fast but too late already gone. Awwww.

Mate I just took my HPI savage x 4.6 out yesterday for first time run, what a truck I love it ! I what I realised is that the when the fuel is low on this type of model the engine starts to get hot and run lean

How do you keep the one way bearing from destroying its self cause it seems everytime I run mine the one way bearing stops working

Cool. I knew nitros could jump. Mabey not big aerial flops like electrics that usually break something just because they can for some reason o dont get it but this is just fine by me

I had a savage 25 back when they first came out and the diffs were so weak. I wonder if they beefed up the drivetrain much since then

Did you have to put shock oil or diff oil in it when you got it? Or do you even need to put any diff oil or shock oil in it at all? How long before you need to put different oils in the diff or shocks? Thanks dude! Love the videos! 🤘

It's hard to getting parts, butt they don't brake that easy, check your local mom and pop shop.
Well in london it is harder to get parts for because most of the parts are kept instock in the us somif your in us you can get parts

Hey I have a hobao hyper Mt plus nitro ordered and I am going to get a really nice . 28 engine for it. I was wondering if you can recommend me a good clutch for it? It would like it to have plenty of bite off the line.
Lawrence Timme I use a Kyosho racing clutch on my savage. It has light weight springs and Aluminium clutch shoes (3 shoe) + vented clutch bell
@@inngotrcexperience6716 sounds like a good setup. I have got my truck now and I have a reds 4 shoe with aluminium shoes coming for it. Hopefully it works ok. 👍
Always wanted a savage but only downside to me would be noise! So I went with a mini e revo, been a long time since I have had my rc out, how noisy are these savages?
airtrifle The noise is the best part bro 😆 I know what you mean - not ideal in suburban areas but I have never had any opposition to it - nitro is relatively loud but not as loud as a 5th scale 2 stroke 🤝⛽️🔥🚀💥

airtrifle I highly recommend it if you can - if you like the mechanical side of the hobby then a Savage is perfect for you - there’s always tinkering involved with that car 👍⛽️🔥💥

Are these still worth to buy well used in 2022 ? How long do the engines last ? I've not had a nitro since I was a kid but now want one for my kids . Seen a savage 4.6 for £150
They are worth buying and the engine will last many years if properly tuned and maintained however if you’re new to nitro I would recommend getting something slightly less involved than the savage. It has 2 speed transmission and a slipper clutch that can be a little tricky at first. It might not be suitable for kids as they are quite powerful. If you’re buying second hand you may encounter technical problem with the condition of the car
@@inngotrcexperience6716 I had a couple of thunder tigers when I was about 12 , and had to fiddle with them quite alot . The savage is 2nd hand , what should I look out for ? Or anything I should ask about it ?
@@CM-1723 if you’re buying 2nd hand - anything could be a problem to be honest… you have to be prepared for that. The main areas to check are engine, fuel lines, seals on the tank, transmission, clutch assembly…. You should check over everything and replace worn out parts as you go along. Personally I mostly only buy new these days for that reason
