What a privilege to enjoy this great concert with a great conductor and orchestra in the confines of my house in South Africa during this Covid times,!!
My favorite conductor, my favorite orchestra, performing one of my favorite composers. It doesn't get any better, especially in these trying times. Thank you and God bless.
Si direttore superbo!
Strong agree
Abolish favoritism from your heart. It's a form of bias which closes our minds to new & great possibilities. Be brave & explore the endless range of art in the world.
So beautiful. I can also see that many people are inspired by this music. Love the harmony between eachother in this piece. Deep bow. ❤️🥰
Bravo!!!!I miss Mariss very much 😓.
Grazie dall’ Italia, siete meravigliosi!👍
Truly: a great, important, and historic orchestra. This performance helped me get through another long and fretful day. Thank you, Concertgebouworkest!
Mariss Jansons- my favorite Richard Strauss conductor
Besides being a conductor by profession, Maestro Jansons was - most of all - a conductor by vocation. Every concert he conducted was a real gem, and this one was no exception. Thank you, Maestro, and thank you, Concertgebouworkest!
I have happy memories of him conducting various concerts at the 'Proms' in London with the Oslo Philharmonic. They were superb.
@@johnsummers9790 So they were, indeed. Such a pity we he have to use the past tense to refer to Maestro Jansons. He was - and will forever be - my favourite conductor.
He was a conductor. Died 1 Dec 2019. TIP: Vocation is a synonym for profession. I'm guessing you mean conducting was his calling. I think most well-known conductors would fit that bill. It's not like plumbing or data processing. It's fine art as a leader & shaper of orchestral performances. Jansons was born to a Jewish mother in Nazi-occupied Latvia. Thank the heavens the Germans didn't find them or the world would have been poorer for the loss. R.I.P. Maestro.
MUITO, MUITO, MUITO OBRIGADO!!! É muita emoção de verdade! Strauss e o maravilhoso Mariss Jansons,...quanta saudade! Ele faz muita falta! A Concertgebouworkest é perfeita! Saúde para todos nesse momento tão difícil!
Pienamente d’accordo

I missing Mariss Jansons
What a absolutely brilliant colorful performance
Lettura ed esecuzione superba!!!!
In questa sala da concerto ( al top) la fusione dei suoni trasforma questi rumori strumentali in una armonia che ti manda in una estatica conptemplazione
Also sprach Zarathustra - 1:04
Metamorphosen - 38:09
Suite from Der Rosenkavalier - 1:06:22
spectacular, haunting, stunning, moving, fantastic and one of the best openings of any orchestra I have ever heard.
Desde Chile, en cuarentena y toque de queda, gracias por este maravilloso consuelo. El muy llorado Mariss Jansons ya figura en la galería de los Grandes Directores. Otra vez, mil gracias.
What a masterpiece!!!
A great program! Couldn't appreciate this stream more
Que maravilhoso! RIP, Jansons. Thank you so much!
Magnífico! Mariss Jansons é imortal. Concertgebouworkest maravilhosa. Straus divino. Parabéns à todos e muito obrigado.
Breathtaking…Thank you❤
The BEST version. No question
very good indeed. You can find also a performance with Maestro Jansons and the BRSO...also a very good concert performance.
I'm getting my big Headphones and Amplifier....and treat myself!.....I feel so selfish.....but is here for all to enjoy.
Don't forget to visit "BR Klassik-Konzert" for the Maestro's last concert.
Foi um fenomenal maestro.Agora só o podemos rever nos vídeos
참 좋습니다(very good)!
At 9:30 they finally showed the harps. Those guys are working hard.
Though we have experienced a lot, no wonder why our generation will always be remembered as a luckier one... Let me tell you, RCO w Jansons is a reason
Bravo!!!
There was a Der Rosenkavalier version by the Concertgebouw from 1960, conducted by Eugen Jochum
Marris Jansons the great!
STRAUSS-ein Gigant !!!!
Brilliant
The current world is full of great conductors ...we only need to appreciate them ..
I don't believe in afterlife, so I don't think Jansons will know this.
But he is missed so much!
I know I am missing him loads
Good bless him
il y a toujours beaucoup de spiritualité dans les interprètations de Mariss Janssons on est parti loin très loin quelle transcendance!!!! avec un tel orchestre c est le Nirvana

There are too many ads. Do you want to fight one more time?
Principal bass appropriate headbanging alert at 9:14
And a Jansons growl around 17:28
Apparently Strauss was Jansons’ favourite composer. I think he rushes the introduction a little bit but otherwise an excellent performance.
Yes - I think the opening could be a bit slower.
The one conducted by Strauss is actually faster than this

Excellent! But you have to anounce it in a larger audience.

😍😍😍
lol,thanks from Chinese man
A great Conductor sadly dead .

Where's the monolith? Mankind could use some enlightenment now!
How can that be? He passed away!!!
This concert is recorded in May 2012, John.
What
A fine program, but the Rosenkavalier Suite is disappointing (imho): dull, dull, dull. Ponderous tempi, no forward thrust, no Viennese grace. If Jansons had ever conducted the entire opera it would have been longer than Götterdämmerung.
Surprisingly slow, don't you think ?
Un peu trop lourd et poussif.
Tout le monde n'est pas Karajan...
