since Taylor swift's brand new album the tortured poets department is COMING soon and will likely incur some changes to the eras tour setlist (fingers crossed) here's my painstakingly thorough analysis and ranking of each and every performance on this mammoth and prolific tour. truly the entire thing is show stopping never been done before etc etc so there are no REAL cuts to be made, but we all know that evermore can use some work.....

I just watched the tour movie like three days ago. "Look what you made me do" is the gag if the century. It goes so hard! I got scared she'd jump out of the screen and strangle me. And tbh I would have loved every second of it.

I would replace 'The Archer' with 'Cornelia Street'. To me, it just sounds like a song that was written to be performed live. The way it builds to a climax is *chef's kiss* & with her stage production, she could've made it look like an actual street with the lights pointing in an arrowhead🥹

Adding another Era is IMO asking for too much time wise and cost wise. The tour is over 3 hours and she’s performing nonstop, it’s like a broadway experience singing, dancing and acting. There’s a stage “setting” for each Era, it’s not as simple as some think. The “easiest” is changing songs in each Era but still is work.
The more she gives the more we want.
Be careful, remember what happened when you commented on IDWTLF. I still laugh so hard when I watch your reaction in Singapore, you think she did it on purpose? 🤣
The tour debuted over a year ago and hasn't really changed or incurred extra work (production wise) since. That plus the two month tour gap we're in, there's been plenty of time for her to have planned, prepped, and now rehearse and add in new content @@belmoon8711

I only saw the film in theaters but when the BANG and snake projection on the stage for Rep made me CRY

Other than that, I would've cut "The Archer", "Cardigan", "Mastermind", "Wildest Dreams".
Shortened "The Last Great American Dynasty", "Lover" and "Delicate".
That leaves us with, let's say 5 free spots for "The Tortured Poets Departement".

love that you mentioned her lipping! had the chance to see her and i definitely guessed some parts that she was not singing live especially when her pitch gets higher and her voice doesn't sound that strained - i thought she was just imitating her pitch in her older music (of course, nothing wrong with lip syncing love taylor DOWN but singing for 3 hours straight live will harm her voice in the long run im glad she has her secret moments to rest her voice)

We need answers for Debut getting the cut, and there are people who still say Evermore is her least favourite child. Like, Speak Now is drowning in the river, and Debut was found at the bottom as a skeleton.

When you said that ppl only like it because it’s part of the trilogy, that’s how I feel about Betty. It’s always been kind of a nothing song to me, it’s only purpose being to complete the trilogy. Whereas August and Cardigan are gold.
I mean it has some of the most heart wrenching lyrics I’ve ever heard - “leaving like a father, running like water” 😭
And the imagery of her feeling forgotten and discarded but then being found by someone who was looking for her all along! So beautiful!
But I had to come back because I watched a video by another creator - the folklore reaction by NeeCee X (I don’t think I can post a link) - and her interpretation of Cardigan was so different than what I had ever thought, it blew my mind. She described it as if the same person was the one who discarded her and then clung to her again as she was leaving. That makes SO MUCH SENSE with the current context of TS lore and joever.

debut songs would sound and look so good in that folklore cabin one of those moments were i wish the setlist wasn't separated by eras and instead we got mashups like the bad blood/should've said no moment from the rep tour

The fearless section of the show is epic, amazing all i ever wanted it is the louvreeee and more
35:13 dont get me wrong I absolutely do LOVE the eras tour as is, I understand the hard work that goes into it and don’t want to sound like a whiner, but sometimes i wonder what it would have been like if the show was actually like this. And honestly sometimes think that would’ve been even better 😭 like imagine not just full lengths of the best songs but the BEST moments of the BEST songs. Like a concert of nothing but our favorite bridges and outros (the other side of the door) ????? Uh YES PLEASE. Not to mention i love a good reimagination of a song, and it would’ve been nice to see what taylor would’ve come up with.
I totally get what you’re saying, but I honestly think Taylor did the best she could considering how much material there is to chose from. You said what if we got more of the “best moments of the best songs”, but that’s really subjective and your best songs are probably not the 70,000 other fans best songs. Also it can get a little weird if she picked a lot of deep cuts bc at the end of the day, the show HAS to appeal to not only swifties but also general fans.
@@SweetPotato3507 i was thinking more how fans make compilation videos of the "best" taylor bridges here on youtube. Most of the time, a lot of those they pick are the same ones across the board. I know she had to have mass appeal which is why we got a lot of singles, but this is just me imagining a parallel universe where she implenented the mashup method like he was talking about in the video. I also understand doing individual full songs the way she's doing now allows for better planning and consistency

My favorite moments of the show are cruel summer, enchanted, fearless, august (the spinny dress with the sleeves omg!) and midnight rain- the “it came like a postcard” change moment has me gagged so hard every single time. It’s like the miss Americana closing version of the midnights set. We go from rainbow sunsets to midnight- it’s beautiful.

Im way tired by the red era. I literally sat down on floor seat and not watching ATW10 💀😭 i did stand back up abit for the bridge to witness the iconic moment ✨
Went to SG to attend the concert on March 7. Let me tell you, I stood the entire time for my concert night and danced. We got rained on too and had a very strict usher/security lady who forced me to go back to my seat where I promptly cried, idk if it was because of Taylor, the strict security lady, or the rain. I felt too much that I couldn't be shoulder to shoulder with people and sit. I felt miserable sitting down. That's not what people should do during the concert of the singer they've been supporting since they were 15!!! I kept thinking that Taylor would stand and dance if she were me. I just knew it. Tears just kept on streaming down my face and my friends thought it was just because I was watching THE TAYLOR SWIFT but no, it was A LOT of things. Good thing that it rained again and they didn't force us to remain seated anymore. I quickly stood up and went to the back. I stood there for the entire concert and danced like crazy. I thought my heels would break mid concert and that I wouldn't be able to stand up the next day but both didn't happen! I met wonderful strangers who danced like crazy at the back too. But best believe, I didn't have energy for the ride home. Now, I feel like crying again. I honored every version of me who was a Taylor fan. The girl who printed lyrics and memorized them on the ride back from school. The lady who introduced Taylor to all her friends. The me who was a keyboard warrior during the 2016 meltdown. The woman who found her very own Cornelia street. EVERY VERSION OF ME, I brought to that concert. It was wonderful. Thank you, Taylor.

LOVED THE VIDEO! Waited to watch it while I ate dinner and it was worth it. As always, you just know your stuff. My TOP louvre performances from when I went in Nashville would be Cruel Summer, Fearless, You Belong With Me, LWYMMD, Enchanted, All Too Well 10, Style, Shake it Off, Surprise songs, Anti-Hero, Bejeweled, and Karma. Those were the most fun and I had the time of MY LIFE! In delete, I would put The Archer, Delicate, Betty, Cardigan, IKYWT, Wildest Dreams, and Vigilante Shi. Not saying all of those are bad, but I think could be replaced easily if she chooses to replace some going forward. I think some added songs could definitely be I did something bad, getaway car, New Romantics, YOYOK, and tortured poets set. Thank you for the video! I’m so excited for April (TTPD Month) because I have a feeling that once April hits, she will be teasing and promoting. I’m sensing emergency videos may be on the way. Anyways have a great day Zach!
I only went to one show (Seattle N1) but for me it was perfect. SO many things made that night iconic - the small swiftie earthquake, NBNC, not realizing that LONG LIVE was added (hello???), and being surprised with This is Why We Can't Have Nice Things. Oh and I learned recently that Eddie Vedder was there, so 2 artists I love were in the same place.

Ok, now that you have ranked the performances, can you rank all of the eras tour outfits? I know it’s a lot and you don’t have to do it, but if your ever up for it, it would be cool to see you roast them.
I would usually defer to your wisdom on this but I am going to make a concerted effort to sway you on "The Archer" staying SOLELY as a Lover/Fearless tour bridge. I am sure you will but please take this as a impassioned rebuttal out of respect. I am coming from this as someone who has not attended the Eras Tour but has watched the movie and mildly rates the Lover album - which I consider a mixed bag of songs.
The Archer is a song that can be read romantically but I think has a more abstract tone and can be read (as you have read it previously) as a statement to the fans. "Who could stay...you could stay" is the fans who love her work and appreciate her as she is. The people who will "stay" will always be the fans, who will love Taylor for who she is and will revel in all her accomplishments.
IMO Lover era needs to be rounded off with a song that is the thesis statement for the tour and a message to the fans, prepping us for the Fearless leg. Fearless is a landmark album in her discography and considered her first big breakthrough album into the mainstream. This means that the message going into this leg of the tour is one of "look how far we've come" and revelling in how we have "stayed" with her through all the big milestones. No other Lover song has this concise a statement regarding her career journey except maybe Daylight (which I do not agree is a good closer to Lover) or It’s Nice To Have A Friend. I personally think the Archer works best for this bridge into Fearless. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

i honestly think that i’d muchhh prefer yoyok instead of mastermind as the second last song on the tour. Yoyok feels like such an incredible bookend to the show. I do love mastermind and the performance was great but idk. I think yoyok has really become this big difinitive moment of the midnights era and it’d be so beautiful to watch it get its big moment

I think the reason why Tiffany Haddish did the iconic line for LWYMMD in the rep tour was because she was like the “rising comedy star” at the time. The film, Girls Trip, came out in the same year that Reputation did and Haddish was proclaimed the one that “stole the show” in that movie. It was her big break and her career exploded afterwards. Haddish also had that moment with Taylor for SNL, and I think those factors lead to her doing that bit.

I understand the sections that didn’t have their own tours being longer, but I think it could have been more consistent still. Like 3 songs for the old ones and maybe 4 or 5 for the new ones. I had no complaints at all when I was actually at the tour and I’m grateful for whatever we get, but obviously a girl can dream about my ideal set.
Folkmore is gonna be cut down like a tree and speak now is def getting more atleast thats my prediction
