  • So many people have asked me if I would consider doing an airbnb and I'm always hesitant to answer. Nonetheless, you can probably tell from the video that I decided to go with long term rental. Since construction, many people would ask me if I was renting. I would often hear, "when is the place finishing or yuh nuh know anywhere ah rent?" The demand for rental properties are currently high. Anyways, I have also decided to compare long term rentals and short term rentals to see if the option I chose made sense for me. The question is, which would you choose and why?

I’m more for the idea of doing routine check up and maintenance on my property. Plus not having issues with removing a bad tenant from said property. I would definitely try the Airbnb route

My suggestion is to do airbnb, short-term or vacation rental first. This way you can recoup your initial investment into the build a lot faster. With airbnb, there is insurance in place in case the guests cause damage to your property.

My biggest issues with Airbnb is that everyone is running from LTR and the terrible tenants, so the good a suffer for that bad. These places are also the most accessible places in the local towns and cities. Them a run we go a hills! Jeesh! Nothing nuh lef inna d town dem fi locals!

Yes, over saturation of short term rentals in a specific area means less housing opportunities for residents! Great point!

You are so right, terrible tenants have made it bad for everyone. I watched the Delpratt family post about a tenant they just had to evict from one of their properties, and the way they left the place in shambles 😠. At least with airbnb they insurance for damages.
